Prima hotel, gunstige ligging aan de rand van het historisch centrum (3 min. lopen). Attent personeel. Kritiekpuntjes: bedden wat zacht (kwestie van smaak) en kort (2 meter). WC spoelde maar 1x door, daarna duurde het lang voor de stortbak weer gevuld was om opnieuw door te spoelen. Ga in centrum je ontbijt gebruiken. Dat is te duur in het hotel.

Je stapt je vleigtuig uit en het eerste wat je ziet als je naar buiten kijkt is het hotel. Binnen vijf minuten loop je overdekt naar binnen. Prachtige luxe ambiance in de hal, het zwembad daar in tegen was een beetje vergane glorie maar gelukkig langer open ipv eerder gelezen berichten op internet. Familiekamer was perefect, je zou kunnen vallen over de kwaliteit van het tweede bed in de familiekamer maar de ruimte maakt dat zeker goed. Nog nooit eerder zo'n fantastisch ontbijt genoten maar daar was de prijs ook naar. De tweede dag brak de anderhalf uur reistijd naar het centrum van Londen ons wel op. Er wordt gesproken van 75 minuten maar die zijn in het drukke stadsverkeer niet haalbaar. Toch bleek Easybus de snelste en het klantvriendelijkst!

In de gegevens op internet staat dat het hotel dichtbij alle bezienswaardigheden in Cambridge ligt en dat het in het centrum ligt. Het is een prima hotel maar ligt op een 1/2 uur met bus of taxi van het centrum. 's Avonds rijden er geen bussen meer en ben je dus aangewezen op een vrij dure taxi (14 GBP). het hotel heeft goede bedden en een goede service. Prima ontbijt en aardige, behulpsamen mensen. Alleen veel te ver van het centrum van Cambridge dus en in het dorpje Landbeach waar het ligt is verder helemaal niets te beleven/doen.

"Excellent location, but very noisy"
Ok for a one night stay, but due to a badly closing bathroom door you'll wake up 5 times during the night, because of people trying to slam the door shut. How difficult would it be for the hotel management to get this fixed?

Please know that you are staying right above not just a pub, but a "pub and live music venue." We stayed during the week, which I thought would be fairly quiet, but there were three nights of loud live music (out of four total). Things did quiet down though by 11:30 so it was fine. "Central and inexpensive"
Stayed here for one night while visiting my old college. Very central location, short walk to the centre of the city and the river. Found a spot to park for free on the street nearby. There is one bathroom to share, but there are only two or three rooms so this wasn't a problem. I got back to my room late, so the pub was already closed so I didn't hear […] any noise. "The Portland Arms - Just avoid the weekends"
This hotel is perfect for its quality/price ratio. The only thing was that we went to Cambridge to do an exam and the night before it was Friday which meant a lot of noise in the pub downstairs. The other downside is that there was a shared bathroom for all rooms. "Above a pub"
The room was really small and had no heat. It was surprisingly quite for being above a pub. The food was incredible. The prices were great for the food, and it tasted great too. Overall, it's a pretty good place to crash.

Make sure to bring your industrial-strength ear plugs, eyeshades, and maybe your own pillow . Do not bring children and if you have any trouble with heights or stairs, forget it. Otherwise, the place filled my need for a central Cambridge place to lay my head that wouldn't cost arms and legs. Beware that the entrance to the rooms is up a fire escape and is not easy if you have luggage. Very noisy due to live music.

This is actually three hotel rooms with a shared bathroom.
"Simple, no frills but cosy. Great staff."
Simple but cosy rooms that have everything you need: coffee making facilities, little mirror, good lighting, small tv. Bathroom not on suite but just outside and equally well appointed. Nice decor throughout. Only thing is, noise is a bit of an issue: Bed very creaky - you'd possibly wake each other up when turning over. Room door is also very creaky […] plus you have to slam the bathroom door to shut it so when going to the toilet at night I woke up people in the next room (there are 3 rooms in total). Plus my room had a view over the Portland Arms pub's beer garden which was very pretty but also very noisy. The windows ARE effective at shutting out most of the noise and I slept well - with ear plugs and the windows shut. Because there's only one bathroom for potentially 6 guests, queuing for the shower was also a bit of an issue. Overall though great for the price: a very charming place with super friendly, accommodating staff. Nice walk over the Green to get into the city centre (10-15 min on foot). I'd definitely recommend the Inn for an inexpensive no-frills stay in beautiful Cambridge. Lees meer

This inn was in a nice location reasonably close to the town and very close to the river and a park. It felt very safe and was in a very pretty space. There are also some shops nearby including a somewhat overpriced co-op and a boots, and we would often have breakfast at a really nice cafe we found there. The inn was very nice and welcoming. The room […] was quite small but it was comfortable and the TV had freeview! The bathroom is shared and so could sometimes be a bit messy and you could end up waiting for ages if someone is particuarly enjoying their shower, but there isn't anything the owners could really do about that! Live music is frequent at the inn. In our case this was really good as we enjoyed the variety and liked seeing the band. From our room the music could be heard really quite clearly - again, this was okay for us as we enjoyed the music but if you hate noise this might be a problem for you! The inn served food. We didn't actually try any of it but there seemed to be a good variety. They don't do breakfasts but there is a nice little cafe nearby which does great full english breakfasts, and the pub across the road does them too. Lees meer

With hotels, as with most things in life, you get what you pay for. As my room for the night at the Portland Arms was not expensive, I wasn't expecting five star luxury. As it was, I got a warm welcome, a clean room, and access to a functioning bathroom (shared, but, as I was the only guest, effectively en suite), which was precisely what I did expect. 整体感觉一般般。 首先，地理位置不太好，离中心较远，旁边是马路，一直有汽车，比较敏感的旅客可能都睡不了觉。然后要声明一下这里没有独立卫生间，不过还好一共就三间房所以不用怎么等。另外，这个小旅馆卫生不太好，有张被子有很明显的霉味，当时住的时候是一个人住双人间，所以幸好有两张被子，还有桌子地板洗手间都比较脏。再来有个小问题就是楼梯比较不好走，带箱子的搬箱子可能需要壮丁。。 这间旅馆的check-in/out的时间不是很严，所以还不错，另外有个不错的小电视^^ 还有一点需要说明一下，如果想住干净的酒店的话还是不要选择这里，但是如果喜欢在酒吧待着的话可以来，因为这个小旅馆跟前就是portland arms酒吧。 最后我的建议就是one night stay的话，可以住那，毕竟比较便，而且虽说 […] 离中心不近，但也不算远，毕竟剑桥也没多大。。 Lees meer
"Une petite auberge idéale pour WE entre amis"
Le Portland Arms est un pub très sympathique et accueillant. Le personnel est chaleureux et les chambres sont conformes à ce que l'on peut attendre pour ce prix. Juste un petit bémol sur le système e chauffage de la douche qui est un peu aléatoire dans son fonctionnement.

Nix Besonderes, 4 Gästezimmer im Obergeschoß eines Pub´s. 15 Minuten laufen bis zur Innenstadt. WC & Dusche auf dem Gang. Wer es "Einfach" liebt und auf Geld achten muss ist hier Richtig. Ich hab mich nur einfach "verbucht".

ホテルは混乱しやすいところに位置していて、 通りかかった警察の方に聞いても、場所がよくわからなかった。 パブの後ろに部屋があって、 とても簡単な設備で、ちょっとがっかりした雰囲気でした。

Ce n'est pas du tout un 3 étoiles !!! C'est une petite auberge mal insonorisée comptant 3 chambres avec salle de bain partagée sans même gel douche ni shampooing se trouvant au-dessus du bar du quartier. A éviter sauf si vraiment très bon marché juste pour passer la nuit. Vraiment déçu des informations données sur le site.
