Bewleys Hotel Ballsbridge in Dublin

Friendly and helpful service. Reception printed our flight boarding cards for us. Great traditional Irish breakfast and clean rooms. Will certainly return on our next trip to Dublin.

A very poor and old 3star. Breakfast was also very poor

Enjoyed our stay at the Bewleys Ballsbridge. Rooms were basic but perfectly clean and had everything needed. It does not provide separate shampoos/shower gels etc but I knew that going. Myself and my husband stayed in Bewleys Hotel Ballsbridge Dublin with our 2 very young children for a new year getaway weekend. The location is excellent and well serviced by public transport. We booked based on the keen price point and found the cost to be fair but dont expect any luxuries for what you are paying. The public areas of the hotel are […] quite nice and well maintained. However, on arrival we found that tea/coffee cups had not been changed/cleaned as there was a sticky sugar and tea substance at the bottom of the cups and even hair on the saucers! That said, the room was otherwise comfortable, warm and clean. There was plenty on offer for breakfast which was delicious and is buffet style (not so great with 2 young children as you are trying to load up trays with them in tow). Dining in the lounge and restaurant was fine. Tasty and not extortionately priced. The bathroom facilities are nothing special with a basic soap dispenser rather than toiletries on offer. The staff were quite nice especially the maitre d at breakfast who gave the children colouring books and crayons and had some kind words for them which was a relief as up till then we felt this was definitely not a hotel for smaller kids. But dont expect a massive welcome or farewell production from the reception staff who (for me anyway) only seemed interested in swiping the credit card and not much else. I gave this hotel an average rating because while I didnt have much to complain about, I didnt have anything to be excited about either. Not perfect if you have younger children but well priced if you fancy a one or two night stay to take in the sights of the city. Lees meer

A very good, modern hotel at an excellent price, in a beautiful part of Dublin. Very handy for RDS, Lansdown Rd, Ballsbridge and Sandymount, and only 3 mins walk from the closest Dart station, so getting in and out of the centre and all stations on the coast is a breeze. Stay here in comfort and for half the price of the city centre.

This hotel is in a most lovely part of Dublin City. Easy access to city centre with buses nearby. Hotel is old but interior is decorated very well and rooms are modern. Fantastic stay with no problems/difficulties at a great price through hotels.com. Definitely recommend staying here.

This hotel in Dublin 4 is excellently located. Close to the Bus and DART and also beside the RDS. Situated in a former school, there are still some some glimpses of it's former life. Staff are well trained, rooms are comfortable and the bar and restaurant are good. Would recommend this hotel.

We've stayed just for one night. The hotel was very conveniently located. The hotel was cheap but otherwise unimpressive. Outside looks nice, restaurant looked pretty, however breakfast was unimpressive (pastry, maybe full Irish is better). They are charging for parking a tenner overnight - it's unbelievable since most other hotels don't charge anything. […] Rooms are very basic, not much space for clothes even though the rooms were spacious enough. Furniture is a bit old. I wouldn't go there for more than a night. All in all basic. We stayed in Mespil before so we'll stick to it in future, it's pretty similar but with a slightly better location and a bit better rooms I thought, and they don't charge for parking (if you get a spot). Am here at Bewley's as I write this so fresh impression. Have spent three nights here with wife and two kids. Nice place, pleasant staff, room was clean. Room quality is similar to a good motel room in the USA. No real complaints other than TV in room is an old style 19" tube TV. On other hand, have free wired and wireless Internet in room so very nice […] for making Skype calls home. Car parking on premise is ample and easy to get in and out, albeit there is a 10Euro/day charge. Have not tried the restaurant on premise so no comment. About 2 kilometers outside central Dublin BUT, after being stuck in central Dublin traffic tonight for over an hour to cover a 1/2 kilometer distance...I think being outside is quite OK...and easier to get out toward countryside when one wants. 12:00pm checkout is also nice when recovering from jetlag! Overall, am happy with Bewleys and would recommend it as a clean and comfortable enough hotel to stay at in Dublin. Lees meer

Charging for parking so far from City Centre was the only drawback.

very convenient for the Aviva Stadium where we were attending an event. Staff very friendly, hotel very comfortable and would definitely would stay there again-provided the price would stay within the normal persons range..

We stayed here for 2 nights while making a brief stop in Dublin. The neighborhood is very posh and incredibly safe. It's a short taxi ride to anywhere you need to go in the city center. The staff and over all stay was very pleasant. The restaurant/pub was very modern and comfortable. The food was great and the service was top notch! never again, had 3 rooms booked and when arrived back at hotel at 2.10am the residents bar was closed and the staff were rude and would not give Drink to anyone.not what we paid for.

excellent stay in bewleys hotel ballsbridge ambience, food, staff, rooms could not be faulted will cetainly stay there again and highly recommend to my friends

Great hotel, walking distance of a dart station. Food in hotel resturant was excellent, hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Will stay in this hotel again in the future.

Loacation was wonderful! Easy access to airport buses and Dublin bus & DART...Staff extremely helpful. Hotel has a sense of history & character...Highly recommend!

Staff not very helpful or friendly except for one waiter in the dining room. Had to ask multiple times about parking and where/when dining was available. Asked for an accessible room but didn't realize that meant it would be in the basement! The one window had a view of pipes and bricks. The location was very handy for main Dublin access on buslines […] (would be nice for them to have a link on the site to show connections so each traveler doesn't have to work it out every time). The surrounding neighborhood was a fascinating mix of foreign embassies (British, American, etc.) and fairgrounds. Would stay there again (just not in the basement!) but too bad that by the time we figured out how everything worked it was time to leave. Lees meer

No soap in the shower, the entire hotel just feels like it's tired, and showing it's years - the carpets, the decor. The restaurants were nothing to write home about. The wine selection for the glass or 1/4 bottle is terrible.

Room/Hotel was OK but could've been better. Good: Comfy beds. Kettle for tea and coffee Big bath. Shops, bars and bustop nearby. AirCoach stops outside. Bad: No toiletries No fridge or mini bar. Window only opened a crack. Breakfast is expensive.

Hotel was dirty in general. Service very poor after a few complaints, one of which was blood on a pillow. Baby chairs covered in ground in food. Although it was cheap it's below what I was expecting. Not recommended. Not be back.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and found it to be a very nice comfortable hotel. Staff was great, hotel was very clean and the tour bus and airport shuttle bus come directly to the hotel. For a European hotel is was good size and the bathrooms was very nice. Room included things like hair dryer, and free wireless.

Although the hotel looks lovely from the exterior and the bar/restaurant are very nice, the family rooms on the lower ground floor could be doing with being upgraded as they are a little bit sad. Overall the hotel was decent enough for the price.

1) Breakfast not included 2) No tea served with breakfast in room make your own tea. 3) Breakfast served at 9.15am and not at 9.00am as requested. 4) push button for shower was faulty. 5) Car park cost 10 euro per night. 6)Hidden extras not explained fully when booking.

It was Horse Show Weekend and the hotel was very busy. However, the breakfast area carpet was very dirty and off putting. In the bar area the seating and carpet also needed attention. Customer service was polite and friendly and the room reasonably comfortable. Stayed during Horse Show week for the last few years and find the staff very helpful during this particulary busy period. However the cleanliness of the general area of the hotel during this week is not great. I am mindful the staff are dealing with clients who would bring in extra dirt/dust on their clothes and footwear during this week from the stables. […] As a manager in my own employment I feel the hotel managemet should increase the level of staff if necessary to deal with this extra cleaning needed for this week. The toilets over the weekend of the horseshow would also need extra care during this extremely social week. It has an excellent location for the Horse Show and these issues would not stop me from staying there in the future. Lees meer

Wanted a comfortable hotel and were extremely impressed. Not in the centre, but dart train and buses were frequent. Managed to check in at 10am as rooms were available. Extremely comfortable. Bar prices were similar to that in Dublin Town Centre. Did not eat at the restaurant. Only down side were that the shampoo/hand wash holders did not work - we […] didn't report this though. Very reasonable price,but basic. Clean rooms and friendly staff. The bedrooms are not soundproof, and there is a lot of ambient noise,even on the top floor. Restaurant isgood and not expensive.

Extremely comfortable bed and pillows, very comfortable room, quiet and convenient location. Will definitely stay again. Excellent value for money. Staff exceptionally helpful and polite.

We have stayed in this hotel over weekend in July. Price was competitive, but it meant that we have only got bed and towels, nothing else (ie. no shower cap, sample body lotion etc.). Bed was comfortable, but it was very warm in the rooms - no aircon and opening of the windows was very limited. There was coffee and tea making facility, but tea, coffee […] and milk provided were ut of date. After this discovery I was glad we didn't book breakfast in the morning. On the arrival the receptionist couldn't find our reservation, so we ended up waiting almost half an hour to get our keys. There was nothing special about our stay. The bed was large and comfortable. Our room had an outdoor balcony, which we used to get fresh air. The neighborhood is clean and safe. The hotel buiding is beautiful and conveniently located to many attractions in Dublin.

We got a great deal on a 3-night mid-week break. The beds were made up each night, plenty of towels each day, plenty of tea/coffee packs each day (however there was no shampoo, conditioner, shower cap, tissues/cotton pads in bathroom so bring your own). Excellent as usual. I love this hotel, great location very nice place to stay, great value.

The water did not drain in the tub, the toilet ran constantly. The room was good size and clean, the stuff OK, not super-friendly. Location is nice, quiete, a little bit away from the center, but perfect for sleeping and the bus ride is very convenient to the center.

Excellent value for money would definitely stay again.Friendly staff & good breakfast.

Hotel room was good value and although we chose not to eat in the hotel there are lots of options nearby for both food and drink. Also convenient for Dart station into centre of city
