I stayed a total of 3 nights here and was very comfortable. The room was great with everything I needed including hair dryer and ironing board. The staff at reception were very helpful. Having stayed at higher rated hotels, I think the standard of this hotel exceeds it's rating. We suffered at this hotel, Not slept a wink because of the noise. The bathroom was covered with mold. Will never choose this hotel again. Breakfast was terrible.

We were lost arriving from the Phoenix airport. Be careful of Google directions too since it put us about 20 minutes into the wrong location. However, we appreciated the manager getting up to let us in after 2am. The only problem were the wet carpets from a recent cleaning. Otherwise, the service was excellent and room economical.

Hotel was very clean and Sam was very gracious at check-in. Shuttle van to airport was right on time and driver was very courteous. Location was a little sketchy but was worth being close to airport.

There has been very few hotels that really accurately portray what you will get once you check in and settle down in your room. At America's Best Value Inn, you get exactly what you pay for. The name of the hotel actually says what it delivers!

The hotel was in a sketchy part of town down by Chase field. Homeless were down the two streets we took to go to and from hotel. Staff was very accomadating and the room was clean and comfortable..... we stayed there 3 nights and were satified for the money we paid. A free shuttle is included in the service and when it didn't show up, the clerk offered to give us a ride to the airport HERSELF. That's dedication right there. The inside of the room does NOT match the outside; it was far better in there than what my expectations were at. My three night stay at America's Best Value Inn in Phoenix on Van Buren was very pleasant. The staff are very helpful and made me aware of the free shuttle from the airport. I was just looking for a one night stay after a late flight in from the East Coast, as I was heading to Sedona the next morning. America's Best Value Inn got good reviews, so I went with it. I called for directions as I hadn't been to Phoenix in years, and the young man at the desk gave me great directions and was super friendly and helpful. I have read these reviews before and found people who can barely spell or are obviously in a moment of rage have written them. I haven't stayed in a roadside motel with drive-up to your door location in decades. I stayed here plain and simply for the price. What a surprise! The hotel rooms are rennovated, fresh and clean. The only drawback is the location which is right on a major street so you hear traffic.

Friendly, helpful. Suggest when booking that you request a room away from the main road if you want a quiet nights rest with minimal traffic noise.

This motel was remodeled and surprisingly modern and clean on the inside. The neighborhood is definitely not a good area (especially for 2 women). The beds were comfy and had plenty of pillows. For how little money I spent, this is a great little hotel in the expensive downtown area. It's a little farther away than I would have ultimately liked, but came at one third the cost. The people who run it are nice and very helpful. The room was very clean and the water pressure was good (always a key factor for me). Remodel very well done - soothing colors, soft carpet, everything was nice. Quite convenient to the Arizona Center and the Convention Center. We would recommend it to our friends.

The neighborhood is very iffy. It was only 5 blocks from downtown but on the wrong side of the tracks one might say. There were many homeless in the area and you had to watch out for bicycles on the sidewalk when walking, often coming up fast from behind. Local businesses had bars on some doors, some not, razor wire on some lots, some not, it looked […] to be a neighborhood in a downward transition. The door of my room showed daylight all the way around it. Housekeeping hung dirty towels back up as clean - management said they were going to address this with the head of housekeeping who had cleaned my room that day. Airport shuttle has to be pre-arranged - although they did get me a shuttle even though I didn't realize that. I had to wait about 30 min. for it but I had nowhere to be and was just grateful to get a ride. It was close to the airport and to the convention center downtown. Each night a young guy in a fancy silver ford showed up outside my room (about 11 PM) and held conversations and arguments with a woman and homeless individuals on bicycles - made me wonder what was going on, he was always gone by 6 AM - tatoos and all. The hotel was newly remodeled, so everything was nice and clean. The hotel is also within walking distance to a lot of things downtown. The only problem is the wall are thin and you can hear traffic and other guests talking/moving around. Our one night stay at this hotel was great. Very comfortable beds, clean sheets, all amenities were available to us, flat screen TV, and it smelled great. Consequently the outside looks a little scary. It is near down town but on road called Van Buren. I was born and raised in Phoenix and we were only visiting family and well Van Buren is known for […] our "nightwalkers" if you know what I mean. This hotel was very clean, up-dated. The bed was absolutely wonderful to sleep on. There really wasn't any noise factor associated with this hotel, thus a good night's sleep was enjoyed. The bathroom was very clean & neat. The front desk service was supurb. The only negative was the fact that there is not a lot to do in this hotel's location (shopping, […] etc). It was so close to were I had Jury Duty I could walk to the Court House.

Overall, the hotel was ok. The managers were a married couple that lived on the grounds, so they were very knowlegable. The room was clean and recently renovated. My only complaint was the refrigerator did not work, but I was too tired to care and my left overs spoiled. Seriously, it's not GREAT, but it's better than a Motel 6. The newly remodeled rooms are pretty good, bed was comfortable, tub was worn, TV channels were confusing, off the beaten path as far as close to Downtown is concerned. However, for the price I would stay again.

The location was VERY convenient to where the Commerica Theater was and everything downtown. Service was EXCELLENT at the hotel the only bad thing was there was some maintenance needed within the room. Otherwise GREAT price and location!

The rooms were upgraded and features were nice. Staff was friendly less then a 10 minute walk from city center. Also if you love thai food there is seven restaurants near by.

Very high level of comfort for a very basic price. The bed is very good, the room is clean and well equipped. A real value for money. This isn't fancy, but for the price it works very well.

I just needed a room for the night while me and my girlfriend attended a tequila festival, the hotel is one block away from the light rail and the rooms are basic but very clean and cozy, not bad for the price, will stay again in the future!

Things were not perfect but what do you really expect at this price point? Great location, walk anywhere you need to go in downtown PHX. Updated rooms include flat panel TV, new fridge and microwave, very nice. Fast, complimentary 12mbps wifi! The mattress (also newly updated) was one of the most comfortable and supportive I have ever slept on.

This is a good, basic hotel for an overnight close to the airport. Clean basic room with microwave. The only thing is to remember to make prior arrangements for the shuttle from the airport to the hotel. I didn't and had to take a taxi. Otherwise, the shuttle was available for me to go to the car rental the next day. There is a very basic breakfast […] but for the cost you shouldn't expect anything more. Hotel is an older building recently upgraded to current standards. Staff was very pleasant and room was exceptionally clean. Bed was comfortable. Buffet breakfast was enough to get you going, but nothing fancy. It provided what I needed, a clean place to sleep, and would stay there again if in Phoenix.

We got a room for the Zombie walk/ festival. The hotel was a 5 minute walk to the fest and the neighborhood felt safe. Lots of restaurants and bars close to the hotel.

It can be hard to find a budget hotel that is clean, comfortable, and reasonably close to where you want to be, but Americas Best Value Inn is a good place to go if you need to be close to downtown Phoenix. Freshly remodeled, the room I had was clean and the bed was comfortable. Good size flat screen TV and complementary WiFi were a plus, as were the […] refrigerator and microwave. What the room lacked in size, or what the hotel lacked in amenities was more than made up for in the price. The staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. Just a couple blocks walk to the Phoenix Metro, or if you don't mind a slightly longer walk, you can reach the Convention Center, Chase Field, US Airways Arena, and other downtown attractions all on foot without too much effort (for those who don't mind a good walk). We needed a cheap overnight hotel in Downtown Phoenix as a base to go to a gig at the US Airways Centre. The hotel was perfect for this purpose. We stayed overnight after going to a concert at Comerica, which was an easy walk away! Everything except the bathtub was newly redecorated. ( The tub could use an upgrade. ) TV was large, bed was comfortable, AC certainly worked. Don't count on more than a cup of coffee and a packaged danish for breakfast. Great value for the money!
