Villar ligt in het centrum van Madrid, op loopafstand van Santa Ana Square, Puerta del Sol en Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. In de buurt liggen ook Plaza Mayor en Prado Museum.

Draadloos internet is gratis beschikbaar in openbare ruimtes. De conferentieruimte is 40 square feet. De volledige renovatie van deze accommodatie werd in september 2011 voltooid.

Villar heeft 40 kamers met een kluis. Elke televisie heeft kanalen via kabel/satelliet en een internetverbinding via tv (toeslag).
Een turndownservice wordt elke avond aangeboden terwijl een huishoudservice dagelijks beschikbaar is.

Prima, net hotel in rustige buurt, zwembad valt tegen en evenals fitnesscentrum erg beperkte openingstijden. Bar mag meer producten op kaart zetten.

Mooie moderne hotelkamer. Ontbijt was goed. Hotelpersoneel was erg behulpzaam: op de dag van vertrek moesten we eerder weg dan dat het ontbijt mogelijk was. Speciaal voor ons werd de ontbijtzaal geopend en konden we weliswaar niet uitgebreid, maar toch wat eten. Ligging van het hotel is super. Vijf minuten lopen vanaf Puerta del Sol, met een pleintje voor de deur. Klein minpuntje: ondanks de rolluiken hoor je wel goed wat er op straat gebeurt. Zou er zelf wel weer heengaan.

"Good location"
The hostel is a bit hard to find. The beds were awful and hard , i still have pain in my back, the Room had a disscusting Smell. But the location was great.

We enjoyed our stay here however the website advertised that they had a double room which implies a room with a double bed. What we found when we arrived was a double twin room. My boyfriend and I pushed the beds together but we were disappointed that we stayed in this sleeping arrangements after having not seen one another for three months. The staff […] was friendly but did not speak any English. The rooms were clean as was the bathrooms. However the heat was not working correctly and since it was late December it was freezing!! Don't know how the dorm style rooms were like but I would not suggest this hotel for couples. Best part was the location in Sol but as there are many hostels in this area I wouldn't suggest this one. My second stay at Villar, and it was every bit as pleasant as my first stay. Such a great value with a modest price.... I'm sure I'll be back the next time I come to Madrid!

I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality and location of this hostal, especially given how affordable the rates were. If you are going to Madrid to have a good time and experience Spanish culture, Villar in the heart of EVERYTHING, and you won't even need need to take the metro for most of your sight-seeing. One drawback, if you are needing […] a good night's rest, is that it can be quite noisy with Spanish nightlife just getting started at 10pm and hustle and bustle just outside your balcony. At 5 or 6 in the morning, the party may well still be going on, so if you are a light sleeper, beware. The staff at Villar were exceptionally friendly. Some of them spoke English very well and were eager for me to correct their minor mistakes. Other staff members don't speak a single word of English, but if - like me - you are excited to practice your Spanish, the staff (and in fact, everyone I encountered in Madrid) are patient and really make the extra effort to enable communication. I really enjoyed staying here. Gorgeous balcony and great location. Place cleaned well every day and helpful, friendly staff. If your a hotel person, this might not be for you but if your a hostel or pension person then you will love it here. Quiet and private.

We were very wary about coming here because of so many bad reviews but we were pleasantly surprised, it was really not as bad as the reviews said. Nice location, rooms were cleaned every day, shared bathroom never had a que, (and there was soap in the bathrom), comfortable beds and even a nice balcony! yeah the walls looked old and mabe smelt a little […] funny but really didn't affect us at all. "Dont ever stay here"
This was the worst hotel ever. The only good thing about was the location - very central in Madrid. The staff was very rude and the hotel is one big mess. The window could not be shut properly, and the bed linnen must have been used a thousand times. The bathrooms were disgusting. I cannot reccoment it at all.
Otrevlig personal. Jag rekommenderar inte detta till någon. Visst är det ett hostel och ganska billigt men det är mycket mer värt att lägga lite mer stålar på ett finare hotell. Jag tänker aldrig mer bo där iaf.

We had a pleasant stay in this very well located Hostel. Staff was super friendly and helpful. And since my spanish is rather poor, I'm happy the staff were able to communicate in english too, which in Spain is not given in this price range accomodation. Die Unterkunft liegt super in der Innnestadt von Madrid und ist dafür sehr preiswert. Wir waren im 4. Stock untergebracht. Schimmel, abgelöste Tapeten, Baustelle vorm einzigen Fenster, Lärm usw. Also der 4. Stock ist eine Katastrophe. Aber wenn man in Madrid ist sieht man ja vom Zimmer nicht sehr viel. Beim Verlassen haben wir im 3. und 2. Stock die […] Zimmer kurz gesehen. Die sahen eigentlich ganz ok aus für den Preis. Fazit: Super Lage, super Preis und wenn man den 4. Stock meidet bekommt man auch ein akzeptables Zimmer. Lees meer

"Villar y los catres"
El hotel ofrece una buena ubicacion pero la comodidad de las camas deja mucho que desear, los colchones son viejos e incomodos, mas bien parecia un motel de paso. El calor era alto y no se cuenta con abanicos minimo, no se podia dormir bien. Muy mala experiencia.

Hostal Villar oli mielyttävä ylllätys! Se sijaitsee lähellä kaikkia palveluita ja Sol:in aukiota josta pääsee kätevästi liikkumaan metrolla ympäri kaupunkia. Matkani aikana kaupungissa oli menossa iso Pride-tapahtuma ja täytyy myöntää että Hostalin sijainti oli ihanteellinen tapahtumaan nähden. Paikalle pääsi kävelemällä 5 minuutissa mutta minkäänlaista […] hälyä ei huoneisiin kuulunut. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä ja auttavaista. Toki joidenkin englannin kielen taidottomuus hankaloitti asiaa. Huoneet olivat siistejä, kuten muutkin tilat. Suosittelen paikkaa muillekkin ja seuraavan kerran matkustaessani Madridiin varaan varmasti huoneen samasta paikasta. Lees meer
