Ascot in Rome

Outstanding value for a central two star base. Very clean. Very comfortable beds. Close to all public transport facilities and within walking distance or a bus ride to all major sites. Convenient for station, shops, good value restaurants. Breakfast a little lacking in fibre but adequate. Staff all helpful and with good command of English but discrete […] and unobtrusive. The staff was very pleaseant and spoke english. Room was clean and roomy. Very close to the main train station, about 2 blocks away. Would stay again

We stayed at the Ascot for 5 nights in November 2011, in room 28. The people at the desk were very helpful and friendly, and always spoke to us in near perfect English. We booked a "Double Room" and we ended up getting a room with 2 twin beds pushed together. We were fine with it, but I definitely recommend getting in touch with the hotel ahead of time […] if this is something that would bother you. The hotel is a bit out of the way, a block behind the Museo Nazionale, but it was LOUD outside. The windows were noise-reducing, which was nice, but there was nothing to keep all the traffic noise out. I am a really light sleeper and still had to use earplugs. My husband, though, slept right through it. There was no heat in the room, but they had additional blankets available which were thick enough to keep sufficiently warm. It was very clean, and fairly quiet inside. This hotel is a 5 minute walk from Piazza Repubblica, 30 minutes from the Spanish Steps, 35 from the Pantheon, and 40 from the Colosseum. Lees meer

We were well pleased especially after reading off -putting reviews about poky hotels in Rome generally. Not true, here. Whilst quality was what you would expect for 2 stars, there was always someone at the desk, the rooms were well kept, breakfast was generous and the triple glazing enabled a good nights sleep. The en-suite bathroom worked perfectly. […] Whilst the area and the hotel building does not compete with the more salubrious districts of Rome, we felt it had history, character, romance and convenience (5 minute walk to Termini). Mote that the area the hotel is in to the north of Termini is nothing like the seedy backstreets you will find to the southwest of Termini. If you are of the more independently-minded tourist who doesn't need pampering and on a budget this is the kind of hotel for you, We would definitely stay again. Thanks. Lees meer

Clean, reasonably priced, safe neighborhood, - if you are in Rome for sight seeing and not for a luxury hotel. Ask for something other than room 40 - this is the one room on intersection of two streets - so quite noisy at night.

picked this hotel mainly becouse of its close location to Termini - it's just few minute walk) after finding it i was a bit worry what it looks like inside (located in an old building, you need to ring the door and they let you in) hotel located on two floors, but with a working lift much, much better inside: nice english-speaking stuff, decent, clean […] room (with towels and bed sheets changed daily), working air-condition, hot water we had an access to wi-fi and there was a computer for guests use simple, but nice breakfast (quite good coffe and fresh croissants) so if i'm in rome again i'll probably stay in Ascot again Lees meer

We just stayed at the Ascot for two nights (2 adults 2 kids). The staff is friendly and efficient and provides exact information promptly. I could not inspect all the rooms, of course, but ours was perfectly clean and had good beds, a very spacious and clean bathroom with new fixtures (no sad rusty faucets or leaky pipes or drippy low-pressure shower), […] good A/C and good TV (if you like Italian TV...It's so stupid it makes you yearn for Spongebob...but hopefully you'll be out and about til bedtime...). It is close enough to Termini to walk your luggage to it, and you are within walking distance to Metro and bus stops. (The 4 Euro daily ticket is a great solution to catch unlimited rides as you get around Rome for a day). Get the continental breakfast with the room, featuring coffee/tea, milk, yogurt, OJ, very good bread and croissants, jam, honey, nutella... grab a bag of peaches or grapes from the little street market just out the door, and enjoy Rome!!! We stayed at Hotel Ascot with two young kids for 4 nights in June. The room is quite basic, but the hotel is safe, clean and in a good location. There is free WiFi, breakfast and air conditioning. It's less than a 5 minute walk from the main train station, but away from the hustle and bustle of the station. The hotel location is great if you don't mind […] walking to the sites. All the main sites are within 30 min walking distance. If you're not up for walking a couple of Metro stations are 5 minutes away so you can get to all the sites very quickly. A very positive review for the Ascott. It may be only a 2 star hotel but it's comfortable and cozy. The staff was very helpful and they speak English. The property is only 300 meters from Roma termini and almost all the tourist attractions are walking distance. My room had 2 double glazed windows to shield from the noisy Roman streets.

Ett mycket bra hotell! Personalen var mycket vänlig. Rent och snyggt. Frukosten var bra. Ligger nära tågstation och metron. Går att gå till alla sevärdheter om man är van att promenera. Rekommenderar hotellet!

Hotel Ascot var det ultimata hotellet om man vill vara nära till det mesta. Bara 5 min från centralstationen Termini. Tryggt och mysigt kvarter. Personalen var väldigt hjälpsam och trevlig. Hotellet var fräscht och rummen fina. Modernt badrum, tv, luftkonditionerning. Sängarna var inte jätte bekväma men man kan lägga en filt under madrassen för bättre […] komfort. Frukost ingick i priset. Bulle, ost, marmelad, nutella, juice, yoghurt och flingor, precis vad man behöver. Jag är jätte nöjd med min vistelse och jag rekommenderar verkligen Hotel Ascot om ni väljer Rom som resemål! Lees meer

Vi upplevde hotellet som rent med trevlig personal. Personalen kunde hyfsad engelska vilket är ett plus. Frukosten bestod av frallor, yoghurt, flingor, pålägg och te/kaffe. Helt ok frukost för det priset vi betalade. Det enda dåliga var bristen på balkong/uteplats. Annars skulle jag rekommendera hotellet - om man inte förväntar sig lyx för de förväntingarna […] lever hotellet inte upp till. Men ett bra hotell - absolut! Lees meer
