BORDER HOUSE AT CRYSTAL BAY in Crystal Bay

Hotel was amazing but you need doors on the bathrooms- this is a must do.

The only issue was the lack of a "front desk" for check-in... Security had to call for an employee to help us at the "Player's Card" desk. This may be a part of re-organization or growing? But everything else was excellent!

The experience was amazing! The bathroom with chromeotherapy tub was wonderful. The room was very quiet. The decor was very unique and beautiful. I slept like a baby! I will definitely stay there again.

Nice room location. Good service, beautifully decorated, comfortable accommodations. I also recommend having a meal at Bistro Elise. Good food, great granola.

Aside from loving this 10 room hotel, this place is beautiful. This hotel has a BnB feel due to the 10 rooms and it feels like your in a mini mansion. Best kept secret and a hidden gem in North Lake Tahoes Crystal Bay. They should rename it to Hidden Gem which would be more fitting for Crystal Bay. I don't think it will though since most people like to stay at properties in the shore or near major attractions. The only attractions within walking distance are Crystal Bay Casinos and the Biltmore Casino. Another positive is that you are a short distance from the Hyatt beach and equal distance from Kings Beach. It's perfectly located between both destination points. If you rank hotels based on the bathrooms, then this is your place. We stayed in both room 2 and 11. Room 2 had a large walk-in shower and roomy tub. If your willing to forgoe the tub, room 11 has an amazing 6x6 walk-in shower with multiple wall jets, ceiling rain pan, and removable wand shower all independent from each other. If that's not enough, there is a full length bench enough to practically lay down on while you turn on the aromatherapy steam to help you sweat off the days downhill skiing or waterskiing. Your sure to spend north of a half hour in the shower and sleep well. Most importantly, if you are traveling with children - there are no privacy doors for the bathroom or toilet room. NO DOORS AT ALL. Well except for the door that you enter to get into your room. So room 11 was better for my family, whereas room 2 would be more suited for a couple even thought they have two queens including a see through fireplace between the bathroom and bedroom.
