"Great quality and spacious"
This was our first time in the USA, there for a conference, and we found the hotel to be fantastic. The room (which I believe was an "accessibility" room) was very spacious, modern, clean and very good quality. Room service was good and all staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Beds were comfy and pillows nice and fluffy. The restaurant downstairs […] was open from early to late and does great food. The area is "downtown", so a little removed from the city centre, but Portland CBD is SO EASY to get around, we didn't notice it. It's also five mins stroll to great places like Voodoo Donuts and Stumptown Coffee and the MAX lightrail (yellow and green line) is right outside. There's a homeless shelter a couple of blocks away so there's a few homeless people around, but we were never bothered or upset by any of them (and after doing some more travel around North America it's possible that that is just a normal amount of homeless people). The only time we needed our car was to go to the Japanese Gardens and Multnomah Falls... I would suggest researching a different location to park ad it is $30 per day... the comfort of the bed was HORRIBLE. The bed was ROCK HARD and the pillows were so puffy and dense that you were practically sitting up in bed. Once we finally were able to doze off, it was without a pillow altogether. I give the room 4 stars instead of 5 only because it was a bit tiny, the flat screen TV was relatively small and you cannot order movies. The hotel staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. "In the middle of everything"
Great location, great hotel. My only issues were with the housekeeping -- our room was serviced each day but pillows were left on the floor, dirty glasses left, paper on the floor. All minor details that didn't detract from the stay but certainly there was too much attention to detail. On the plus side, the hotel is in walking distance to everything […] and right on the light rail line. Wow, this hotel far exceeded my expectations. When looking for a place, the others that were within $20 or so in price had horrible reviews and looked kind of scary. So I thought, spend the extra $20. This hotel was beautiful, room was beautiful, very comfortable...staff were excellent and friendly. There are a couple of on street parking lots within […] a block or you can pay extra for secured valet parking which we did as we had been shopping all day. It was well worth the money. Resturant in hotel or you can venture out, great resturants within a few blocks, downtown shopping within walking distance. Great experience, highly recommend. "Nice Hotel Great Downtown Location"
The room was clean and beds were comfortable. I asked for extra sheets and toothpaste and it was brought up right away. My friend thought there was something wrong with the tub (wasn't draining properly) but it turns out he just didn't know how to use it! Anyway the maintenance guy was in the room taking a look in under 20 mins. There is a clean gym […] there we wandered into, but no pool. The staff at the front was helpful and courteous. It's close to downtown foodcarts, bars and restaurants. We walked everywhere downtown and took a cab once. The parking cost at the hotel sucks. Park on the street overnight if your fortunate enough to find a spot on the street. We found one right across the street two nights in a row ;) Would definately stay there again. "Walk to Powell's Books and the Pearl District!"
My wife and I were really happy with our stay at the Courtyard Marriott City Center. Our favorite things were: - Only a 5 block walk to Powell's City of Books on the same street - Easy walking access to the rest of the Pearl District - Lot with great Food Trucks at the end of the block (Mexican, Thai, Korean, Cajun, brunch, gyros, pizza, and more!) - […] Public transit stop at the other end of the block. - Great food from room service - Both the room and the bath were very spacious All in all, an excellent deal and definitely where we'll stay on our next trip to Portland! "Portland Weekend Getaway"
Our stay was exactly what we were hoping for - it was a place to stay while we experienced and roamed downtown Portland and the surrounding area. Our hotel stay was nice providing a decent view overlooking a corner bank with beautiful Corinthian columns (a fan of that period architecture). We only had one issue with neighbors that were loud, but didn't […] last long. The check-in staff were very nice and even provided an item that I did not bring that they said to "please return it when you check out" (which seems to be unheard of these days).
