My boyfriend and I have stayed here before, actually in the same room. The hotel staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean. The only downfalls that I can really speak of are the size of the bathrooms which are small (like your knees and face are touching the wall when you sit on the toilet). And the EC unit in our room apparently also controls other […] rooms so we got a couple calls throughout our 2 night stay from the hotel staff asking about our EC unit. The staff was friendly enough and the location was fine. The room itself was not terribly impressive for the price we paid. The air conditioner in the room sounded like a freight train and the room was small even for a single queen. We had an equally small window that overlooked a church at the intersection of two busy roads. just fair. rooms are really small as others have stated. plumbing was an issue - toilet probs and minor other stuff. i was in and out overnight so i didn't get to see how maintenance responded. great concept, it was clean and quiet (thursday nite prior to vacation season) - don't know if i'd stay again though. did like the rate.

We stayed 2 nights and the room we stayed in was small but cute and clean. The staff was awesome and gave great recommendations for restaurants! The only thing i would say that was not that great was parking. They have 2 lots and the second one is down away from the hotel but overall i thought it was great. This hotel was clean. The staff was friendly. It felt safe because we had to have keys to get into the hotel before and after certain times of the day. The hotel was walking distance to the beach and many shops and restaurants.

Overall, I feel the hotel is great. The two staff members I had contact with were very friendly and helpful. I stayed at this hotel on a Friday and Saturday night mid-April. This hotel is on the main strip of Virginia Beach, a very convenient place to stay if you like hitting the beach. Parking wasn't bad, but the overflow lot is about a block away. […] I don't know if I would recommend this hotel when the beach area is crowded if you value a good night's sleep. Given its very convenient location, there are a lot of people walking past the hotel. The room I had was not well insulated from street noise, and this was off season. Due to my reason for being in VA Beach, I had to get up at 4am. The A/C unit just wasn't loud enough to provide white noise to drown out street noise (a quiet A/C can also be a plus depending on your needs) when loud people walked by. It rained Saturday night, so there weren't many people out. I imagine during a really nice summer night, the streets would be very loud. Also, the walls seem to be a bit thin as I could hear people in nearby rooms ( a couple was possibly on their honeymoon) even at 1am. The bed was very comfortable. Room was equipped with a large dorm fridge and a microwave. Room was very clean. I would consider staying here again as it met my needs, but only during off-season. Lees meer

The 19 Atlantic Hotel was exactly what we were looking for. My husband and I were looking for a place at the beach that didn't cost a fortune and was in walking distance of the ocean and most stores. We chose this hotel because it looked like the most unique place available on hotels.com. If you drive up from the back it's definitely not as cute as it looks in the picture, but the lobby and our room were finished nicely. Many other reviews said that their rooms were small but our room was a good size. It's still early in the season but noise wasn't […] really an issue either. Negatives: Although not downright unpleasant, most of the staff seemed pretty indifferent. There was a piece of trash in the elevator when we checked in that was still there the next morning when we checked out. There were some unfinished repair projects in the bathroom and the bath mat was moldy. The room was freezing when we checked in and the heater was very noisy. I live in a single wide trailer, and my bedrooms are bigger than the room we had. It was on a corner and cold air came in from both sides. I had to use the hairdryer to heat the bathroom in the morning.

I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel does not look fantastic from the outside. They have done a good job with what they had to work with. The location is great, the lobby nice, better carpeting in the halls would help the appearance but the room, although small, was clean, well appointed, had fairly recent decor, the bed was comfortable, there was […] a dorm refrigerator, plenty of towels, and a good showerhead. We did not really need the staff except to check in and out but that went quickly and smoothly. Overall, for the money, this is a definite thumbs up. PROS: The hotel was nice... "boutiquey", I suppose. It had cool amenities and a friendly staff. It was perfect walking distance to the convention center, restaurants, the beach, the strip, and the marathon course. CONS: IT WAS SO LOUD. I'm not sure whether all of the hotels in the area experience this... but we could hear everything going on outside. […] Granted... it was labor day weekend and the Rock n' Roll half marathon... but there was no peace. Hotel is close to everything, beach, restaurants and other fun activities. It is also clean and has a cool roof deck that no one told us about.The thing is that the rooms are TINY.

Room was tiny. Parking lot was three blocks away and I was only aloud one parking spot so the other person I met there had to park 10 blocks away and pay $20 for over night parking. Staff was rude.

The stay at 19 Atlantic Hotel was better than I had expected. Once stepping into the foyer, the cleanliness of the hotel was evident. The room was better than expected with top comfort and cleanliness. Finding a smoke free room has proven to be tough until the 19 Atlantic Hotel.

Very nice desk staff. They allowed us to check-in early, which also helped with the parking situation (Checked in on a weekday at noon). Hotel was very clean and had nice modern furnishings. Hotel was in very convenient location to bars and restaurants. Perfect for a night or two for night life.

This was the first 4, plus hotel I've stayed at through hotels.com.. Except for parking, the stay was great. I expected more, believe it or not, but it does rank with my top 5 hotel stays. I usually take about 15 to 20 trips a year, and with a discount this hotel is a good stay.

Great location. Wasn't thrilled about hotel service as they tried to convince us that "standard" double room was an upgrade from the queen room we booked. The problem was quickly resolved but the front desk staff never seemed overly friendly and the coffee in the lobby was always empty!

Some of the rooms are located above a bar and a guest with children did complain about the noise lasting till early in the am. This was not my experience but you should note that the location is on the main strip so factor in the season and location when booking.

This hotel has the potential to be a fantastic boutique hotel, but clearly the owner is not willing to invest sufficient funds to achieve that potential. Instead, he has smartly marketed it as such, adding the bare minimum surface touches (smart looking linens, bath & bodyworks toiletries, deceptive photography). Room was tiny, bed uncomfortable, cheaply […] furnished. Amenities not replenished completely or with an eye to detail (grit in the ice-bucket). No exhaust fan in bathroom. Carpet that left me fearful of fungus. Cheap creamer and no lids for "complimentary' coffee. Great roof deck, though, and great bones and great location. The woman at the front desk made a point of telling us great couple things to do in VA beach. You could tell she really wanted us to have a great time and the room was amazing, simple but you didn't feel like you were in a hotel, or sleeping in a bed hundreds have already slept in.

The hotel was pretty good considering how cheap it was to stay here. The only complainant I really had about this hotel is that the bathroom sink and toilet water smelled like the sewer.
