Super 8 Downtown Toronto' in Toronto

The room itself was OK, however the tub filled up during a shower. It was the location of the room that was the problem, just off the lobby. It was as if hotel staff, and check in guests were in my room all night long. Requested a new room but was told the hotel was fully booked. An air conditioning unit near by ran repeatedly all night like motocycly […] parked outside my window. I got, at the most, two hours sleep. The hotel deducted the cost of parking but could do nothing about the room rate. Will not stay again. Being downtown, on the main floor and overlooking the main street, there was a lot of traffic noice and pedestrian noise. Lees meer

Very nice hotel. Very convenient to all downtown sites. Only downfall was parking for us. We own a full sized van. clearance in the ramp is 6'. We parked just 1 block down however for rasonable rate.

good location with a lot of space, but there are alot of dust inside the room and we found bugs in the bathroom.

Clean and very spacious. Decent free breakfast of cereals, bagels, yogurt and juice/coffee included. Convenient location and good value for downtown T.O.

Hotel is located in the center of chinatown, toronto. If you like exotic mood in canada, it is good to stay here. The size and design of room is good. However, when I firstly open my room's door, it was not cleaned at all! I was upset with that, but they changed another room. Very clean, and much bigger inside than what you see from the street. Very diverse and international clientel, including families as well on vacation. Location is great(walking distance to Kensington Market, Queen St. W, etc), and Chinatown itself is fun with great food and markets. Great value for the money.

This is an excellent hotel with large rooms. I had a 2-queen room, and the sitting area included a couch with a pull-out bed. Well maintained and clean, and was one of the cheapest I could find in downtown Toronto close to The CNE. A streetcar runs down Spadina to the waterfront and another one takes you right into the CNE.

Although it was brief my stay was great. I booked the 2 queen suite very spacious and clean complete with mini fridge and microwave. Location is very convenient in relation to the ttc, the streetcar is right across from the hotel. In all a very pleasant experience. I will be booking this hotel in the future

This hotel had clean, nice rooms. It was in the heart of Chinatown, so there were plenty of places to eat. It was a short walk to the Blue Jays game. Parking was available in the garage below the adjoining mall for a fee. There was a typical continental breakfast. The beds were slightly hard.

This was the nicest super 8 I've ever stayed in. It was in a great location. I was a bit worried after reading the reviews about the location it sounded like it might be sketchy. It was eclectic and fun. It was right on the end of Chinatown so Kensington market and Chinatown were both easy to explore. If you're comfortable and familiar walking around […] a city, then you'll feel comfortable staying there. We had a flat the morning we were supposed to leave, and the hotel manager called a service for us to help us get the tire changed and on our way. Parking was only $10 for the whole time if you didn't go in and out during your stay. With so many things within walking distance and the buses easy to navigate, the parking alone saved us a bunch of money. It's a great deal for the price and location. Lees meer

Has a lot of spare room for the 2 bedroom. Very spacious, quiet, and peaceful... It was close to a lot of downtown attractions! Close to nightclubs and a great place to sleep after a good party night! Definately would go back... Complimentary breakfast was simple and was good enough for free inclusive!

We found this a good hotel for the price paid, clean, on main road but no noise, friendly and helpful staff, in China Town loved the markets.

Be prepared for the Chinatown experience, which has positive aspects (wonderful restaurant food!) and negative aspects (bums begging for money, smelly fish sold in open market, crowded sidewalks). The hotel itself was located in a building above 2 floors of Asian shops, which is alright but they lock the doors leading to the hotel from the shop side […] via escalators at 8 pm when the shops close. The only way in after that is through a single elevator in the front of the building. (The 2 other elevators at the side of the building were broken the whole time we were there.) It was a hassle not having access to stairs and having to wait for a slow elevator all the time. The room itself was clean but the bathroom was the size of a small closet with barely enough room to even close the door. The room came with a small refrigerator, but it wasn't cold; only lightly cool, so we didn't trust storing food in it. The free breakfast buffet had only a few selections available (but at least it's better than paying for over-priced meals otherwise in Toronto). The location of the hotel was convenient -- within walking distance to 3 attractions in the City Pass booklets. The restaurants in Chinatown served delicious food at reasonable prices -- I recommend eating there if possible. Lees meer

Granted the Super 8 on Spadina Ave is not a posh and plush hotel like the Ramada or even the prestigious Fairmont, but it was an ideal place to rest up and stay during our week-long sight-seeing vacation. Centrally located and well situated on a major TTC transit route, we were able to visit the CN Tower, Toronto Islands, R.O.M., Casa Loma, Science […] Centre, Toronto Zoo, Kensington Market, China Town, Dundas and Yonge nexus, and many other attractions with little or no effort. Best of all was the area immediatly surrounding the hotel; most of the vendors and business did not open until 10:00 AM and so if we just wanted to laze about, there was little or no abient noise from the neighbourhood. Friendly staff, well placed, perfectly priced, safe and secure, I would recommend the Super 8 China Town to anyone. Lees meer

I found my overall stay was very pleasant and was happy with the cleanliness and location of the room. The streetcar stop is right outside the door and takes you to all the downtown locations, including, CN tower, Rogers Centre, Centre Island Ferry etc. The big downfall was that the elevator that goes from the parking lot to the hotel was broken. 6 […] flights of stairs was a lot to climb trying to carry suitcases. The hotel did try to compensate by providing free parking which was nice, but it was terribly inconvenient. Prices were excellent for the downtown area. There is a liquor store a few short blocks down the street, a starbuck, McDonald's subway and may other convenient stores. The staff at the hotel were absolutely excellent. Lees meer

Our excellent clean room was spacious and overlooked a quiet side street. Breakfast was adequate in a clean, well attended room. Parking is expensive. The lobby is on the third floor and there is no temporary parking while one checks in. The elevators were problematic. The two that accessed the parking garage were out of order. We had to walk down three […] flights into the parking garage to get to our vehicle with the luggage dolly and then return it to the lobby. Thankfully, no one in our group was handicapped. It would not have been fun taking a wheelchair down those ramps. After complaining to the front desk, they offered us a free parking pass. Public transit is in front of the building. The first time that my husband and I stayed at Super 8 was in early April and both of us found the room to be cleaned, staff was courteous, great view of downtown Toronto. We had no complaints. Last week, we stayed again at Super 8. This time we hardly slept due to the room being extremely hot. The a/c was remote controlled and we did not have one. […] I spoke with the clerk who attended at the room and started, but left it at a low temperature. I was quite happy with the counter staff who helped us find where we needed to go and with the efficiency and pleasant manner in which we were checked in. The only problem was our toilet blocked and over flowed, when my husband went to the front desk he was given a plunger, a mop and a bucket (not the type to wring out the mop). We got no gloves (thankfully […] we carry some with us) nor were we given a disinfectant or other cleanser until we went back and asked for it. No one followd up to see if the problem was corrected and I was disappointed that they didn't have a way of dealing with an unexpected emergency of sorts. HOTEL WAS GREAT(BEEN THERE BEFORE) BUT THE NEIGHBOURS NEXT DOOR WERE UP TILL 4:00 IN THE MORNING SO WE IDNT GET MUCH SLEEP. HOTEL PAID FOR OUR PARKING FOR THE NIGHT. You always hear bad rumours about certain areas within Toronto. Anyone who has given bad comments about this area and hotel have probably been spoon fed there whole lives or just old and ignorant to other cultures. This hotel is located a stones throw from queen street and the parking for the hotel is well marked on spadina st. On the WEST side of spadina. […] Look for the u turn lanes and signs on spadina. Very helpful if are coming from the gardiner. Just look for the Chinatown centre on spadina. The rooms were clean, quiet, and perfectly dark at nights. The elevator is located at the end of the hallway which was perfect for no noise. The staff was quick to bring up the iron and board. I just hung up the phone and the concierge was knocking on the door. Staff was perfect, very friendly and knowledgeable about the area for shopping and dining. Obviously being close to queen area it was easy to find something to do. The trolley on spadina connects u to union station which was perfect for getting to the concert at the acc. Dundas and queen also have trolleys which bring you to either ends of the eaton centre and or other shopping and food. Obviously not a 5 star hotel due to its location within a mall complex, but if you're going to Toronto to stay in a hotel then just stay home. Perfect for jays fans as you can walk to the Rogers centre in under 20 min. Check out Cora (great breakfast) down by the dome on the corner Wellington and peter. Very in expensive (for toronto). The room was very dark and the window was very small and very high, gave me the feeling of being in a basement. quite depressing ambiance. I would not stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Super 8. We found the neighborhood extremely convenient to all the neighborhoods and sites on our itinerary. The hotel staff was always cordial. We did have to solve our own plumbing issue after hours. However, the plumber came the next day. Also, the breakfast is VERY basic (cereal, bagels, packaged muffins, coffee & juice) […] and the towels are laughably thin. While all rooms have wireless, the connection is faster if you connect via ethernet cord (which you must supply). Lees meer

Our visit to the Super 8 in Chinatown, Toronto was good. They provided a breakfast with bagels and cereal and coffee and tea. The hotel rooms are older but were clean and sufficient with a small fridge and microwave. Just a few minutes drive to downtown, lots of restaurants within walking distance, and just a short walk to Kengsington Market. Overall, for the price, this hotel is great. The room was a nice size. The mall that the hotel is attached to is just a few steps away from being a flea market. The free wifi was very spotty at best at least in my room and didn't work very well.

Finding the hotel was very difficult and even though we spoke to the front desk a couple times before we got there, they never once mentioned how to find the entrance. We got there at night and the hotel is in a mall- no way to get in. The underground parking is extremely confusing and no one bothered to give us instructions on how to get from the garage […] to the hotel. The garage looked pretty scary and the only signs they have, say “hotel parking”. Once we made it to the front desk, we were handed our keys and the maze continued in search for our room- clerk didn’t feel the need to take us to our room. He just told us to follow the signs. The room was OK, except that the soap was very limited and so were the towels. We will never stay there again. Lees meer

My boyfriend and I stayed at Super 8 Downtown Toronto for four nights in February 2011 and we were happy with our stay. The hotel is well located for transport links (the Streetcar to the train station picks up from directly outside) and one of the main shopping streets (Queens St West) is only a couple of blocks away. They have a secure entry system […] in the lift ensuring only guests can get to the floors with rooms on. Our room was clean and had all of the amenities expected from a hotel in this price range. The free continental breakfast was sufficient and was available until 10am. This is a perfectly reasonable hotel if you are looking for somewhere not too expensive but clean and well located. I like the hotel, your a little bit out of the right downtown Toronto but if your not into the big fast pace, staying at the super 8 in china town. The walk to Eaton center or Union station is only 15-20 minute walk, streetcar stops in front of the hotel. Rooms where cleaned well and the service is excellent. I only found one defect the the tape for […] the tub was backwards when you put the tape on cold it was hot and then you put it on hot it was cold. The hotel it self was very comfortable . The only concern that it was a bit of a walk to some entertainment areas. The immediate surroundings where good and there was some good shopping deals.

breakfast was subpar. no yogurt, and limited selection of bagels and fruit. elevator buttons were very hard to read. signage poor. room had a funky configuration - large unusable space. very poor lighting throughout the long and winding hallways and in the rooms. bathroom was very small and the toilet seemed extra small. alarm clock did not work. towels […] were thin. very little windows.
