Service was wonderful, the owners are lovely people and very accommodating. You couldn't ask for a better location. Breakfast was delicious. The wifi was a bit slow, even in the main areas, but the hotel was full while we were there, which may have burdened it. While the room was nice and spacious, the mattress was a bit hard and the pillows were a […] bit flat. There were extra pillows however, and we were tired, so we slept fine. In almost all respects we had a 5* experience in Stone Villa. The comfort and amenities provided in the room were of luxury hotel quality, the hospitality was excellent and the breakfasts were wonderful. The private car parking was a definite bonus, but the 20 min walk into the city centre was a bit longer and less scenic than we would have liked - […] although there is a convenient bus service. We were unfortunate that our shower didn't work the first morning (too hot and no temperature regulation - which was promptly fixed later in the day) and on the second morning at 9.00 am there was no hot water at all. This is a great guesthouse with a really good location for visiting points if interest in the Chester area. Room was comfy and clean. Staff were friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was filling and tasty! Great value for money and would definitely use this guesthouse again.

Everything was very nice. Comfortable & fairly large room with a double & a single bed, easy chair, wardrobe with loads of hangers, plenty room to walk around. Good sized (at least 26") flat screen TV & DVD, Fridge with complementary bottles of water, Large bathroom with shower over bath & top notch mixer. Hotel was perfect for our one night stop-over in Chester. Clean, comfortable room. Helpful staff and a great breakfast. Very convenient to the town centre by a nice 10 - 15 minute walk. Could have easily stayed longer.

we are not fans of B&Bs but spent a weekend here because of the good reports on trip advisor, and we were not disappointed. The room was great with modern on suite and good quality beds, the owners were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was very good, if we are in the area again we will make a point of staying here.

Good value stay at Stone Villa. Staff welcoming and breakfast was lovely. The layout of the room could have been better to optimise space. Everything very clean. Good quality sheets and towels but maybe a bit old. TV needs updating also. Small things really, nice stay.

Owners very welcoming. Room had lots of little extras that made stay enjoyable. Best breakfast ever had so much choice and all cooked well. On bus route so no problem getting into town however lovely walk by canal if nice day. Excellent pub across road for a good meal and outside seating area. Car parking on site. The hotel looked clean and tidy and the room we were given (I stayed with my husband) was lovely but the service left a lot to be desired. There was an extensive breakfast menu which sounded great but what was served did not meet our expectations. My husband ordered a 'full English breakfast but no egg' (he is allergic to eggs) but no bacon was included […] although it was listed on the menu. Also, my husband's toast wasn't even cooked while my toast was burnt. I ordered porridge as I enjoy a good bowl of porridge but it really have any flavour at all. I (or rather, we) will certainly not stay there again and I wouldn't recommend the hotel.Also, the hotel advertised 'free wi-fi' for guests but didn't provide the security key code to enable us (or any other guests) to access the internet. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience and one I don't wish to repeat. Lees meer

Plenty of parking if you have a car or walking distance from the Chester train station. About 20 minutes to walk to the center of historical Chester area (the cathedral, the rows, town hall, etc). Great breakfast- helpful staff. I had made arrangements for myself and two other couples. Everyone was happy.

Pleasant staff, good bed, great breakfast, rained all day before we arrived to provide a swimming pool in car park, still there was plenty of parking, easy drive to inner city, too far to walk, close to major road out, liked stay and cost.

Had no control over heating of the room either and it was cold at times during my three night stay. Loud music from pub near by could be off putting for some guests, went on till late. Comfortable large room on the ground floor, it was fairly quiet although you could hear next door's TV and the floorboards above were very creaky. A wide variety of smells greeted us upon arrival, ranging from the stale smell of cooked breakfast, to chlorine of cleaning detergents. The remaining hallways and room suffered from a lack of airing. The shower did not work sufficiently, heater control jammed. The bed was lumpy.

I'm a stickler for a clean bathroom and having read the reviews of this B&B I was convinced that it would meet my high expectations. Unfortunately I was to be disappointed. The bathroom was relatively clean, however in desperate need of redecoration - wallpaper (yes, in the bathroom??) peeling at the edges dues to moisture I suspect, as well as dis-coloured […] grout (black) around the bath. So much attention to detail, sweets on reception, sherry on arrival (free). Management even lent me a phone charger as I had forgotten mine. Breakfast was amazing, so much choice, and on the last day there was a power cut but we still got a hot cooked breakfast. Lots of little things in bedroom that made it special like tissues, cotton wool balls nail […] clippers, tweezers, iron/ironing board, radio alarm clock, flat screen TV, water in fridge, and a really good choice of tea and coffee etc. Bath toiletries were very good too. Location was a bit far out for walking into city centre but we managed but it would have been a miserable walk in the rain. All in all good value for money and would definitely stay there again. We really enjoyed our stay at the Stone Villa in Chester The manager made us feel very welcome and gave us the information we needed to get around Chester. The breakfast provided was a Great way to start the day. It was our first B&B and my wife and I and our teenage girls enjoyed it there.

This B&B gave us close walking access to the railway station and was at a quite location. Shops were close. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the walled town. Breakfast selection was good and the staff were helpful. Our only complaint was the hard bed.

we have stayed in several bed and breakfast places in chester and this was one of the best weve stayed in without a doubt the manager was very polite and even handed a birthday card to me at breakfast when he heard it was my birthday a very nice gesture will definately return.

I was met at the hotel with a warm welcome and shown to a spacious room with en-suite. The room has all the amenities you would expect and more. Breakfast was great and service was also excellent. I would definitely re-visit this hotel!!
