Pelham Court Hotel in Newport

Fantastic hotel very close to the popular shops and restaurants. Very nice rooms. It felt like we we had out own little apartment in Newport! Very friendly and helpful staff. Great parking, and walking distance to all the major attractions. We would definately stay here again! 5 STARS!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night in a studio suite and I cannot say enough good things. The location of this hotel is incredible (right off Thames Street), the staff was helpful, the continental breakfast was varied and great, and the room was beautiful. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay again in the future.

We had such a fun time at our overnight stay at the Pelham Court Hotel and wish we could have stayed longer. Our one-bedroom suite with full kitchen, fireplace, and sleep sofa was perfect for traveling with our children. We had plenty of space and enjoyed the accommodations. My wife and I were absolutely stunned at the size and condition of the one bedroom suite. It was like owning our own condo. Pelham Court is perfectly located for shopping, restaurants and after dinner activity. Never had to take the car out of the parking lot. Good location, comfortable accommodation, self service continental bereakfast laid out downstairs, just bring food to room, quite well equipped. Would be good if they had a laundry room.

This hotel met all our requirements - itis convenient to the town and restaurants and the rooms are well-decorated and extremely comfortable. The best thing is the client parking where you can leave your car while you walk or use public transportation to see Newport.

We expected more items for breakfast and the good attitude of the morning shift person who was providing the breakfast. Also the information from the management was not correct so made some confusion for the travellers. But in jeneal it's nice hotel and location is excelent. but price for the service is a little high.

The one bedroom apartment was very nice. We were very impressed with the decor of everything. Quality design, modern and very clean. Location can't be beat either. Free parking a huge bonus, but fills up early. Don't come back too late or you may be out of luck. The staff is great. The cookies are awesome, but honestly need to be covered along with […] breakfast pastries because there were gnats on them every time I went to eat. Returned to this Hotel, one year to day. It seemed less cared for, a bit tired. The room had carpet stains, stains the couch--just not as up to date or nice as the bourtique style and price would suggest. Can't say I recommend at this point--contray to last year.

This hotel has it all - modern appliances/kitchen, comforts of home, excellent location to shops/attractions and the quiet and charm of a residence. Simply beautiful! A wonderful deal not to be missed

Great rooms, perfect for a long weekend or extended stay. Super expensive just for a quick visit, rooms are more like small apartments. Great customer service and some rooms allow dogs!!!!

Very comfortable. Felt like home. Spotless. Less than 1/2 block to shops and wharf across the street, yet very private. I couldn't give a better recommendation.

Breakfast is not served until 8:30 which was too late for me. It was to be coffee and a roll put out in a corridor which means that it is really bed only. There is a good diner nearby but when you add the cost of a cooked breakfast to the bill it is not such a bargain.

It was our first time to Newport and we didn't know much about the place. We reserved Pelham Court based on user reviews and were thrilled with our selection. Location is very good and near the Newport waterfront. At first glance seems a good spot, until you realize the shortsighted construction and other choices they've made: no soundproofing so you hear every overhead movement, no side table/lamp so you can read in bed, a large living area with only a broken-down sofabed to sit on, no towel bars in the […] absurdly small bathroom. Then comes the "service": continental breakfast items not put out until nearly 9 a.m., office unstaffed most of the time... This is not really a "hotel" and is not actually set up for hotel-level services. As long as you're OK fending for yourself and are willing to put up with shortcomings for location, go for it. Figured we have stayed at 23 separate places in and around Newport and Pelham Court ranks at the top of these. Centrally located, easy walk to shops and restaurants on Thames.Cute suite, just right for two, can accommodate four but it would feel cramped. We had a one room suite on the first floor. Even though it was directly facing Pelham street, we didn't notice any street noise. It was only a few steps to Thames St. and the wharf/restaurants etc. The furnishings were delightful, nice fireplace and well-equipped kitchen. Everything was impeccably clean and the room was cleaned daily. The only possible […] complaint is that after check-in, we never saw any of the staff again. Breakfast appeared in the hallway at 8:30 I believe and the coffee and rolls were great. However, there was nothing for our two teens to drink (no juice or milk). There were boxes of cereal, but no fruit. If there had been fruit and juice or milk available, it would have been perfect. If you are looking for lots of interaction with your host as is often the case at B&B's, we did not find that here. Lees meer

We had a fantastic time in our one-bedroom suite. For a quiet girls weekend it was a lovely suite and gorgeous granite kitchen. The location was perfect and bed was comfy. Only problem was we had 2 noise complaints made when we weren't making noise...... so I'm not sure if the walls are that thin and talking seems noisy to other guests? Or if the guests […] next door were not in their right mind to begin with? Either way.. that did put a negative spin on the hotel to us, as we received 2 noise complaint phone calls and also banging on the wall from our neighboring suite in the morning. This caused us to leave early, as we were appalled we (quietest room in the hotel) were being spoken to about being loud. Other than that.. the hotel was lovely. The hotel room was beautiful. the kept it very clean. the location of the hotel was within walking distance of shops and restaurants. plus it was a quick drive to the newport mansions from the hotel. the staff was excellent.

The girl at check in was very nice and friendly. Gave us all the information we needed and we were able to pick up a map of the town. The suite was amazing! Very clean and great location. The bed was extremely comfortable and reception was great. We called around 11PM asking about a late check out and we had no problems. Our suite was nicely furnished and very comfortable. It was bigger than I expected. The hotel is about 100 feet from Thames Street so it was very convenient. My only complaint was poor snow shoveling, (you had to step over snow banks to reach the entrance), and the coffee station was not replenished in a timely fashion.

This hotel is really nice and conveniently located in Newport. Very nice room, spacious, and newly renovated. Be careful if you stay on a weekend night. Just across the street (50+ feet) is a Newport Night Club. We had thumping bass music until about 1am. Even with the windows closed, you won't get much sleep if you are a light-sleeper like I am. A […] few other suggestions: the hotels come with BARE essentials kitchen items. In fact, I was shocked because our room had beautiful brand new Granite countertops and there was NO cutting board! This is more like renting a luxurious condo than a hotel room, so set your expectations accordingly (breakfast is available in the room rather than served, there really isn't a concierge at your beckon call at 3 in the morning). I travel to Rhode Island 4-6 times per year for business. I've stayed at some of th B&B's and some of the hotels, but the Pelham was by far the best. Its location is ideal for the wharfs and walks along Thames, but the rooms are this hotels best attibute. Its more like a very well kept condo than a hotel room. In the historic area of Newport. Half the price of major hotels and parking is free vs valet required at big hotels. We asked for additional bottles of water and got them gratis. Only 12 rooms in the hotel.

Pelham court exceeded our expectations! We love the layout of the room, the decor and the location. The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. We would recommend it to our friends.

An excellent Hotel in a perfect position. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if we came back to the USA

This hotel was really nice, the parking was really handy as down town Newport is a difficult place to park in. The room was a very high end room. There was a leak in the bathroom that I reported and hopefully they will fix before it ruins anything. All top shelf appliences and flooring. They did a very nice job when they built this inn. We had a wonderful stay at the Pelham Court. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful and pleasant. The 1 bedroom suite was beautifully done, very spacious and comfortable and even had a view of Bannisters Wharf. Open living room and kitchen, high ceilings and large flat panel TV. The hotel could not have been in a more convenient location - right in the […] heart of old Newport and steps from Bannister Wharf. The onsite covered parking was especially convenient as it can be difficult to find parking in Newport. There is a quiet courtyard in the center of the building with a small fountain. The best, But the bathroom floor could have been cleaner

This small all suite hotel is located in the heart of the activity if you want to dine and shop in the dock area of Newport. Park the car and negotiate the crowded streets on foot. Close enough to walk to mansions on Bellevue Ave. and to access the Cliff Walk.

Great hotel, great location and very clean. Had a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend here this past weekend and will definitely stay here again upon my next trip to Newport!

Below that I have included a brief paragraph about how Jim, the Assistant Manager of Pelham Court, saved the day. *Location: Perfect! It’s right off Thames street. If you’ve been to Newport you know Thames is THE place to be for shopping, dining and events. It’s also 6min […] from the mansions. *Décor: Homey and inviting. It’s not stark and sterile like most hotels I’ve been in. The décor is eclectic/traditional and coordinated. Not homogenized, matchy matchy like the chain hotels. The hard wood floors are beautiful. The carpets are plush. You won’t find ugly, mass produced, water colors on the walls. You will feel like your living in a posh, beautiful home during you stay. *Staff: The staff was attentive and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. *Bathroom: Relaxing spa like décor, double sinks, excellent water pressure and temperature, lovely toiletries and plenty of soft but not too soft towels. *Bedroom: Wonderfully comfortable pillow top mattress. Plenty of pillows. Flat screen TV with cable and DVD player. Two windows that open. The charming décor was nice to wake up to. It’s inspired me to redecorate. *Parlor: Our room had a parlor separate from the bedroom. Fire place, large flat panel TV cable, pull out couch and beautiful built ins. Gorgeous lamps, tables and floor. One large window that opens. Very cozy. *Kitchen: Full appliances, dishes, pots and pans and flat ware. Lovely counter tops. This kitchen was 1000 times nice than the one I have at home. My husband stayed at Pelham Court for our 5th wedding anniversary/Christmas. Though Pelham Court is right off Thames street, the main shopping and eating district in Newport, we had difficulty finding the side road it's on.
