The Esmeralda Inn at Lake Lure in Chimney Rock

Loved the hotel - had a bed and breakfast feel with the privacy of a hotel. Gardens were beautiful! Staff was very helpful and friendly. I didn't think the room was well represented on the website - double check so that you know what you're getting. Me and my wife came here on a one night getaway first time in area enjoyed room very much, very nice area we came before everything was opening for season so we missed out on some of the area locations.

wasn't too friendly. He was kind of rude, to the point, etc. We were the only ones there and it was like 8:00pm but still. Oh well, cute room, location, etc.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Esmeralda Inn. The outdoor dining area was beautiful; the hotel was very well maintained; the outdoor spa was very relaxing after a long hot day of golf. Highly recommended.

My husband & I stayed at the Esmeralda for a weekend get-a-way & it was fabulous. So comfortable, very clean, extremely beautiful. A beautiful property with owners on-sight. A bit off the beaten path from the interstate but worth the ride. Restaurant was excellent for breakfast and dinner.

A very lovely Inn with friendly, helpful staff! Enjoyed the game room on the 2nd floor, as well. Just a beautiful atmosphere for a nice weekend get away.

Very friendly staff. Cleanest place I have ever stayed, The walk along the river was very uplifting.

overall great stay but our room was a little warm and it didnt seem like the air conditioning was working right. When I told the person at the desk about it as we checked out she didnt seem to care much but just commented that "wall air conditioners do that sometimes".

My wife and I stayed at the Esmeralda for Valentines day. The staf was wonderful and friendly, the food was excellent, and the setting beautiful. The hotel has been exceptionally restored and we enjoyed the stay very much.

The facilities, staff, food & service were absolutely perfect. Location & ambiance were impressive. Weather was a little chilly...but it's December in the NC mountains. We highly recommend this place! Quaint shops in the downtown area & Chimney Rock park make this a terrific weekend getaway!

We were thrilled with The Esmerelda! Everything was immaculate and the furniture and beds were amazing & super comfortable!! We chatted with the owner at night while sitting by the fire, and the wine and cheese in the afternoon was fantastic. It was very quiet and clean. The restaurant was delicious! The chef, Steve, is amazing and chatted with us after […] dinner, and Theresa was our server and the sweetest woman. I thought that the hotel was perfect for a small getaway. I would recommend it to anyone that is going away for a nice romantic getaway. The town of chimney rock isn't the largest, but it has a ton to offer anyone that visits, including Chimney Rock state park. Definitely need to go here if you can find the time!

The hotel ads were misleading in that the ads say it is ON the lake. It is about 2 miles to Lake Lure. But the hotel is lovely, the beds and pillows are wonderful, and it is very clean. It has a nice on-site restaurant that is good and serves 3 meals each day. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

The Esmerelda has wonderful, relaxing porches and a great Inn atmosphere. Our room was very comfortable, from the bed to the pillows to the bath.

Upon checkin the desk clerk was not the friendlist. When i immediately walked through the doors, without saying hi or happy to have you, he said "i need some kind of papers because i no we do not have any more guest checking in". I told him that i have a confirmation number and all and he said that doesnt mean anything. He even made me pull up my email […] on his computer to prove that i have an reservation. I tried to get him to type my name in but he kept saying, "i dont have anymore checkins", well about 15 minutes later he finally decided to type my last name in and he said "THERE IT IS", since i had made my reservation through hotel.com they had to check me in admatically. After getting checked in he handed me the keys. He didnt even apologize for being so rude. Other than that everything was great. The rooms are a bit small, but it was fine. Lees meer

The added touches “Wine & cheese in the afternoon" etc.. A great place to stay. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The Restaurant served good food that was fairly priced. We will be back!

The rooms were small but comfortable. Did not know that The village of Chimney Rock is "dry", however The Esmeralda Inn is permitted to serve 2 glasses of wine with dinner at their superb restaurant. Liquor can be purchased in Lake Lure and brought back to the inn.

Lovely place to stay in Chimney Rock. Room confortable--food delicious

This is a very nice property. Rooms are somewhat small but nicely appointed. All areas have been carefully decorated with quality furniture, supplies, etc. Just wish they could open the Restaurant and the Spa that are on premise. Recommend for couples.
