Salthill Hotel in Galway

Hotel was excellent, breakfast had everything you could want, waiters very friendly and helpful. Bar very good with nice food and night time entertainment. Room was very clean and large - no sea view but I had not requested one. Could not fault this hotel and will definately be back when visiting Galway.

was very dissapointed with room as our email confirming our booking stated sea view room with flatscreen tv and our bathroom had seperate bath and shower however this was not the case our room had view of a wall aprox 1metre from window, small bathroom with no bath, no internet access. location of hotel was very good and food in the bar was excellent, […] also we were very impressed with the pool. I recently stayed in the Salthill hotel with my husband and 8 month old son. I highly recommend this hotel. Room was very big, clean and modern with a beautiful view overlooking Galway bay. Staff were so friendly and professional. Lunch in the bar was superb. The hotel restaurant (Prom)was excellent. Leisure centre was fabulous and 8 month old loved […] the heated pool. Beautiful hotel with fantastic view. Breakfast is tasty and plentiful, but because the hotel is so nice and so many people want to have events there, it can be a bit noisy. went there for the weekend. hotel was very good in general. entertainment on saturday night was poor and bar prices especially for spirits was on the high side. restaurant food was nice but menu a bit limited, possibly acceptable if it was included in the deal. ours was not so we had to find somewhere else to eat on second night. i dont want to sound […] to negative because this is a lovely hotel and we enjoyed our stay. Only spent one day and night. Hotel was packed and staff were very attentive to any requests and room service was almost instant. Would love to stay here again. Evening meal and Breakfast was lovely.

Not a bad hotel with a great location .Not much sleep was had due to noisy wedding ,music etc until 1 am then shouting outside and in the corridors until the wee hours of the night .My advice dont stay here at the weekend if you want to get some sleep .Rooms not bad -parking was a little tight at times due to number of guests staying .Wouldnt have a […] strong reason to go back really -better value and probably more sleep elsewhere in Galway i'd say . Really enjoyed this hotel. The weather wasn't great so we spent a little more time in the hotel than we normally would have and it was excellent.

From the reception on arrival to the wonderful leisure centre it was all good at this hotel. The staff deserve an award for their friendliness and courtesy.Room excellent with great sea view. Revamped hotel to a solid standard.Lovely bed, bed linen, duvet.Good towels (no wash towel). Fine breakfast. Great value.Got a perfect nights sleep despite huge weddings on both nights. My partner and I stayed here for a short break, and we were very impressed. The hotel is lovely with great facilities, comfortable room and the staff were unfailingly helpful, friendly and profesional. The beds were super-comfy and the breakfasts really nice. The staff member who checked us in was very helpful & the public areas are nice. We may have been staying in an older part of the hotel as the room needed a serious refurbishment – the single bed in our room was rock hard & the pillows very uncomfortable. Our room was clean but smelled of smoke. Room was also very warm so we opened the window but had […] to close it again due to the noise of the air conditioning unit. We got very little sleep the one night we stayed. Very poor cooked breakfast selection - When we arrived down to breakfast at 10.30 most of the food was dried out & inedible. Checking in was very smooth, just present your Hotels.com voucher and everything works automatically. The twin room was ideal (they even had sky sports channel on the tv), with lots of toiletries tec in the bathroom. We had bar food in the very comfortable bar on two nights and found the quality, price and service excellent. On the other night we had […] the main hotel set dinner and it was great. The show 'Trad on the Prom' is similar to Riverdance and every bit as good. In fact it's worth staying in the hotel just for the show. It's brilliant! attended a wedding in this hotel and it was the only reason i stayed there but for the price they charged the room was a major disappointment i have stayed in hotels for cheaper and the rooms were superior to what i got in the salthill hotel. i would not recommend this hotel to any body and i would never stay there again. We were very pleased with our stay. It's a lovely hotel - our room was really spacious with a lovely view over the bay. The staff in all areas of the hotel were excellent and I really appreciate this. Overall an excellent experience and I highly recommend this hotel.

my husband daughte,r son and their partners have just returned frim a trip to Salthill Hotel where we were attending a wedding. We loved the hotel and found the bar staff very helpful and even though they were busy, they never forgot a thing, we enjoyed the bar food there. M and n McH,

Was really surprised at how good this hotel was. Only booked night before on the net and got a great deal Staff were so friendly,room was spacious and very clean. The pool was a full 25m one with lots of lanes to swim lenghts( a rarity at hotel pools)there was also another pool with jets etc if you did not want to do lenghts.lovely big jacuzzi steam […] and sauna and changing rooms were well maintained one of the best I have seen. I have stayed in this hotel many times over the years as a business customer. This was the first time I have used it for leisure. My wife and I were very impressed with the professional and courteous way we were dealt with in this very busy environment. The room we were assigned was very very well appoined and very comfortable. There was no noise audible […] from either the bar or the function room. The service in the bar, although busy was very good, with no more than a couple of minutes wait to get served. The buffet breakfast on both mornings was great, and again very busy. There was no shortage or delays in the food, which was excellent. Comfortable and clean room great staff and great location on the Prom

We stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. As we were staying for 3 nights we were given a front room with a beautiful view of Galway Bay. Very friendly staff, both on reception, in the bar and in the restaurant. We had the most delicious meal in the restaurant and went back again the next night. Room was spacious and comfortable. The walk-in […] shower was amazing!! The leisure centre was also very well equipped and spotless. Two swimming pools meant that children went into one and adults could have a proper swim in the large pool. Also lovely jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The only drawbacks were; the front doors of the hotel were locked and the place actually looked closed and had no sign to show us where side entrance was. Also there were two single beds pushed together in the room, not a double. However, these were two minor disadvantages to a very enjoyable weekend. Hotel is about 30 mins walk along the promenade from the city but about 5 to 10 minutes in a taxi. I have already recommended hotel to friends and family and would definitely return. Lees meer

the hotel was very nice when we arrived. we were attending a function in the hotel which was very enjoyabe. the following morning however there was no hot water in our room or our friends rooms. the hotel did not do anything to fix this problem and offered no appoligies. also the breakfast was undercooked.

The hotel and staff were great but the rooms were in poor condition and in need of a "spruce up" Prices in hotel were very expensive, but then again so was most of Galway. All in all a "nice hotel" nothing above average

We really enjoyed our stay at the Salthill Hotel. It really is a lovely place. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downsides were the lack of wifi. It said there was wifi in the rooms but we couldn't get a signal. There is internet through the tv but when we enquired about it we were told it was 6.50 a day. This was written anywhere though. The […] rooms were big and comfortable, although they were very hot and smelt of stale smoke. I also noticed ash outside the window. The breakfast was fine, although other hotels we have stayed in have much more selection. The leisure centre was lovely with the biggest jacuzzi I have ever been in. Fantastic hotel, staff very friendly and attentive to bride and groom and all attending the wedding. Spa and pool up to scratch and brekkie fab. With a sunny day and bottle of fizz on the balcony bar oarlooking the sea went down a treat!

I've just returned from a very relaxing 5 day visit to the Salthill Hotel, Salthill, Galway. Overall, I was very impressed with this hotel. The hotel is located on the promenade, so the location is excellent. It is a large, tastefully decorated hotel. Our room was large and comfortable but due to the good weather, we did not spend alot of time there. […] The staff around the hotel were very friendly despite it being very busy period. We ate breakfast and the occasional meal in the bar, and we were happy with the food. Although we got a great deal on this website, the key factor in choosing this hotel was the leisure facilities which were excellent. There are 2 large pools, a child's pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and a brand spanking new gym. I spent alot of time there and enjoyed every minute. Had a fantastic stay in this hotel May bank holiday weekend.Ate in the bar on one of the nights -really enjoyed it.Entertainment provided on both nights-great crowd and good atmosphere.Fab leisure centre-really good staff.Lots of walks on the prom and visited Quay street and lots more.
