Beoordeeld door een gast van Hotels.com op 27 feb, 2013Net hotel met behulpzame medewerkers. Onze kinderen sliepen op de uitgeklapte bank, maar dat ligt slecht. Je voelt de veren. Heb het gemeld en er werden direct extra dekbedden op gelegd om op te slapen en toen lag de bank beter. De locatie van het hotel is perfect. Maar let op de District en Circle line (ondergrondse bij het hotel) liggen er bijna elk weekend uit voor onderhoud. Erg lastig!! Verder een uitstekend hotel. Om bij terug te komen.

Some strange bits seem not to have been refurbished, like old doors and drafty windows, leaving the impression of an old dormitory, but in fact the bathroom and furnishings were new and clean. If they had really finished the job properly, it would have felt like a really fancy place. 4 person family room was huge, but the second bed wasn't really big enough for two kids. We used a cushion on the ground for one, which was fine. Very close to museums, which was lovely, and easy access 2 blocks from Gloucester Rd tube. Didn't try breakfast, given many nice cafes just down in gloucester rd, including pret and starbucks and some independent options.

Hoewel het hotel is qua locatie prima centraal, de metro vlakbij. De kamer was schoon, alleen vond ik de dekens op de bedden minder fijn. Al met al een prima kwaliteit/ prijs verhouden, je bent immers in deze stad weinig op je kamer.

Een prettig hotel, mooi gelegen, dichtbij gezellige, niet dure en wel heel lekkere eethuisjes en op loopafstand van Portobello road. Vlakbij metrostation Baywater en Queensway, de laatste heeft een verbinding met de circle, ook fijn, je bent overal zo! Het hotel was schoon en de kamers werden ook iedere dag schoongemaakt, zelfs de theezakjes werden elke dag aangevuld. Heerlijk om sávonds een kopje thee te kunnen drinken voor het slapengaan. Onze kamer was vrij klein, maar wel met hoog plafond, dus niet benauwd en met een ligbad. Het ontbijt was goed en het personeel vriendelijk. Kortom, voor herhaling vatbaar.

Het hotel is vrij nieuw en staat dicht bij het station Watford Junction aan de noordkant van Londen. Met de trein en de metro is de reistijd 50 minuten naar het centrum. Een dalurenkaart plus OV-kaart voor 6 zones is voordelig te halen aan het station. Het hotel is netjes en goed verzorgd. Het ontbijtbuffet is voldoende, maar heeft een (in onze ogen) […] een logistiek probleem omdat er geen logische volgorde wordt aangehouden. We stayed here last week and couldn't find any faults. We were greeted by lovely reception staff who allowed us to check in early as our room was ready. They also printed off directions for us. Being so close to a railway your obviously going to have a certain amount of noise but it didn't bother us too much. I don't have any real issues other than the fire evacuation at 10pm. I normally wouldn't have any issue at all however due to the few number if guests plus the fact the staff took pictures of us stood outside, no fire engine arrived and there was no fire...I suspect it was a drill. A great example of a Holiday Inn Express. Smart, clean and good sized rooms. The main restaurants were a £5 can drive away and worth it as it is quite a long walk with kids in tow when your not sure how safe an area is. "london & harry potter"
we stayed for 3 nights to have a day in london and a day at the harry potter studio tour. we couldnt have had a better base. watford junction station was just behind the hotel with regular trains to euston which only took twenty minutes and the studio tour was only a ten minute drive away. it was walking distance into watford town centre for restaurants […] etc.the hotel itself was very clean and comfortable and we wouldnt hesitate to recommend staying there.next time we come to london we would use this hotel again. Male Receptionist very nice & professional the location of our room was great especially as from reading other reviews rang ahead and asked for a room front facing away from train station noise . We ordered takeaway and sat downstairs in a friendly atmosphere Our room was stuffy with 4 sharing and when we put on the air conditioning too noisy to sleep […] so we had to sleep with window open , bit noisy from traffic . very basic facilities but all you need for a pit stop , we enjoyed our breakfast plenty to eat husband disappointed there was no bacon . We used this hotel because it was so close to the Harry Potter studios. We had a 10 year old and a baby with us. The room was large, clean and functional, not luxurious but for the price you wouldn't expect that. The breakfast was brilliant, couldn't have asked for more. Staff friendly and helpful. Although the car park isn't very big, it is free. Very […] quiet for a hotel of this type, we think due to the size being quite a bit smaller than averge. Not the best neighbourhood! We stayed 2 nights in the hotel in March. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean, towels replaced daily. Hotel was close to town center and railway station, also close to Wembley and The Making of Harry Potter which we had booked to visit. The only problem was the sofa bed. We had booked a family room and it is OK for smaller […] children but my children were both 15 and for them it was not sufficient, the mattress is far to thin and the support bars dug into your back. Hotel was okay, positioned right next to Watford Junction which has regular train to Euston station. Also very convenient for Warner Bros studios as a bus departs from Watford Junction each hour direct at 2 pounds return. Vickage road is also close by. The staff were very helpful, letting us into the room early when we would otherwise have had to sit in the lobby. The room was clean and tidy, as was the rest of the hotel. Its not much to look at from the outside and the neighbourhood is a little rough round the edges but everything necessary is provided by the hotel. "Near to Warner Bros Tour to Harry Potter Land"
The receptionist was slow to retrieve our booking. I gave her my full name and she didn't check properly till her colleague came over and help her. She kept making mistake eg the 2 rooms that we booked were fully paid for but she didn't know and the same colleague had to walk over to her again and pointed that out to her after checking the system. We […] stayed for one night because of the Harry Potter Tour as the place was close to the location and the shuttle bus is just couple of minutes away. So most of the time we were out of the hotel. Stayed in many hotels but never experienced one like this where all meals were taken in the foyer!! Would like to have sat in a restaurant area and with more choice for hot breakfast. The hotel it self was very clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Kind of annoying that you have to pay for WIFI in your room. They offer a package that includes internet and movies and everything else on the TV for a good deal. There is free WIFI in the lobby (I didn't not use it). There are not that many places to eat in the surround […] neighbourhood, I went to a pizza shop around the corner and it was horrible. Overall, its good. I stayed here only for one night. Well received and i was explained about all the facilities (although i knew all this from previous stay). Gave details about car parking and wifi facilities without me asking about this. Only one disappointment is the treatment received at the breakfast time(unusual compared to my previous holiday […] inn stay). There was no greeting from the girl who was looking after the breakfast tablet and we were wondering what to do next and we waited for few min and decided to start taking stuff for breakfast, finished and left. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Watford Junction as part of a weekend trip to the Warner Bros Studio Tour. The hotel is very close to the train station and the studio tour transport link however it does rather feel like it is only accessible through back lanes you might not otherwise choose to walk along.
