I actually didn't expect too much because the prices are very low. But I got very nicely surprised. You get so much more for your money than expected. A fantastic big room, place to park just in front of your door, all amenities included, staff is very kind and gave some good advices. All I can say is good. I don't know if I'll be back in Salem NH but in that case I'd get a room here again for sure.

Forget the "complementary breakfast", it's close to non-existant and except for some coffee its useless. Only downpoint was the strict and undiscussable enforcement of checkout time with both front desk and cleaning calling/knocking on the door at 11:00am sharp, even with the hotel not completely booked for the next day.

"Leisurely Relaxed Stay"
We had a good night at the Stephen Clay B&B. The inn was clean, homey, beds were comfortable, and bathroom was convenient and clean. Breakfast was hearty and good. "immaculately clean and charming....."
we had a wonderful surprise trying this-our 1st B & B- on our way to a dear one's memorial service. Our hosts were very engaging and happily shared the history of this charming, well appointed home in New Hampshire. We had a "shared bath" but we were the only guests that night so we had all the guest space to ourselves! The bedroom was beautiful, filled […] with interesting memoriabelia and antiques (and a very comfortable 4 poster bed) as is the rest of "this old house"....TV is available in the comfortable sitting room, breakfast served in another "very charming" dining room. Fresh fruit salad, juice, delicious coffee and eggs benedict were our choices for breakfast which was perfect-so delicious and fresh! "A Personal Experience"
i finally found why the b and b experience is considered relaxing. It is the personal interaction, the communication usually around the breakfast table, with the other travelers and with the owners of the establishment.... it was enlightening and humorous and really made the visit and stay so appealing !! For that reason alone I would give this homestead […] a definite thumbs up. The only part I would update, is that each room have their own bath, that was the one drawback. Not a problem, just a suggestion. My sister and I loved the Stephen Clay Bed and Breakfast. The owners gave suggestions of places in the area to have dinner and directions to our destinations, they were extremely helpful and fun. thanks so much for offering your home to the public as you do.
