Doubletree By Hilton Istanbul Old Town in Istanbul

Excellent service from front desk, bellboy and restaurant staff combined with very comfortable bed and spacious well equipped (upgraded) room made for pleasant one night stay. Centrally located for most of the major sights with tram line in main street in front of hotel. Would stay again if we return to Istanbul.

The overall stay was pleasant. Rooms are a bit small but comfortable & clean. Staff are very friendly. the location is a bit noisy at the heart of the old town. recommended.

Very convenient location - Hotel on busy street and traffic noise can be loud at time in the front facing rooms. Excellent service.

This hotel was recommended to me by a friend that works for hilton as it has just recently opened. I found a great deal on Hotels.com and so decided to go for it. The confirmation description said we would have a King room with Patio and view of the city. Overall the stay was good - comfortable beds, amazing shower and nice new and modern styled room. the […] bad points were: Air conditioning pre-set to 26C that heated the room up so hot that you couldn't sleep. I finally managed to work out how to turn this down but every time you opened a window or door it reset to the standard 26C. Description - I was not given a room with a patio or a view of the city. Instead my room faced the inside of the hotel and so my window looked right onto the business centre where everyone was looking on the internet and the hotel reception. Therefore, I couldn't really ever open the net curtains - giving the room a bit of a claustrophobic feel. Not sure I would pay the top dollar prices to stay here as it didn't really have an atmosphere of a busy inner city hotel. You could probably get something similar in the Sultanhamet region and be just as, if not more, happy Lees meer

This is the best location for a tourist in istanbul. The tram station is right in front of the hotel entrance, We covered all the major attractions of historical interest such as Topkapi, Haga Sofia, Blue Mosque ,Spice Bazar , Grand Bazar, Dolmabaci Palace and all the shopping malls by using a tram/metro connections entirely on our own without using […] a taxi Some areas such as Taksim & Cevahir are a short taxi ride from Kabatas station. Hotel was good enough to store our luggage for 4 days when we went to Izmir & Cappadocia. Direct connection to International airport by changing to Metro at Zeytinburnu tramway station. The hotel was clean, friendly staff, Excellent location - 1/2 block from tram station, close enough to walk everywhere. Spa area in the lower level was amazing at the end of a long day. Although I didn't use the workout room, it was a nice size and had plenty of great equipment. We will recommend this hotel to anyone!

This is a wonderful, very modern, highly comfortable 5-star hotel in one of the world's most beautiful and one of my favorite cities--Istanbul. Top-notch facilities (spa, Turkish hamam, gym), excellent food in three indoor restaurants/bars, super old city location close to all tourist attractions there. Not for me . I need privacy and fresh air

This hotel is comfortable, efficient, clean and modern. The rooms are small but reasonably well appointed. There is no view whatsoever from at least half of the rooms, and the others are on a very busy avenue. Very good breakfast. 5 - 10 minutes walk to Grand Bazaar; 15 - 20 to Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque; 20 - 25 to Topkapi. Dining options in the neighborhood […] are quite limited. We had a wonderful stay at the Double Tree. With the tram located in front, we were able to see the sights of old town easily and with little effort.

Within walking distance to Grand Bazaar, easy to reach from airport. Excellent location for this part of Istanbul. Beware: There's another Doubletree in town called Moda which is on the Asian side so very far. Don't book that by mistake.

First class hotel in the middle of town and evening life, qarantied satisfaction.

First time in Istanbul and the hotel was great, The location was perfect for walking to the Grand Bazaar or the famous Mosques. The people spoke English and were very hospitible. The metro is easy to take to other parts of the cit and and pick you up almost right in front of your hotel. Taksim is another great shaping area, kinda westernized, but the […] nightlife is only recommended if you are traveling with someone else, preferably a man or at least 3+ women. If you want to stay in the Old Town area, the Doubletree Hilton is a great choice. The staff was very helpful and friendly, breakfast was good, and it was quite easy to get to all of the sites that Istanbul Old Town has to offer. Very close to the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, and even walking distance to Istanbul Asia side. The tram is cheap and easy […] to use, and goes to the Asia side if you'd rather not walk. Excellent location, walking distance to main attractions and bazaars. Friendly staff, clean room (one chair was rather run-down, surprising for such a new hotel), splendid breakfast, ok bar, roof-top restaurant convenient, though food was not anything special. Will certainly stay here again, when I visit Istanbul.

If you just have carry on bags one can take a train from airport get down in Zetinburnu and then catch a tram to Lalelli Universite Tram station (total cost is 4 Turkish Lira). Hotel location is perfect to see all the historical places and lots of food places. The grand bazaar is walking distance. I really like this hotel. I was very close to everything i wanted to see on this trip. The hotel staff was amazing and very professional. The warm chocolate chip cookie was a nice touch.

This hotel is an all-around great pick. The location is incredibly convenient. You can walk to most of the historic sights, or you can take the tram which stops right in front of the hotel. In10 mins - you're at the Grand Bazaar. In 15 mins - you're at the Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Hagia Sophiam, Topkapi Palace and the Archaelogy Museum. Can't go wrong. […] The transportation system is very user-friendly. Visit the kiosk/newspaper stand to the left of the hotel and purchase an Istanbul card. You will have to leave a deposit of 6 TL or so but they will return it when you bring back the card at the end of your trip. The hotel rooms are a bit tight - but comfotable and clean. The beds are great, exactly what you would expect from a Double Tree. There should be two bottles of water waiting for you when you return from you sightseeing each day. The hotel has a breakfast buffet service that I would recommend signing up for. There is a pretty large display of foods - and it kind of allows you to skip having to purchase a large midday meal. The hotel also has a spa which includes a sauna, turkish bath, jacuzzi, and steam bath. It was an awesome respite from the cold. Fantastic way to relax after sightseeing on your feet all day. A couple of cons. (A) The hotel restaurant is quite pricey for what is on the menu. It's nothing special at all. I would highly recommend skipping it and jumping on the tram that comes literally every 5 mins for dinner or walking no more than 10 mins to a bunch of different spots. (B) This hotel charges a fee if there is more than 1 person in the room. Even if the 2nd person is not eating breakfast at the hotel, there is still a surcharge. This bothered me but the price for the hotel was right so I couldn't complain too much. Staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. They are more than happy to make reservations on your behalf and were willing to provide recommendations on several occassions. Lees meer

When I arrived at the hotel, the doorman helped me get my luggage off the taxi, he then carried the luggage to the hotel lobby. I checked-in by just giving my last name at the reception desk. The bellboy accompanied me to the room, where he explained everything to me about the room, lights, bathroom, restaurant, the key card (which had to be inserted […] all the time in order for the lights to stay on). The room was extremely clean, the bathroom was spotless and big. The shower was a bit tricky to operate, but that just could be my ignorance of how the system works there). The staff at the reception desk was very helpful when I asked how I could see the city, the historic sites around the town. Definitely it was a very pleasant stay and I'd consider the same hotel next time I visit Istanbul. Lees meer

Dubletree by Hiton old town is an extremelly nice and convinient location. Very clean and pleasent stuff. I have stayed there twice. Very closed to the Grand bazar also steaps way from the tram .. Just wish the SPA was a little cheaper.

Very comfortable, great location for Old town and Grand Bazaar. Staff tried to be responsive and helpful and we did get a sense that they were trying hard to please. If you get a discounted rate then its great value for Istanbul.

The hotel's location was very convenient. Tramway was right across from the street. We were able to walk to the Grand Bazaar in 10 minutes. We also walked to Sultanahmet to see the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. The service and the staff were very good. I will stay here again. Ambient modernity in the Old Town We had a wonderful extended November weekend in Istanbul, not the least because of being accommodated in the Doubletree Hilton. We received a pefect treat: 1) Flexibility: Beacuse of our travel schedule we were given the room ahead of the official check-in time and allowed to stay a few hours over-time without extra […] charge. 2) Friendlyness and quality of service were both superb on all 8 floors from spa to the top-view restaurant. All requests were promptly attended. 3) The ambience of the modern spa charmed us in particular. 4) The breakfast left nothing to be desired. 5) Not only the warm complimentary bisquits from the reception but their friendlyness and readiness to serve warmed also the minds of travellers. 6) The location was perfect for strolling to major historical and archeological sites as well as reaching out for romantic scenic views, culinary atractions and traditional shopping malls. 7) The hotel was easy to reach from the airport and back by the metro-tram connection. 8) The business centre was also well-equipped and well-connected free of charge (e.g. for check-ins). 9) If anything remained to be wished, it was that the room could have been a bit more spaceous and the view from the balcony more scenic. Hotel restaurant was good. The Chocolate Chip cookies on arrival were delicious. Close to Grand Bazaar and Blue Mosque. Right on Tram line making transport easily accessible. Hotel staff were helpful and accomodating.

This hotel was among the best we have seen--wonderful breakfast, incredibly close to all the sights and well appointed. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful and very convenient

My husband and I spent 3 nights at this centarlly located hotel in the Beyazit Area of Istanbul. Well located to all the major attractions with the tram system just outside the from doors made it ver convenient. The staff was very helpful, in particular OSAM who spent almost one hour in our room trying the solve an issue with the access code for the […] internet. The breakfast had alot of selection and the staff was courteous and attentive. The rooms were quire narrow but this was not an issue for us because most of our time was spent sightseeing, but if travelling t\w\ith children who will be staying in your room this may be an issue ince there is not very much room if the pull out sofa is utilized. The terrace was a welcome surprise and we enjoyed coofee and wine between sightseeing. The in house spa is a must ! the Turkish bath very new and clean and the services provisded were great! This is a terrific hotel, comfortable, modern, with excellent amenities,in a very good location, within walking distances of the major sites, and right next to a tramway stop which can take you to other locations. The staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. The price of rooms is very moderate,particularly with internet rates from Hotels.Com..

If you only have a couple of days, this is in a perfect location. All the key attractions are within walking distance. Service was excellent and the hotel is new.

We stayed just one night at this hotel but would have loved to stay longer. The hotel is very clean and modern with helpful and friendly staff. (In particular the doorman went beyond the call of duty in giving us advice). The breakfast was particularly impressive with an enormous selection of delicious fresh foods. There was definitely something to […] suit every taste. The area in which this hotel is located is the "Old town" which is steeped in history with lots to see and surrounded by Bazaars, with many shops nearby. There is not really a good selection of restaurants and bars in this area however and so a taxi ride to the city centre was necessary for us. The only drawback with the hotel was that our twin room was quite small and the hotel itself has more of a business feel, whereas we had been on holidays for nearly a month at this point and were used to hotel rooms with a little more space. I have stayed at several hotels in Istanbul and the Doubletree is probably my favorite. It's walking distance to the Grand Bazaar and the tram to Hagia Sofia is right in front of the hotel. The hotel is brand new and superbly decorated in a tasteful, modern style. The rooms are clean and well-appointed. My only gripe is that the rooms are somewhat narrow. […] But the 100 square foot private terrace off the bathroom more than made up for it. I have paid twice the price for rooms of similar quality in other 5-star hotels in Istanbul. The Doubletree is by far the best value that I've seen. Lees meer
