This guest house rates as one of the top 3 ever experienced in England, (not only York) .... the level of comfort, service, friendliness, care and attention to detail was exceptionally high quality ... like staying with a well-to-do friend. It was also exceptionally good value. We shall definitely try to go there next time we visit York.

"Great Weekend!"
Very pleased with hotel all round. Clean and comfortable with all necessary facilities. Very close to railway station and an easy walk into town. Pretty location with canal and city views. Sky lounge was picturesque ans comfortable. Breakfast was excellent - catering for all tastes and evening dinner was also very good. Would use again.

Excellent central location within easy walking distance of mainline station and town ; easily accessible for fabulous shops, bars and restaurants ; situated on canal ; very clean and bright ; large rooms, perfectly clean with excellent bathroom/shower facilities ; Apple mac's in rooms ; decent size fridge ; bed very comfortable with lovely egyptian […] cotton bedding ; excellent restaurant and sky lounge (little expensive) ; very pleasant and polite reception staff. "Mint Hotel Leeds(now DoubleTree) - a great find!"
Stayed at the Mint Hotel (now called Double Tree) on a Friday night to attend an event at Leeds 02 Academy. Was a great location, easy walking distance to the 02 and other amenities. Despite being located next to the very busy Leeds railway station, the double glazing was more than sufficient to shut out any noise. Warm cookies on arrival was a nice […] touch especially after a 4 hour journey! Breakfast was superb, massive selection and great that they served until 11am. Check in and out was very smooth and efficient. Hotel upkeep was very good, Sky lounge hs some fantastic views too. Room was lovely, nice and bright, modern and clean. The only downside was that the bathroom did not have a bath! Only the suites have a bath and the pillows were quite hard! I took the Post Code of the Hotel from a 3rd party site which unfortunately didn't take us to the Hotel, but via the phone, the staff were able to direct us. Overall a great Hotel and would definitely stay again! Lees meer

I stayed at this hotel last November when it was the Mint Hotel. I have to say the standards were not as good, the pillows were like concrete blocks, the air con kept blowing cold air in the night even though it was turned off. The Apple Mac TV kept getting interference all through the night. I had a veggie cooked breakfast and the scramled egg looked […] like it had been standing for a while. Lees meer

A most enjoyable stay. Breakfast was very good it is a pleasure to be able to order what you want off a menu. Loved the bar on the 13th floor. The warm cookie on check in was great too! Would stay again.

This hotel was is in the ideal location, close to the towns centre and walking distance to the train station. The hotel is very modern and had all the requirements and more of what you would need during the stay. I would definitely stay there again and recommend to others!

"Do I really need a cookie?"
Great rooms and views over Leeds from the Skybar. Breakfast at 8am was packed and I gave up queuing and went outside the hotel. On leaving I noticed lots of empty uncleared tables so obviously the staff just could not cope. I would go back but do they really have to insist on giving me a hot melting cookie when I'm laden down with bags?!

I found the reception staff to be very approachable and the room to be lovely. The views from the sky bar were wonderful and the food was lovely (if a little expensive). The only down side was the time it took for food and drinks to arrive. There are plenty of other places nearby you could go for drinks and food so I'd still say this hotel is fanta […] stic.
