omdat het aan de rand is van de vieux carré zit je er wel, maar slaap je nog, als je in Bourbon street zit doe je denk ik geen oog dicht hier heb je iets minder lawaai.

"Great base of operations or to sit and watch"
I'd be happy to stay again. The rooms are dated; "icky" one guest said, but fairly clean and certainly comfortable. It's like living in a 50's black and white TV show! But, it was nice, close to the action, the staff was great and even thought Frenchmen is noisy all night long, the rooms are quiet and the insullation must be fantastic. "Great Baloncy overlooking Frenchman at Blue Nile"
Great location, you could sit on the balcony in the evenings which overlooked Frenchman Street, right across from Blue Nile. Condos were perfect size, old and outdated, but overall great place to stay, pool and hot tub wonderful extras. Washers and dryers in the laundry room on 1st floor. Towels and trash were the only things to be done while we were […] there, and management infomed us of this at check in. These are the cons, no elevators, but only three floors, no ice machines, and needs a good cleaning. Pros-fridge, micro, stove, ice maker, full kitchen with all utensils, pots etc., large closet and bedroom, small tv in living room, no tv in bedroom. We were here for Jazz Fest and as the saying goes, you do not go to NOLA to sleep in this area of the city. I would recommend for business travelers, the larger hotel chains. "Former Apartments"
The "rooms" at the Frenchmen Orleans Hotel were designed as apartments, so they are complete living quarters. "519 Frenchman Street.... No thanks...."
The room I was in was nothing like the pictures. The nice rooms were all downstairs as I saw when I walked past some open doors. Our room was a little dirty and we did find 2 or 3 roaches running around in the room. They did not have enough parking for customers who roomed there and there was not valet parking like I thought the advertisement said. […] I understand it was St. Patrick's day weekend, but when you are paying to stay in their Condo you would expect a parking spot. Instead I had to park a mile away and pay $25 per day. When I asked a woman working behind the desk about parking she said "well tough luck, it's St. Patrick's day weekend." I thought that was awesome of her. The two gentlemen working behind the front desk were both very nice though. It was a pretty good location only about 4 blocks from all the fun. I think for the time and cost it took for parking I would rather stay at the Sheraton on Canal Street which was more expensive, but so much nicer last time I went to New Orleans. Was supposed to be two Queen beds but turned out to be one king and two full beds. This didn't work well for two couples. blood stains on sheets. Excessive noise but only till about 4am. Tv remote did not work and overall shape of the rooms were disgusting. Ok for a bunch of college guys but I will never take my family back to the hotel again. "HORRIBLE PARKING SITUATION"
The hotel has 15 rooms - no parking on-site. They're allowed 8 parking passes to parking lot behind hotel. If you're not one of the lucky 8, good luck finding another parking spot. The parking lot is monthly contract only for the farmers market vendors. We parked our car about 10 blocks away in another hotel's lot paying $35 for the night. "Frenchman Orleans - The Perfect Place to Be!!!"
It is convenient in location for the nightlife, not as crazy as bourbon street, but there is a reason why all the locals hang out on Frenchmen street, the rooms were the best in price to quality ratio, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was my first time to stay at this particular hotel and I will definitely stay here my next trip!

Stayed there for 3 days and loved it. Being condos rather than hotel rooms, I loved having the feel of home rather than standard. I would recommend this to anyone.

"In the middle of a hot nightlife!"
The Frenchmen Orleans at 519 was in a great location - right on Frenchmen where you can hear the music of many venues all night long. There is even a smoke-free bar/music venue across the street called d.b.a! Just a couple of blocks from the French Quarter. The fixtures are a bit dated, but it's clean and comfortable which is much more important.

My husband and I went for our anniversary and had a great time. The location is perfect. Quiet during the day and full of life at night. Some of the best food and entertainment in New Orleans can be found on Frenchman. We were able to be right in the middle of everything but when we were ready to go to bed we were surprised it was very quiet in our […] room. It was like having our very own apartment in New Orleans. I also had broken my foot a week before our trip and had a cast on my foot. I called and was given a first floor room so we wouldn't have to postpone. We will definately be back soon. "Delightful Jem in the French Quarter"
A delightful place. We were pleased that the one bedroom condo was very cool when we checked in since the temperature outside was 105 degrees. The large whirlpool tub/shower was great, the bed was comfortable, there were two large flat screen TVs and the full kitchen made our stay easier. I travel a lot for business and took my wife with me on a trip to NO. We stayed at this hotel a couple nights... basically it was just some apartments that were "converted" into a hotel... The restuarant across the street on the corner is an excellent place to eat... you can sit on the landings and listen to the Jazz bars and have an entertaining evening […] just people watching... it is within walking distance to the french quarter and the farmers market is only a couple blocks away. First visit to New Orleans and so glad we stayed at the Frenchmen at 519. Staff was very friendly & helpful. They even let us check in early. Within walking distance of all the street life. Balcony seating overlooked street. Good value for the price. Would stay here again.

Condo one bed is outstanding, comfortable, very clean and modern. Nice kitchen to cool down water and drinks for hot days. Upstairs porch great location to listen to nightime music. We stayed at a 2 bedroom on the 3rd floor. At night, the street was packed & it was extremely loud & difficult to sleep. There was no elevator and We had 2 young kids, and carrying them, strollers, and bags up the stairs to the 3rd floor was no fun. We tried to switch to another room, but the front desk said there was no other room available to change […] to. "Great location"
If you like Music and wouldn't mind living in neighborhood where music spills out of the bars all night, this is the place for you. We had a two room condo. It worked out great for us.
Every thing was good except the street it's on gets a lot of night life with street bands playing until about 0400 in the morning.
"519 Frenchmen New Orleans- ATROCIOUS IN EVERY WAY"
I was glad to get the unit next to the office due to all of my luggage ( no elevators and I was there for business) until I walked in unit 106.....YIKES, cue the disco music. It appeared as if someone had one too many mint julip cocktails as the whole kitchen and bathroom was this hideous green. The bathroom had a heart shaped sink ( yes, you read that […] correctly) and the "jacuzzi" tub looked as if it had not been used in years.....the jets appeared to have rust all over them. Couple that with the fact that the entrance to the tub was literally as high as my knee cap ( I am 6'1) and the hot water was sporadic it made for a miserable shower. The bedroom had the traditional old country home flower decor comforter along with a bed that actually rolled on the floor.......nice. The kitchen had a refrigerator, an ancient stove, and a dishwasher but believe me, I was eating out every meal as this place was depressing. I can't forget the 17 in box tv...what a classy place. Now, on to the parking situation which is atrocious. They "rent " a lot from someone and give you a card to access this " secure" lot. I head out at 8:30 AM for my conference and the vehicle next to me has its window shattered and all the contents shuffled through. I report it to the office and they let me park out front and assure me " this is the first time this has ever happened". I go to check out Mon evening and the rude clerk cannot even check me out b/c she doesn't know how. I also hear her tell a customer on the phone " all our units have all the bells and whistles, they are apartments". Whatever. I understand the units are different and the unit you get is luck of the draw but one would think they are comparable decorated. The unit on the website is beautiful.....the one I received had not been updated in at least 30 years. I travel every week for work and this place is by far the worst i have ever stayed. "Comfortable apartments in a lively neighborhood"
The condos at Frenchmen 519 are comfortable, clean, safe, and walking distance to countless bars and clubs in Marigny and the French Quarter. The clubs on Frenchmen Street are apparently popular with the locals, and are compared to the French Quarter without quite so many tourists. There are several nice restaurants and a large park within two blocks […] of the property. Jackson Square, the river, and the riverfront streetcar are all within 10 minutes' walk. The staff was friendly -- not just polite, but actually friendly -- and knowledgeable about the area. They recommended nearby restaurants, parks, driving directions, and taxi service. The two main things to keep in mind about the property are these. First, you're getting a condo, not a hotel room. It's great if you want a kitchen and a bedroom with a closing door, not so great if you expect free breakfast or daily fresh sheets. Second, Frenchmen Street is pretty lively at night. Unless you want to stay up until 4am, you'll be sleeping through the sounds of jazz bands from 3-4 nearby clubs. We only had trouble sleeping one of our five nights there, when a nearby club had a DJ instead of a live band. Lees meer

I was very happy with hotel location and the room. My only complaint is with the parking - the French Quarter is very congested and parking is really tight so I chose a hotel with parking to avoid this stress. Arriving at a decent hour (6pm) on Saturday I expected no issues. But was told no parking was available and would have to find my own which turned […] out to be $18 a night :-( Not a happy camper. "Great for music"
Not knowing the area in advance, we were pleasantly surprised by all the music venues on Frenchman Street. On the other hand, they are loud and if you are a person who likes to sleep before 2AM, you might consider ear plugs. Also, this venue needs to get wi-fi. They claim the restaurant next door, but their server was down the whole time.

I visit New Orleans at least once per year and this is by far the best place I have ever stayed. The location was very convenient for exploring the city and the local bars/clubs/restaurants cater to a more relaxed crowd (meaning not so crazy drunk like Bourban St, which is just a 10 min walk), and music in this area is incredible. We stayed on the […] first floor towards the back in a two bedroom condo with a jacuzzi tub and fully equipped kitchenette. The furniture was nice and the beds were very comfortable. Everything was well maintained and the room was very quiet. One of the bedrooms opened up onto the back patio where the pool and hot tub are located. We were the only two using it, so it was like our own private patio. I imagine rooms closer to the front may suffer some noise from the street, but I doubt it would be too much. "Frenchmen Orleans at 519 - too close for comfort"
We should have known we were in trouble when the check-in person said that noone comes to New Orleans to sleep. Our bedroom faced Frenchmen's street and a nightclub was directly across the street. Thursday night was quite loud but the next two nights were worse. Saturday night had two bands playing in the club, one upstairs and one downstairs and they […] played until about 5AM. We asked to change to a back apartment but were told the place was full and we were stuck. I think it is unconscionable to rent these street-front apartments without telling the customer what the situation is....if you are an all-night partyer, the place would be fine. My husband had a meeting on Friday morning so he was tired after sleeping fitfully on Thursday night. And after spending much of Saturday night awake (we had to sleep in the living room but it was loud in there also) we then faced a 6-hour drive home. Since you cannot request a specific apartment ahead of time, you get what you get upon arrival, I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone because you risk spending your nights awake. We happen to have had several daytime activities -- so we needed to be able to sleep at night and that just wasn't an option here. Lees meer

"The best hotel I have ever stayed in."
I am in the military and get to stay in a lot of nicer hotels, "W", Hilton, Hyattt, etc. and this was by far the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in as far as amenities and decor. The kitchen was beautiful with marble counter tops and all stainless steel appliances. I have an oval jetted tub with 8 shower heads. Surround speakers in the living room with […] a DVD player. My back door let out to the patio that felt very tropical with all its plants and had a warm pool and a patio. Bourban Street was within walking distance but away from the hubbub. This is not really a hotel, but a condominium. No maid service. Good location, close to clubs and bars on Frenchman's street. Convenient to French Quarter. Noisy street, but the rooms were quiet.

Easy walk to the French Market and Cafe du Monde for your morning cafe au lait. The location has a busy nightlife. Be prepared to fall asleep to the thump of the bass from the surrounding nightclubs. The Frenchman is conveniently located just outside of the French Quarter (about 6-8 blocks to Jackson Sq.) in a pretty happening neighborhood. So the location is great, but a warning that the bars stay loud well into the morning on the weekends so if you're a super light sleeper that could be an issue. But it's great if you want to get out for a quick […] drink or to see some live music. The people at the desk were very helpful and courteous on check in and check out. The room was spacious and clean, exactly as advertised. The Frenchmen is now my favorite place to stay when we visit New Orleans, which is quite often. It is perfect for families, couples, or singles.
