The men and women working at the desk went out of their way to be helpful. I was traveling with a handicapped person and they all made an extra effort to help us. The fellow keeping the breakfast food stocked was also very pleasant.

Enjoyed the staff. Parking is convenient. Breakfast was quite good. Easy in and out for a quick stay.

the bathroom was only relatively clean and a glass framed picture had to be removed as it was broken and about to crash to the floor. The service was great and the location is perfectly located next to UNH with a K store/ Irving right across the street. Breakfast was as expected with any HI Express.

The room was clean and comfortable, however the housekeeping staff neglected to clean and replace new linens and towels after 1st night. Had to walk around hotel to locate the night manager in order to get towels to shower before bed time. Aside from staff related issues, the hotel was good.

The people at the front desk were very welcoming and helpful. They made your hotel feel more like a B&B than a hotel. The hotel itself was clean and provided all the necessary amenities.

We thought that the Durham Holiday Inn Express was a very good choice regarding the overnight piece and its lovely breakfast selections. Still, the restaurant scene left something to be desired. The room was very clean and staff was friendly. However basic hotel maintenance was a little weak. There was no parking area lighting, no air conditioning in elevator, and the ice machine was broken on 1st floor, so you had to go to 2nd floor area. This area did have washer and dryer, however there was lint and dirt accumulated on floor as if it had […] not seen a broom in a few days. The microwave table also had food remnants remaining. The shower rod in the room was not fascined properly, causing the curtain to droop, thus water ends up on the floor. A few quick fixes and this stay would be much better. Lees meer

Overall a nice hotel. Room was very comfortable. I had read that parking was confusing, but it was pretty simple to figure out. Really disappointed that the breakfast bar was subpar. The breakfast is one of the reasons I typically stay at HI expresses. The pancake machine was not working and there were no cinnamon rolls.

My party was thoroughly satisfied with this hotel. We had a very late check in and all local restraunts were closed. The young man on the desk that Friday night gave us food from the complimentary breakfast, bagels and cream cheese etc.

Everything started off good. Keep that sentence in mind. The hotel has a nice enterance and nice staff. We were impressed with how clean the hotel was. The room is up to date. The bathroom is small but it's because the sink is inside the room not in the bathroom. Keep in mind there is no pool. That wasn't a big deal cause even though we had kids with […] us we were there for the night and gonna be too busy for a pool. They share a parking lot with an apartment complex so you have to pay close attention to the instructions of the staff when they tell where to park cause you can get towed. After leaving our things in the room we did our touring of the town and came back to the room that night to rest and start up fresh in the morning with the complimentary breakfast and some more touring. We got ready and started heading out, when i had to make a last stop in the bathroom. That's when I saw it....a cockroach crawling down the bathroom curtain. I couldn't believe it, such a nice hotel and in an instant it was all ruined. I killed it, went downstairs cause we were checking out anyways (after breakfast), and we informed the staff, they gave me the owner's business card so we can email her (which i did, still waiting for a response), they apologized and we left saying thanks but no thanks for the breakfast. I would reccomend this hotel due to its' location for the business reason I stayed in Durham. There was no noise from the heater/airconditioner, the water was hot for a shower and the bed was comfortable. On the minus side, the sink drained slowly, no referigerator, coffee provided for coffee maker was weak.

My son and I stayed one night inconjunction with a visit to UNH. Great proximity to the college -- quick walk. The staff was very nice and the hotel was comfortable.

The staff was great and very friendly but I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the bathroom. Did not expect to find hair in the corners of the bathroom or in the shower based on other reviews yet that was exactly what I found in our bathroom.

The hotel and room were acceptable. Unfortunately the workout room is located on the second floor and opens around 6 AM. We were awaked by the sound of the treadmill pounding over our heads. This hotel was a little off the beaten path for us, but we enjoyed our stay. Durham is a college town, so it is quiet and has plenty of restaurant and pub choices. Hotel staff were very friendly.

We enjoyed our stay, the room was very nice, the staff pleasant and helpful, however, in order to get a reasonable rate, we had to come off the beaten path and come to Durham, which we might not have otherwise done. It would have been better if the hotel had it's own restaurant, as we were not able to find anything within walking distance that appealed […] to us very much. Otherwise, the buffet style breakfast, included in the cost of the room was very well done, and capped off a very nice stay. I would recommend this hotel to other travellers, we felt that overall, it was very good value for the money. Aside from not getting the rooms next to each other as desired, the hotel was fine. It was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was convenient, the location great, staff polite, and we were very happy with the stay.

The location was very convenient for a visit to UNH. Most importantly, to me, the room was extremely clean and comfortable. Crisp white sheets and no bedspread make for a restful night's sleep. Four comfortable pillows for each double bed. (I never feel at ease when there is a grungy bedspread -- it's outdated and unsanitary). Overall, the hotel had […] a nice smell, maybe they pump it in, but it makes a difference in how you feel when you arrive. The free breakfast was good and the eating area was pleasant.
