Ibis Bordeaux Centre Bastide in Bordeaux

I stayed at this hotel 2 nights in the beginning of May 2011. My room was very clean and not too tiny, I was happy with it. It's about a 15 minute walk from the hotel to the city centre, over the Pont de Pierre, the bridge crossing the river Garonne. Average. The room is big and comfortable; WiFi included for free. Somebody entered in my room at about 9:30 am: apparently the hotel is not organised to inform the room service who checked out an who not! Did not try breakfast, but is not included.

Pros: Easy check-in/check-out, clean, modern Cons: Impossible to sleep due to huge amounts of street noise. I have never been in a building where so much outside noise (big diesel engines in trucks, small high pitched motorcycle engines, etc...) gets in. I even got up out of bed in the middle of night to make sure my window was closed, thinking that […] must be the problem. No, my window was firmly shut -- the walls must be made of paper. Do not stay here if you want to get any sleep, you might as well sleep on the sidewalk it's that loud. Also, this is across the river from downtown, so you will have to do a lot walking if you want to see things (although this should be obvious if you look at a map before you book). Lees meer

The location was not great for a person commuting by train - getting bags all the way to Gare St Jean was a mission. There was a very strong burnt smell in the hallways on my floor that lasted the duration of 3 days stay. The room itself was okay but the mattress on the bed was very hard - could have been sleeping on the floor, bad for the back. There […] was no kettle or coffee and tea in the rooms - I found this very odd. I ordered at the bar one night - the food was prepared in the microwave, not a good look. This hotel was very clean and simple. The bed was reasonably comfortable and the small space had enough shelves and hangers and a small desk and seating area and a small tv mounted to the wall. The place had the overall impression of being very clean. there was free internet computer in the lobby for surfing. The bathroom in the room was very strange, […] kind of like an oval column with the toilet and sink on one side of the oval and a standup shower on the other side of the oval. it was functional and sufficient, just a little different. The hotel itself was off the beaten path, on the other side of the river from the old part of the city. You can take a tram from the train station and then transfer to another tram that goes across the river. The first stop after crossing the river, you get off and then walk a few blocks over to get to the hotel. There is a subway sandwich next to the hotel, a movie theater nearby and also a Carrefour market just behind it and a few restaurants if youre tired in the evening and dont want to go back across the river. meanwhile it takes about 15 minutes to get to the old part of the city from the hotel, walking to the tram then taking the tram into the old city. the trams are frequent and i don't recall the ticket price being too high. Overall i would recommend this hotel for its cleanliness but if you want to be close to the action of the city then this is not the place for you. Lees meer

there is construction going on, on the side of the hotel and they start early in the morning... The staff was nice and they understood some English. Overall, it's a clean place that isn't too far from the Metro.

bon emplacement, facile d'acces pour le centre ville de Bordeaux Personnel agreable et serviable rapport emplacement/qualite/prix ideal (particulierement pour des budgets limites) Egalement, nous etions en voiture et avons pu trouver des places "relativement" facilement.

Ligger på Bastid-sidan. Tar ca 15 min att gå till centrum. Bra, effektivt hotell. Prisvärt och rekommenderas.

Clim de la chambre trop forte et impossible à régler. La chambre était trop froide. Chambre cependant confortable. Bien sous tous rapports à l'exception du lit qui est équipé d'une planche en guise de sommier. Très difficile d'y trouver le sommeil. A la décharge de l'hôtel, je crois qu'il en est de même pour tous les Ibis.

Très bon accueil dans ce joli petit Hotel tout pres du centre historique de Bordeaux. Très jolie chambre, petit déjeuner copieux en buffet et de qualité. Je le recommande et j'y retourne des que possible !

Hotel tres design, propre, jolie déco. Très bonne insonorisation, wifi gratuit ( mais pas illimité en téléchargement ). A 15mn à pied du centre ( Place de la Bourse, Rue Ste Catherine ) en passant par le Pont de Pierre. Ou possibilité du tramway juste la rue d'à côté. Prix un peu excessif.
