it's a little bit dated, especially the bathroom fixtures, but clean and not unattractive - nice location on the "boardwalk"/promenade and a comfortable walk, for me anyway, from the el portillo train station (to downtown Malaga just 15 mins.) . otherwise, taxis are on the street corner. good food service. quiet neighborhood but i think i was a bit […] ahead of full season. Clean comfy room, friendly reception staff and quiet location. Good value. Will stay there again soon.

Stopped for one week weather was good witch made the stay even better rooms were spacious and carpeted clean food was average rooms cleaned everyday would stay again plenty todo nearby loads if bars close lovely prom 20 yards from main entrance

i had a very pleasant stay at the hotel la barracuda the bedroom was spacious the food very good and varied overall a hotel i will be going back to

this hotel was very good in general and being on the beach would make it an excellent location in summer.The only negative was that the bar closed rather early,and this was probably due to the time of year.Would return here in the future.

Elevators very slow but othervise OK experience

After reading other peoples reports on this hotel I was pleasantly suprised. The food was good the breakfast was nice, if you like your food really hot there's a micro wave. What more can you ask?? The pool area is lovely you can over look at the sea and be on a sunbed on the grass for those who do not like beaches. I don't often stay in 3 star hotels , and although the majority of the reviews for the hotel were good, some seemed to suggest that the hotel was awful, so i was a little worried before checking into the hotel. As others have stated, Yes, the hotel does look dated and it could do with an update asap, but, the beds were comfortable, the air conditioning […] units although were very old, did work ok and it was lovely returning to a cold room after a super hot day in the sun. There were 3 lifts, which was great , as the hotel did get very busy , and it has 10 floors. The food - we were 5 people in the party , 2 of which are vegetarian, but there was always something for us to eat. And i was impressed that in 10 days of eating there, there was a good variety of food for the lunch and dinner. The breakfast was also very good, croissants, toast, eggs, beans etc. The only down side was the cereal ( only one type which didn't appeal to me). Another good thing about the hotel is the flexibility - on half board we were able to daily change between breakfast and lunch, or breakfast and dinner. Which was very helpful to us. The location was fantastic, the strip of beach we were near was lovely, sandy, with a good selection of restaurants and bars, with shopping areas 10 mins away. And the lovely Marina was also only 10 mins away. The hotel did try to provide nightly entertainment which was an added bonus, dancing, music and a bird show. Finally, we found the hotel was mainly aimed at older groups ( 50+) but this may have been the time of year , as it was out of season ( late September to October), but that seemed to apply to the area as a whole! =) All in all, i think it was a lovely hotel and i would recommend for anyone looking for a sunny holiday by a lovely beach and on a budget! p.s. Some rooms are available for smokers, so make sure you request a non smoking one if you hate the smell. Also, take a travel kettle as they are not provided in rooms. Lees meer

Very old and dated hotel. Noisy and not well maintained. Lousy breakfast and wi-fi didn't work. The only good thing is the location and view.

Stayed here for 4 nights. In a great location, right on the beach, very near the marina. Very clean hotel and nice and quite at night and it has a clean pool area and outside bar. Huge breakfast selection. Would def stay here again..

Brilliant location. Very close to Benalmadena Port - bars restaurants etc. Right on the beach. Would definitely recommend. €5 for tennis court is annoying though.

We were looking for a cheap hotel close to the beach and airport, and it ticked those boxes. Very basic room, and dated decor. The walls are paper thin and cleanliness could improve. There is nothing special about this hotel. It is quite old (at least, it feels old) and may be good only if you want to stay at the beach and do not care about how nice the place you ar going to sleep in.

I booked this hotel not knowing anything about the location at all it turned out to be very nice.It was right on the beach. The neighborhood around the hotel was also nice if you do not speak spanish there is a very large English community there. The Half Moon Pub around the corner is a nice place to eat.

Lækker beliggenhed, men lad være med at spise på hotellet - er slet ikke pengene værd.. God tur til Torremolinos ;)

Lite imøtekommende resepsjonspersonale, men ellers hyggelig betjening. Litt dårlig kapasitet ved frokost, lang kø. Fine omgivelser, deilig hage/basseng. Koselig rom med flott utsikt.

Hotel correct si promotions sinon cher pour ses prestations. Nous étions plusieurs à trouver la nourriture froide quelle que soit l'heure d'arrivée au resto.Hotel à environ 2.5km du centre de torremolinos mais il y a des bus à 200m de l'hotel.Personnel correct mais c'est un hotel très vieillissant qui nécessite une rénovation complète des chambres.

Slidt....men rent. Dejlig atmosfære. Herlig udsigt fra vores værelse på 9. etage. BESTEMT pengene værd. Kan varmt anbefales.

Es la segunda vez que voy a éste hotel y me gusta mucho. Algo antiguo pero con habitaciones muy amplias. La situación es inmejorable.recomendable 100%

Hotel antiguo de 3 estrellas, pero en general muy bien su situación, calidad-precio y servicio. Sólo estuvimos una noche, pero la comida y desayuno bastante selectos. El personal muy amable.

lo unico bueno de este hotel es su ubicacion, comida poca variedad,mal cocinada ,de baja calidad y repititiva, mobiliario viejo , camareros restaurante ,poco atentos, limpieza no muy buena, precios de las bebidas en la cafeteria muy caros, en fin que a este hotel le sobra una estrella, no se lo recomiendo a nadie,

el hotel genial con mucha animacion y variedad en el bufe

hotel comfortable,en primera linea del mar,gran situacion,comodo y ha muy buen precio,recomendable.

Es impresionante la profesionalidad de los recepcionistas.

Det som trakk ned på oppholdet, var sengen. Madrassen var alt for hard for oss som har leddgikt eller andre kroppslige plager. Da det ikke var noen overmadrass, var det ingen ting som gjorde komforten som forventet

ES UN HOTEL MUY VIEJO, CON LAS INSTALACIONES MUY VIEJAS PERO ABSOLUTAMENTE LIMPIO, LAS VISTAS MARAVILLOSAS, ESTABAMOS EN LA 10 PLANTA. EL RECEPCIONISTA MUY DESAGRADABLE Y ANTIPATIQUISIMO.

We stayed at La Barracuda in September 2011. We had booked a non-smoking room, but when we arrived the room reeked of smoke. The hotel only had non-smoking rooms, but previously it must have had smoking rooms as well, and ours must have been one of them. The walls were yellowish from nicotine, so to us there was no doubt. Clearly we complained, but […] in the reception they were unable to help us claiming they were all full. Moreover their breakfast buffet was a joke and not at all worth its price. Luckily we found a small cafe literally only 75m(!) from the hotel entrance, were we could have a proper breakfast for two persons for under 10 Euro. Hotell precis vid havet och fint poolområde. Några minuters promenad in till Torremolinos längs strandpromenad. Ganska slitet hotell men rent. Reste med familjen 4 pers. Fick ett litet rum för två med två extrabäddar för barnen, lite trångt. Bra frukostbuffé. Man fick betala för solstolar inne på området. Ett ok hotell.

Hotellet har en fin beliggenhet i forhold til stranda, restautanter, lekeplasser og butikker. Standarden er Ok, og sevicen, og maten er meget bra. Mulighet for å bade i bassengen utenfor hotellet, massasjestoler finnes også i lobbyn, for de som blir fort slitne.Det er daglig rengjøring av rommene, hyggelige personalet, og de fleste snakker engelsk .Ellers […] alle fasilitetter i umiddelbar nærhet. Byen Toromollinos er absolutt verdt å ta en titt på. Oppholdet på Hotel Barracuda anbefales. Mye for lite penger. Lees meer

Vi var meget glade for det værelse vi havde bedt om på 9. sal, med udsigt over havet og havnen. Hotelet er noget slidt, men personalet venligt, lidt ensartet - morgenmad - aftensmad, men retfærdigvis var hotellet også "kun" 3 stjernet. Det største problem for os og andre gæster var at man havde lavet aftaler med flere Portugisiske "skoler" der var ca. […] 60 unge menesker der ikke lige forstod at der også var andre end dem. Mange andre gæster rystede på hovedet over, hvad de tillod sig, høj musik, tog håndklæder fra liggestolene, så de selv kunne bruge dem. Var meget støjende under spiningerne m.m. Lees meer

Ok rent, dårlig morgenmad - men hvad kan man forvente for 300kr for 2 personer?

Standard hotel med godt rummeligt værelse. Gode senge, fint badeværelse med kar. rengøring og oprydning på værelset dagligt, + sengeredning. Ingen larm fra vej. dejlig ro på hotellet. Morgenmads buffét desværre ret kedelig.

Selv om noen har skrevet at de snakker godt engelsk i dette området så var det ikke tilfellet med oss så det var litt vanskelig å komme fram. Vi gikk fra Torremolinos og det tok ca 45 min. Vi reiste i Januar så det var kraftig vind og ca 10 - 15 grader. Rommet var ganske slitt og om natten kunne man høre den kraftige stormen utenfor. Sengene er ikke […] behagelige og det lukter litt kloakk på rommet når man først ankommer. Morgenmaten var ok, selv om det så litt farlig ut til å starte med. Kanskje hvis det var sommer så hadde det vært bedre med et hotell på stranden men om vinteren kan jeg kun anbefale å reise til Malaga sentrum. Vi sjekket ut tidlig og fikk et godt hotell i Malaga - Room mate Larios som er på gågaten ;) Lees meer
