Spanish Arch Hotel in Galway

This is a great location, everything you could possibly need is located within a block or two of the hotel (fish and chips, restaurants, shops etc)

The location is absolutely fantastic. You are centrally located within all the Galway City hotspots. Bars, restaurants, and shopping all within a couple of minutes walk. This hotel is really more of a bar than it is a hotel. Fortunately, we were on the 4th floor but even then, you could hear the music at night. The bar and staff is great though. Very […] helpful, friendly, and professional. The lift was broken on our first day (not very good when you've got luggage and your room is on the 4th floor) but was fixed the following day. WIFI only really works on the bar area and maybe the 1st floor. We definitely didn't get connection all the up the 4th floor. It's an older hotel, but has charm and is maintained very well. We booked this hotel first and read the reviews afterwards, with much trepidition. While the reviews were acurate about the noise, that is part of staying in the middle of the city. Our 7& 8 year olds never heard a thing while the pub was in full swing and letting out or when the morning deliveries, etc started up. I think the rate was very reasonable […] and the location ideal. We booked a quadruple room that had four twin beds that were perfect for us. The room was a bit dated, but pretty comfortable...we only where there to sleep. The pub was really cool...very intricate wood work, comfortable seating, fires...old, funky style...kid friendly. Loved it! Lees meer

While this hotel is in a wondefully central location, it hosts one of the livleiest bars on Quay Street and the party doesn't stop til after 3am. If you are in town to see and be seen and aren't concerned with getting to bed early, this hotel definitely has bang for the buck. The hotel was excellant for 2*. Room wasn't huge but beds were very very comfortable, and as it was in the middle of all the 'buzz' of city,we didn't need car during our stay. Lots of good eating places for breakfast and dinner, very reasonably priced and good value! All staff were very easy going ang friendly when we arrived. On return to residents bar that night the bar man and I disagreed about my change (or lack of). He was extremely rude, used foul language to me, was very obnoxious and was very red in face he was arguing with me so much. After approximately 40 mins of same a manageress returned my change to […] me and he again came toward me swearing at me. stayed at hotel on 5th june. Its in great location, but we never slept. noise from people outside all nite long even when windows were closed. reception was closed when we arrived home after 1am. had difficulty getting past bouncers. This wasnt explained to us, so if you arrive home later you may not be let in. On plus side eating out around the area […] woz cheap but paying 95e to listen to people rowing and fighting all nite. The Spanish Arch is in a great spot but needs more services. The neighborhood is super fun and there is parking near by, although it is expensive. For some reason you can not use the room phone to do anything but call the desk and the hotel wifi didn't work at all. A modern hotel must have working phones and internet for travelers.

The location is ideal - right in the middle of shopping, restaurants and pubs. Unfortunately, the service was bad. The front desk person we dealt with was rude and uninterested in helping us. We asked her to store our bags since we were early for check in and 2 hours later, our bags were sitting unattended near the front entrance. The room was clean […] - small, but not unusual for a European hotel room. Unfortunately, mid-way through the night, an extremely loud noise started up (it sounded like a jack hammer) and never stopped. Upon trying to call the front desk multiple times, no one responded. We later found out that no one works at the front desk in the evening. Overall, good location, but poor value for your money. Lees meer

Location super, staff so helpful and friendly. Rooms spotless. Could not find fault with this hotel. Will return
