Grand Hotel Times in Québec

Breakfast area is pretty small. Get there early or eat in your room.

The hotel was very clean and well taken care of. The only partof the stay that i didn't like was the continental breakfast. It was like a feeding frenzy without any seating. The hotel was a good choice, with a good price, nicely decorated, staff very friendly, you can even buy wine at the front desk and take your bottle up to the rooms. The Hotel is a bit away from "the happenings" but only about 15 min, so if you have a car, the nice place, the nice smell, the environment in the hotel, is worth the distance.

The hotel was very clean, comfortable and had an very nice lobby. The people were very friendly, the pool was very clean and the exercise room convenient. The room was very nice and I think it was a good value. It was a short drive to downtown Quebec City, and a short drive to the falls, and St. Anne's Basilica, it was a good location for me, not liking […] to stay in downtown hotels. Lees meer

Urban style hotel, location close to Old Town; VERY comfortable beds! Included breakfast which made it easy in the morning; GREAT VALUE

Nice Hotel, clean and roomy and very confortable beds. Liked the choice of having a fridge and microwave oven in the room. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable - good advise and directions to sight seeings. Breakfast not so good - fruit was dry, coffee cups too small - Overall, good experience.

We found the hotel to be ideal for a relaxing three day trip to Quebec. It is a bit far from the old city but the local tour company one day picked us up at the hotel. There was a nice restaurant half mile away and the breakfast in the hotel that was complimentary had a nice selection.

We chose the hotel based on proximity to Quebec city, free parking, and free breakfast. - It is a short drive into the city, but there is unfortunately no convenient public transportation. It would be awesome if the hotel offered a shuttle into old Quebec, but it does not. We had a car, this was not a huge deal for us. - The surrounding area is very […] boring, just commercial malls. The mall across the street is gigantic, and has an amusement park for children in there and an ice rink. We are not into shopping, so the mall did not add to our experience. Others may like it. - The decor in the hotel is modern and sleek, a grey and red color scheme. I found it to be on the cold side, but hey, it is a matter of taste. - We requested a fridge in the room, and got one and even a microwave. That was great!!! (No coffee machine, though). - Now to the breakfast. The only good thing about it is that it is free. Other than that, it was a disaster. On weekends, the breakfast area was packed (a madhouse). On weekdays it was fine. The items are cheap and carelessly offered. E.g. there is fresh fruit, but cut up into huge chunks including its peel and just thrown into bowls like that. On some days, this included pineapples and cantaloupes, on other just oranges. The re-filling of items was slow. So you may or may not get any hard-boiled eggs (the only egg choice) or yoghurt (just one flavor per day). The worst part was the breads! They are just putting out supermarket breads in bags, (and bagels, which are a bit better), but DON'T MONITOR THEIR FRESHNESS! A fellow guest found a bread loaf in a bag covered in green mold entirely. I am not exaggerating! I saw it with my own eyes. I found and English muffin with a green patch on it, too. ( I am willing to forget about the latter... it can happen with pre-packaged stuff). But the bread is a different story. Overall, lots of mixed feelings. Lees meer

It would be nice if it had a shuttle service to take you domn town .Very nice and cllean and help full staff.

Great non-smoking hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Not too far fom Old Quebec. Surrounding area included a mall and a variety of good restaurants.

although we wanted to stay in the old city, we were swayed by better prices, free parking and free breakfast. we had a car so the short drive to the old city was inconsequential. the hotel was great although the room smelled a wee bit of mildew. the staff was impressive.

We booked the hotel and realized that it was further away from downtown than our hotel booked in Ste. Foy last year. We decided to keep the booking based on the reviews we read. It took us a little more effort to find than last year but once we became familar with the routes it was not a problem. The hotel is located next to the Galeries du Capital […] ( Capital Mall). There were a few restaurants also in the area, however we ate mostly downtown. The room was very nice and comfortable. The continental breakfast was okay bread, bagels, cereal, fruit salad, cheese , coffee and juice ,however could of used a few more items like yogurt for example. The eating area was small so tables were much in demand especially with young families at the hotel. Overall we would recommend especially if you trips involve using the 40 to go out of town for trips as the exit ramp was close to the hotel. However we will probably stay in Ste Foy region next time as it is closer to where we wanted to go downtown and was more straight forward. Lees meer

Everything was excellent with the exception of breakfast. Not enough of a variety.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. We were a little taken aback by the cologne scent in the main lobby since it was fairly strong. Breakfast was nothing to write home about, but there was something to eat which was all I needed to get out the door. The proximity to the mall was great. Any family with kids would love the games and rides in the mall. […] So much fun! Being close to some of e highwys made it easy to get to wherever you were headed quickly. Lees meer

This was our second time visiting the Grand Times Hotel in Québec. The hotel is situated in front of the Galeries de la Capitale which was very pratical since there was rain one of the days we were there. The hotel is very "zen" with cement walls and a very modern feel. The daily continental breakfast consists of differents kinds of breads and bagels […] along with fruit, juice, coffee. Very simple but pratical to start off the day. The hotel is about 10 minutes away from Old Quebec. Everything is clean and well maintained. We were very impressed that the bathtub was one piece instead of a bathtub with ceramic tiles that tend to get stained between the joints. We felt at home and will certainly stay there again the next time we visit Quebec city. Lees meer

Nice place and quiet. I was expecting the worst since it was the same night as the Metellica show on the PLaines d'Abrahame. The personnel was fantastic. I would come back anytime.

The hotel is only 15 minutes outside the heart of Quebec city. Went back and forth multiple times. You will need a rental car. Discount was pretty cheap and they were just around the corner. There is a huge mall next to the hotel. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was a rat race. Overall it was good

This hotel was very good and comfortable for my family. The Bath was big especially the tub. The hotel I believe is brand new. the staff were very courteous and helpful. If I have to stay in Quebec I would choose the same hotel again. There is a walmart near by with McDonald's in it and there was also a Japanese and Thai restaurants. There was a mall […] near by with Sears 2 banks and a gas station. Overall it was a very convenient location. The wireless internet is free. Lees meer

Hotel is located away from the city however not too far those with a car rental will find it extremely convenient. Hotel is new, clean, staff are friendly, free internet in the lobby. Area that the hotel is located in resembles a retail park, a couple of malls are close by via driving distance. I would recommend if you want to take taxi's although hotel […] will need to arrange this for you or if you have a rental car. All in all a great hotel, very modern and clean. Lees meer

The hotel staff was very nice and friendly, they definitely go out of their way to please their customers, breakfast was nothing special but it's included so there's nothing to complain about, room was clean. The hotel is about 5 minutes from old Quebec, so the location is very convenient. If we decide to visit Quebec again, we'll most likely end up […] staying @ Grand Times again... Lees meer

I had higher expectations for this hotel since it was labelled as a 4 star hotel. The rooms were nice and big, but the walls were cement with holes in them. It made it feel like I was in a prison for some reason. However, it had a nice smell and the place was exceptionally clean. The lobby was really pretty and chic. The breakfast is terrible. Hotel was great: friendly staff, very modern, very clean. Great value. Only disappointment is the breakfast which is more like those of a 1 start than a 4 star hotel.

The location is 10 minutes drive from old city and 15 minutes from airport. Very clean and stylistic hotel. Very nice lobby. Our rooms (king bed) was spacious and so the bathroom. Nice view to the city. Very quiet. We booked it because it has parking, breakfast and wireless internet, all included in the room price - which is quite rare to be found on […] Quebec hotels. But you must have a car to drive to the city. The breakfast is quite simple, but it's enough to start the day. Lees meer

It's a sophisticated uptown hotel, central to everything in Quebec. Just 15-20 minutes to everywhere.
