It was our wedding night and the service and staff were outstanding. They upgraded our room and provided us with flowers and champagne. The room was awesome.

We stayed for 3 nights in March 2013. Arriving at 11.00pm, we were welcomed warmly, upgraded at reception, and taken to our room. Significantly larger than a typical Manhattan hotel bedroom the facilites are excellent - good linen on the bed, flat screen TVs, Nespresso machine and so on. Save up and stay here. They even have a hotel car (Maserati) that we used on an number of occassions to save out feet and stave off the cold. The 'Personal Assistants' made a number of great recommendations for places to eat, including Penelope's and the Brooklyn Diner for breakfast and Rosa Mexicano for dinner (great Margaritas) and Max Brenner for […] chocolate of all kinds! Setai hotel located in 5th avenue which is a very convenient location.The Empire State Building, Time square, Theater district, Rockefeller center are in walking distances.. The room we have stayed is wonderful, huge bed, and lovely kitchen with Espresso Machine. The Setai is well located and is perfect for business trips. The rooms are large and modern.

Cannot recommend the Setai 5th avenue highly enough. The rooms are amazing, the staff are amongst the best I have come across, and the location in Mid Town is perfect. You simply cannot go wrong staying here. The only downside is the cost of room servicing which is extreme, but it doesn't diminish the quality of the hotel at all.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights over Christmas 2012 and we cannot say enough positive things about our time at the hotel. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and bright with nice, large windows (they had blackout curtains though so sleeping was not difficult). The housekeeping was impeccable and we loved the turndown service at night- the […] "homemade" cookies left for us were a great touch. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and helpful, not superficial or pushy. The complimentary in-room mini bar was stocked daily with pop and water and my husband loved the Nespresso machine as well. The hotel bar with the live jazz was a relaxing place to have a night cap after spending the day touring the city. Finally, the location of the hotel is ideal and super convenient too for walking to anything that you would want to see in Midtown, the Garment district and beyond. The biggest rooms I've ever seen in a NYC hotel, with the highest ceilings thrown in for good measure. Very quiet, despite the 5th avenue location. Although the lobby and public areas of this hotel do not have the space and decor of many high end luxury resorts the real reason to stay here is the incredible suites. We booked a one bedroom with a small living room that included a kitchen and breakfast bar. The 1050 sq foot suite was like a modern yacht with lots of wood fixtures and panels. The […] bedroom was huge and included a 26 'x 11' sleeping area, a large marble bathroom with a gigantic tub that could fit two with ease, at least three closets as well as a washer & dryer. Our view from the 25th floor was unobstructed by tall buildings and the East River was partly visible. The Chrysler Building and other towers were just to the north and lovely at night. Large floor to ceiling windows that could be opened slightly were a welcome surprise and clever cantilever design. Outstanding and attentive staff meet your every request. Sleep in and have the room service breakfast! Don't miss Keens Steakhouse next door and The Morgan Library one block away. Lees meer

We stayed here during Hurricane Sandy and we could not get over the friendliness and professionalism of the hotel staff. They have to be the nicest staff in a hotel we have ever come across. Not staged or phoney and couldn't do enough for you. As a result of the hurricane the power was out in a lot of New York, the hotel staff, whilst extremely restricted […] as to what they could do to make everyone feel comfortable without power, sprung into action with back up plans to ensure all guests were looked after. There was a skeleton crew on during the hurricane who worked extremely hard and whilst they were exhausted still managed to go beyond the call of duty. We stayed during huricain Sandy. All power went out due to no fault of the hotel therefore our stay was not quite the five star expierance that we were looking for. The Setai is a Beautiful modern hotel with great staff. The restaurant ambiance was lovely and the food was wonderful. The only downside was our room not being ready when we checked in at 4. We would definitely stay again.

honestly it is a quality first rate hotel of that there is no doubt, however its bland , corporate and lacks any kind of soul, nothing but people in suits. The decor although modern is bland you dont walk in and say "wow" this place is amazing like say the Venetian in Vegas. Also unless you are above the 10th Floor with Richey Rich and his pals forget about any kind of view, unless of course a concrete enclosed yard surrounded by boarded up windows is your thing. I ordered a suite for our 15th Wedding Anniversary. My expectations were a decent room with a small living space. When we walked in I could not believe what we got! A beautiful foyer with a 1/2 bath. A large living area with an open kitchen with large corner windows overlooking Fifth Avenue. Then off the living area was a nice sized bedroom with a grand […] bathroom (large shower and tub). It was awesome. I felt like I'd borrowed a billionaire's condo in the sky for a few nights. Our rooms were not ready on time, but the rest of our stay was fantastic. The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms are exactly what we expected and saw on the hotel website. Hotel is a few blocks from the Empire State Building and the NY Public Library. . . plenty to see and not far from most sights around town.

Top of the line service, which to me means, fast, knowledgeable, and courteous. Outstanding kitchen set-up with everything you could need and more. Wonderful bathroom and the mlost closet space I have ever seen in a hotel. Nice to see that they put the money from expensive rates , into the quality of the room.

A truly wonderful hotel. I have stayed in some top places but this was really up there - especially for New York! The size of the room was amazing, but the little touches are what make it special. The delivery of little snacks and treats several times a day, the free soda and coffee, the gigantic bath, the little thank you note left by the maid when […] we left her tips, the TV inside the bathroom mirror, the extensive provision of bathroom kit (not just the usual shampoo and the like; we're talking sewing kits, cotton buds, combs, etc.). Oh, and the bed was one of the largest and most comfortable I have ever used. The location is great as most places are within walking distance, but the subway (including Grand Central) is also 5-10 minutes away if you need speed or get tired! The only negative we had was in the bar - ordered two drinks, were told to sit down and they would be brought over. Repeated our order to two waitresses but after 15 minutes nothing came... So we left. Plenty of better, cheaper bars nearby (including the cool rooftop bar at the Strand round the corner). I'm not sure if it is worth the headline price but if we get a decent deal again I would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends. Lees meer

This hotel is perfect in every way. Things started when I was assigned a PA before arriving. She was helpful in giving me exactly the information I asked for and not overburdening me with anything I wasn't interested in. The room was clean, spacious and well furnished. It was great that there was no effort required in hooking my laptop up to the TV. […] The shower/bath always provided immediately hot water and came with soap, bath/shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Room service seemed to adapt over time to when you tended to be out of the room. Random savoury or sweet treats were sometimes left in the room for when you'd arrive back in the evening. The restaurant that is part of the hotel, Al Fiori, had food of a no less exquisite level of quality. Had a great experience , this was our first trip to New York and I did alot of research before I left, I knew when I picked The Setai on Fifth Ave it would not disappoint me. The staff was kind and the room was beautiful clean and some very modern ammenities, We felt like we were treated Very Special ! It was a few steps from 34th ave and the Empire […] State building. When you walked out of hotel there was a great breakfast place around the corner, many souvenir shops and other shops. I would only return to New York to stay at The Setai again, It was quiet place to sleep at night, One thing that may be important to some ppl, the beds are low to the ground., so if you like higher beds this may not be for you.
