Ligging.
Hilton San Diego Bayfront ligt handig vlak bij de luchthaven, in het hartje van San Diego, op loopafstand van San Diego Convention Center en Petco Park. In de buurt liggen ook Vliegdekschipmuseum en San Diego-Coronado Bridge.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Hilton San Diego Bayfront heeft een volledig uitgeruste spa, een healthclub en een buitenzwembad. In openbare ruimtes is tegen betaling een internetverbinding (draadloos of via kabel) beschikbaar. Dit hotel met 4 sterren beschikt over zakelijke voorzieningen waaronder een businesscentrum, vergaderruimtes voor kleine groepen en een limousine- of autoservice. Dit hotel heeft 3 restaurants. Daarnaast heb je ook een koffiebar/café, een zwembadbar en een bar/lounge. Het personeel kan op verzoek een conciërgeservice, hulp bij excursies/tickets en een huwelijksservice regelen. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een spa, een fitnesscentrum en meertalig personeel. Parkeerruimte is tegen betaling beschikbaar, maar beperkt. Dit is een rookvrije accommodatie.
Hotelkamers.
Alle kamers hebben uitzicht op de stad, het zwembad of het water. Hilton San Diego Bayfront heeft 1190 kamers met airconditioning die zijn voorzien van een minibar en een kluis. Alle bedden hebben driedubbele lakens en premium beddengoed. Bij betaling kan een snelle internetverbinding (draadloos of via kabel) worden aangeboden. Elke kamer heeft een plasmatelevisie met premiumkanalen via de kabel en betaalfilms. Alle kamers beschikken over een bureau, ergonomische stoelen en een telefoon met directe buitenlijn met voicemail en gratis lokale gesprekken (hiervoor kunnen beperkingen gelden). Elke badkamer is voorzien van een föhn en gratis toiletartikelen.
Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een gratis krant en een koffiezetapparaat/waterkoker. Bovendien kun je op verzoek gebruikmaken van voorzieningen zoals massagebehandelingen op de kamer en een telefonische wekdienst. Een huishoudservice is dagelijks beschikbaar. Op de kamers van Hilton San Diego Bayfront mag niet worden gerookt.

We hadden een kamer met uitzicht op de tropische tuin, prachtig. Kamer van alle gemakken voorzien. Wel veel problemen gehad bij het inchecken: men vroeg om onze creditcard als borg voor eventuele uitgaven die wij tijdens ons verblijf zouden maken. Onze card werkte echter niet en dat werd als een (abnormaal) groot probleem gezien; ondanks dat wij aanboden om tot 500 dollar cash te 'betalen'; men wilde ons zelfs in 1e instantie als gast weigeren, terwijl het hotel natuurlijk al via hotels.com betaald was. Zeer onaangenaam en men ging pas meewerken nadat we erg hebben opgespeeld; uiteindelijk 100 dollar borg betaald. Geen leuk begin van een verder overigens prima verblijf daar.

Prima locatie om van daaruit San Diego te ontdekken. Naar o.a. de Zoo, het Balbaopark en ophaaladres van huurauto gebracht en opgehaald met shuttledienst van het hotel, ideaal. Schone kamer, van alle gemakken voorzien. Redelijk ontbijt met plastic bordjes en bestek.

Heerlijk hotel, niet ver van Sea World, San Diego Zoo, uss Midway, Gaslamp, Old Town en het strand. Allemaal binnen acceptabele tijd per auto te bereiken. Super mooi hotel met ruime kamers. Het is wel een gehorig hotel, wat vooral in het weekend lawaai met zich mee bracht van buren. Door de weeks was de marine aan de overkant van het water met trainingen bezig. Dit vonden wij niet heel storend, maar het geluid is er wel. Verder zit ontbijt er niet bij in en is heel duur als je dat nog bij wilt nemen. Dat is echt een minpunt. Als je dit hotel boekt, hou er rekening mee dat het twee locaties zijn. Wij zaten in de tower en het 'grotere gebeuren' was verder op. We hadden wel een lobby, servicebalie, restaurant en verwarmd zwembad, dus dat is prima voor elkaar. De starbucks en de grote lobby van de foto's zit in het andere gedeelte. De kamers zijn echt super ruim! We hadden een ruim zitgedeelte en eettafel erbij, en dat voor een gewone kamer. Uitzicht op zee was erg mooi.

Het hotel ligt in de zogenoemde hotel circle, een een groep van meerdere hotels rondom een snelweg die door de stad loopt. Het hotel was goed geprijst en zeer schoon en netjes, wat dat betreft een grote aanrader. Met een (klein) zwembad, spa en fitness al met al zeer comfortabel en een goedkoop alternatief voor de dure hotels op centralere plekken. Nadeel is wel dat je niet naar de stad kan lopen en altijd met een bus of auto moet, en zoals gezegd niet op een romantische locatie. Bus/metrostation is wel in de buurt op circa 10 minuten lopen, halte fashion valley (groot winkelcentrum). Personeel zeer vriendelijk, ook mogelijkheid om auto te huren (verhuurder zit in het hotel).
Afhankelijk van het hotelbeleid kan voor extra personen een toeslag worden aangerekend.
Bij het inchecken dien je in het geval van incidentele kosten een erkend identiteitsbewijs en een borgsom in contanten of creditcard voor te leggen.

De restaurants en bars van deze wijk zijn het middelpunt van het nachtleven van de stad. Balboa Park en de San Diego Zoo zijn de groene strook van deze stedelijke jungle. Op Coronado Island heb je een prachtig uitzicht op de skyline van de stad.

"modern hotel confusing pool"
The stay was nice and the view was great. The poolexperience was strange. The front desk said the elevator takes you down to one....it was a main lobby where there are no signs directing you. Turned left down a hallway towards a restroom...no pool sign or door available...a very nice employee guided me to a fire exit and opened that for me. Found the […] pool. If you are wet and have to walk back,be careful its a marble floor and slippery plus many people in line for the restaurant. Beautiful pool...great for laps. Lees meer

This quirky, left field, maybe even hip boutique Hotel is positioned perfectly for a fun few days in LA.....a very cleverly remodeled old Motel, very clean, good amenities, great location with surprisingly good food, great outdoor dining, entertainment area around a classic 60's pool. I go to San Diego frequently for trade shows and usually stay several blocks away from the conention center due to cost. I was very pleased with pricing via hotels.com for this property which I wouldn't normally stay at because of very high rates. I'll definitely check this hotel out when I'm in SD again.

"Luxury hotel near it all"
I stayed here on business, and got a very good rate from Hotels.com. Across the street from Petco stadium, next door to the convention center, and the trolley is just outside. Not to worry though, the soundproofing is excellent, and there was zero noise. Also, you're right on the ocean, so the views are great. Karin in concerige scored me VIP comps […] to the "207" nightclub at the Hard Rock across the street whichi was highly appreciated. I did not eat in any of the restaurants, or use any of the gym facilities, but both looked very nice. A great choice. BTW, like all the hotels downtown, parking is hugely expensive, but there are a million lots to park in that are affordable. No reason to use the valet parking at the hotel. Lees meer

I needed access to the internet for work. I think wifi should be included in the cost of the room. There was not a refrigerator or microwave in the room. Which is helpful for cold water, leftovers and sodas.

"A great place to stay to enjoy city and sea view"
The hotel was very well positioned to access the Gas lamp district and most importantly the Petco stadium for watching baseball games. There was always someone on hand to offer support. Having starbucks, bars and other restaurants as part of the hotel complex were very useful for breakfast and late night dinner on arrival! Would have benefited from […] a fridge in the room! i love hiltons. about this one, the room was ok. abit small, but confy. i dont like room without balcony. and thats the deal with all hotels that have high floors... eventhough the view is amazing,i always wanna go out to the balcony. anyway, i was on a wheelchair accessible room, it wasnt big, but definitly enough, i spent one night. i ordered inroom […] breakfast which was heaven. the parking is a little bit wierd,as for wheelchair, it was all full so i had to look for parking somwhere else, in general, beautifull rooms, with amazing views,and nice entertaining media system, good food, very clean shik. eventhought the pictures on the wall aint my taste, the rest of the design was really nice. The Hilton San Diego Bayfront was amazing - the room was gorgeous, comfortable and spacious. Plus it didn't hurt that we walking distance from Petco Park and the Gas Lamp district.

Although the over all stay was good, I could not use my own 3G service within my room. Forcing us to pay for the hotel's wireless service. Not to mention, We were unable to make a phone call or text from our room.
"BAYFRONT CONVENIENCE"
I've stayed here before and got a great room rate with Hotels.com. Great luxury hotel on the waterfront with lots of open space around it. Right next door to the Convention Center. I use the gym alot, and their exercise room was just fair, although the equipment was modern -- wasn't really fully equipped. East access to Trolley Line, which I use whenever […] I'm in San Diego to avoid a rental car fee. Also used the pool outside, which was also very clean, but there were so many kids in it splashing and going every which way, I couldn't do a lap without interruption. Also, it was windy outside, and although the pool is heated, it isn't heated that well and was a little on the cold side. I also had trouble with the ATM machine inside, trying to get some cash. There happened to be some ATM service guy inside by the machine while I was trying to use it. The first time I entered my code number, it failed to give me the cash. I told the service guy, and he was playing around with the antenna on top of the machine, and mentioned it was located in a poor spot, and was going to recommend that management move it. So I tried again, and finally got the money. When I called my automated bank line the next day to check, I was charged twice for the one withdrawal, but then learned I got one of those charges reversed as a credit on my checking account, so everything turned out OK. "Nice Modern Hotel"
Very nice modern hotel near Petco and Gaslamp. Great walking and running along the San Diego Bay. Embarcadero leads right to Seaport Village and Midway. Hotel is very convenient for most of SD attractions. Would stay at this hotel again.

Excellent location within walking distance to great shopping and restaurants. Convenient Enterprise car rental onsite to explore other areas of San Diego. We will definitely return.

"Perfect Location & Great View!"
The hotel was 10 minutes from Coronado Island and a quick walk to the Petco Stadium and Gaslamp. Beautiful view of the bay with miles of walking, jogging, and biking paths. Also, there was lots of grass areas if you had kids with you, would be perfect for letting them run around. Most of the service was great, but I was dissapointed timeliness of the […] front desk to answer the phone. I called int he morning to ask a question about my bill and check-out and it rang about 10 times before I finally just hung up. I then tried calling over to the concierge desk hoping they could transfer me over to the front desk, but once again no one answered and it went to voicemail. Lees meer

"Hilton-Bayside"
The Hilton Bayside was close to the Seaside Village and the U.S.S. Midway. However, we were at a Convention at the hotel so we didn't see much. Our banquet meal was good and since I have GF, they were very attentive to me.

We just ran the San Diego Half Marathon at Petco Park and this hotel was cheaper than the sponsor hotel and the rooms were great! The overhead bridge gave us easy access to Petco Park and the Gaslamp. Service was great and we will definitely stay here again!

Great hotel five minutes from the Gaslamp district and all its great shops, restaurants, etc. We were three couples celebrating our anniversary and the hotel and its staff was amazing. While you're there don't miss your opportunity to visit the Wine Bank and Donovan's Steak House!!!

The staff was very friendly and helpful, I left my boots int he lobby after i checked out and they are mailing them to me for free. he bar downstairs has awesome bartenders and I love the patio. Nice to wake up in the morning and go to the jacuzzi and heated pool, then Starbucks right downstairs. Im definitley staying here again!!!
