Citin Hotel Masjid Jamek in Kuala Lumpur

Bedompt hotel met weinig service. Biedt niet meer dan een voordelige overnachting. Remoerige omgeving. Wordt aan het oog onttrokken door de lokale bazar. Wat dan wel weer zijn charme heeft. Geluidsoverlast door de moskee die ernaast ligt. Mooi centraal in het centrum tussen een lokale buurt. Slecht bereikbaar voor taxi.

Voor de prijs een erg goed hotel. Netjes, schoon en een goed bed. Ontbijt was prima en het zit op een prettige locatie om de stad te kunnen verkennen.

a very cramped room...moving around in the room is next to impossible..aircon took a long time to cool a room this small !!

For the budget conscious this hotel can't be beaten. It's a few minutes from RapidKL station and the Central Market, and the room is spacious but a little basic with the amenities - in-room wifi wasn't working during our stay. Now the not so good - our taxi driver had trouble finding it, mostly due to the fact that the front entrance is hidden behind […] a row of market stalls. Once found we were confronted with a flight of stairs which made it difficult especially if one has plenty of luggage. However the security guard was kind enough to lend a hand to bring luggage up and down the stairs. One could appreciate the cultural diversity of Malaysia with the variety of shops, markets and mosques surrounding the hotel. The broadcasting of the chant at 6AM from a nearby mosque makes it an interesting experience. Lees meer

Easy hotel to find when you have just arrived in Kuala Lumpur. Service was great, and even Security guards on the doors at all times. Room was small and had no window, but was clean. Walls were very thin. Was great that breakfast was included in the deal, but not very nice food.

Good, clean, efficiently-run hotel room. Well-organized room, strong shower, firm bed, working wi-fi. Small room but very serviceable for 1 person (would be cramped for 2). A few minor oddities like a door stop placed directly in front of the closet, non-working in-room safe. Fast check-in & check-out. The rooms are small (probably they sized room based on bed size). The hotel staff is also not very courteous. Hotel location is good as it's at walk-able distance from MRT station. Excellent! I felt the spirit of Malaysia! Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Near the subway stop, markets, museums (free!), parks, fountains, beautiful buildings, a football field. My wife and I stayed here over the New Year weekend. The hotel room was poorly maintained and housekeeping service was sub-standard. The toilet was not properly cleaned and had feces stains underneath the toilet seat.

Although we booked 1 month earlier, we have to wait so long to get a room in advance day. And not only we have to wait and also a lot of guests are waiting and queing with a high temper. Moreover, cannot supply full facilities as request.

Not bad for budget seekers

the hotel was okay the room was comfortable but hard to access the entrance and not wheelchair friendly at all. the room has great visual satisfying factor but when we checked in there was quite a few things not ready and took us quite some time to get them too... but the hotel was only 2 mins walk from the masjid jamek lrt station and the area have […] great deals and food access Lees meer

the hotel is great for the money, but i would not stay there next time, the walls are paper thin and the building next to it is a mosque, needless to say that we got very little sleep.

Certainly not the cleanest hotel, but everything you need for a night or two. Staff is also extremely helpful and will work with you to fix any problems you might face. Not luxurious to say the least, but given the price and location, it's a great value.

Overall nice hotel in a strategic location just beside Maskid Jamek station. However the entrance of hotel is always blocked by night market stalls. We also saw one or two baby croackcroach but other than that, the bathroom is very clean and nice.

As most of the reports I read have stated the hotel is quite convenient for public transport and sightseeing however the hawker stalls do impede access to the hotel from 10am to 10pm. The staff were friendly and helpful but I was disappointed that my room did not have a window or tea and coffee facilities. They did provide chilled water in a large bottle […] outside the lift shaft but not in your room. The room was average size and a bit cramped for two people but was immaculately clean and serviced. Food in the coffee shop did look good but I did not try it as I had food appointments with friends.All in all quite acceptable. Lees meer

The hotel has been very convenient for me. The place is fine. I thought that it would be noisy in the morning because of the mosquee nearby but I did not hear anything. The staff is very helpfull. Nothing bad to say!

Hotel was pretty central for the city near to the train station and only 3 stops away from the KLCC. Clean inside only draw back it had no window but that wasn't a problem for me. So maybe best to check before you book if you don't like the idea of that.

Informed before shall arrive early morning, booked 2 days before but given a no window room, altitude of staff is bad. Will not recommend this hotel.

The room is quite clean and looks new. The bathroom is good for budget hotel. But it has few space if you have big luggage.The wall cannot prevent the sound from outside, I can hear people talking or closing the door easily all the times. The entrance of hotel have a bit problem because it has many kiosks in front of entrance which create some difficulty […] to carry luggage. simple but clean and very good bed.quite room I had. people friendly but not helpfull. I had a safe problem in my room It took 2.5hr before somebody came to fix it. one elevator floor level that I was at buttom did not work. Breakfast. forget it tables on ruh hrs all dirty, missing food all the time not adequate food. class of people that use this hotel […] is below average. people make lot of noise in the alle during those 3 night that i stayed in. hotel is surronded by the small india area. enclosed a market by the hotel. difficult to find and acces to hotel. althougt metro station one blok away to go everywhere. Two words : Bed bugs

the location was very good, the room is not big but nice and very clean, the staffs are generally nice but some are not so helpful. the only problem might be the noise, walls are too thin and you can hear conversations and snorings from other rooms.

New hotel, so things are new. Front desk , not at all friendly No queen bed at all in this hotel, so be prepared to adjust. Toilets we need to adjust.

Nothing special. The room was rather cramped. This isn't really a problem unless you are hanging out in your hotel room which wasn't a problem as one doesn't spend much time there. The bathroom on the other hand quite nice. For the price and location. Just fine.

The hotel is located a short walk from the Masjid Jamek underground station. This is very convenient to travel all around KL including to and from the airport. The hotel entrance is hidden behind street vendor stalls and is not a plus point. My room was fair sized but had an awkward layout. Everything started off well, the hotel is about one minute walk from the station, check in was fine, and the hotel was big and bright when i got in. On closer look though, things were disgusting and filthy, the carpet had patches of wet spots everywhere, especially outside of the bathroom, the furniture like the desk had dust and other marks on it, […] like coffee, and it seemed like it had not been wiped down in ages. They provided a small jug for water and plastic cups, these looked like they had not been washed in a long time, and had stains everywhere, plus they smelt funny - i didn't not dare use them. This was the same for the beaker in the bathroom for rinsing your mouth. Next there were the bath towels, they had black stains over them and looked unwashed after being used by the last guest, although they did replace them very quickly after i asked. The bed sheets, blankets and pillows were also dirty, with brown stains over them, absolutely disgusting. The final thing was the cockroach which had been squashed inside the door of the wardrobe, just unbearable. When i repeatedly called up the help desk they would always tell me that they would send someone up to sort it out, but in all cases no one came up except for when i complained about the towels, it was the same with the morning call, i asked them to set it up for 6.30 am, but there was no morning call at 6.30, luckily i had set up the alarm on my phone just in case. Staff are friendly. The room is a bit small but the design is simple & relaxing to the eye. Didn't had a hard time looking for location but I find that the vendors blocked the front entrance. Overall, it's affordable & comfortable to stay in if you intend to spend most of your time touring KL anyways.

The Citin Hotel has a fantastic location, literally inside a market, with money changers, fantastic Indian restaurants, and a strain/subway station all in the vicinity. China town is also just 15 minutes walk away, definately worth a visit, although I would rather stay in Masjid Jamek any day (China town is pretty rough and touristy - not a nice atmosphere […] for a hotel). I was also thoroughly impressed with the service at the Citin. Because of the price I was expecting "no frills" when I booked. However,I surprised to find the staff extremely helpful, for example opening the doors for me every time I came in and out, and storing my bags for the day even once I had checked out so I could see the city before my flight out. I also found the complimentary wireless internet access plus two free guest computers really convenient. I haven't stayed at any other hotels in KL (except for the Tune next to the LCCT airport) so I can't really compare, however, if I need to transit in Malaysia again and want to see the city I will definately come back to the Citin. horrible entrace to this hotel. its a battle everytime you enter or exit this hotel. You have to carry your luggage up steps as there is no other way to take your luggage to the lobby and most of staff working in different shifts are lazy to bother to help you. If you ask them, they give you a look before they even try to help. They look sleepy. Othere […] than the gentleman who works nights everybody else is just relaxing and chatting instead of helping people especially those at door whose prime job is to help customers with anything but they are too busy smoking and gaffing amongst themselves then paying attention to guests' arrival. The Citin is located in Little India, 2 Subway stops from the Central Station and a 10 minute walk to KLCC. The rooms are small but there's enough living space to make it feel like a studio apt and not a prison cell. The staff are welcoming and eager to help out. A few corners of the rooms and the hotel are grimy and unkept but for the most part it's […] clean and well maintained. Upon arrival in hotel it looked both clean and dirty. Not until you get close up to such thins such as furniture looked very dirty and grubby. Furniture didnt look like it has been cleaned or wiped down for a while. The lift area/lobby was not the cleanest aswell. Looked run down and needed new carpet. Room was similiar in terms of cleaniness and […] needed some cleaning on walls. New carpeting needed too. Hotel was ok for price and location considering i came from Thailand and paid half of what i paid at Citin was cleaner and inviting to stay in whilst in Thailand. First impressions count and Citin did not live up to this. Much needed renovation or maintenance on walls, carpeting and cleaning in general. Audit cleaning should be carried out on a regular basis to maintain the cleaniness of each room and lift areas. Lees meer

great location if you like flea market shopping and indian, malay food.very convenient to everywhere, right besides the subway station and only 2 stops away from KL central.By taking bus there from airport can avoid super expensive taxi charge. very nice, clean and well kept modest hotel, great option for the price.

First of all, the hotel was easy to find as we had read the reviews prior to coming. The check-in was pleasant and the staff very helpful. The stalls around the hotel were a bonus as they showcased the real face of Malaysia which we were looking for rather than the usual tourist sites. The Mydin emporium nearby was great and we purchased many items […] as the prices were very reasonable. Transport was also no problem as the Masjid Jamek LRT was just a minute away. The room was pleasant, reasonably clean and was comfortable. The morning prayer call was no problem at all. In fact, it added to the atmosphere and we enjoyed the cultural immersion. Overall, a very good place to stay. We will be back on our next trip to KL. Well Done! Lees meer

the entrance is hidden behind market stalls, so the first time you find it is a fluke, then you know where to go. free internet was slow one night, but reasonable speed others. decent value for money, i booked an additional 2 nights after original 3. definately only 2 star though.

Nice and close to rail and only 2 stops from kl sentral. Small rooms but fine as all i needed was somewhereto sleep, although morning prayers on loudspeaker outside was as good as any alarm clock. Safe in room for passport etc. You just have to find a gap in market stalls to enter the hotel! Generally pretty happy with my stay

Pretty good and friendly staff. Unluckily my room is facing the mosque and I'm awake every morning by the pray, however, this is compensated by the nice view of KLCC and KL Tower. They are awesome especially at night!
