There's nothing wrong with this hotel but there's nothing particularly RIGHT about it either. It was clean, well kept etc etc but there were no amenities. No restaurant, no lounge, the pool area was tiny and lackluster. It just lacks soul.

We were disappointed we had to wait 2 hours past check in for our room. The halls need vacuuming more often. There was so much dust on hallway tables in sitting area it was like no one dusted in months. The lobby by elevators is very dirty and muddy. It should be mopped once in a while. Also, has the parkade ever been cleaned? Looking at the condition […] I personally would not invest there as my investment would not be well kept. Hotel is very comfortable and ideal for families. Very new and updated. Would recommend better kitchenware (non stick frying pans) and pot scrubbers such as chore boy or SOS as everything would stick to the stainless steel frying pan provided and could not clean it properly. It would be helpful to have a broom and dustpan in room in order to keep things […] clean since there is no maid service until the 4th day. Only other drawback is BBQ on deck is electric and no good, so went to use the BBQs in the common area, but igniters were broken and there was no lighters with the BBQs to light them. Also, no lighting around BBQ area so very difficult to see when you want to BBQ at night. Lees meer

The suite was so much nicer than we had expected with a full kitchen, including wine fridge, oven, dishwasher, and all the small appliances we needed and more! The beds were comfy and the bathrooms each had a full tub with shower (the master bath had 4 shower heads)! At this time the pool was not connected to our building, which meant a short jaunt […] outside, but my two year old loved the splash area and pool. We had a great time at Solara. The room was very nice, fully furnished and a fully stocked kitchen to boot. We cooked breakfast every day of our stay, there was even a dishwasher! Bed was comfortable, lots of closet space. The lady was thrilled with the Soaker tub and lovely shower with multiple jets. We had a great stay. The Solara Resort & Spa is absolutely beautiful!! I would most certainly recommend this resort to anyone, either as a romantic getaway or a place for the whole family to enjoy.

Our room was beatuiful. Champagne and chocolates waiting for us is our suite. The amenities at the resort were fantastic and we very much enjoyed the use of the relaxation hot tub. We didn't go and watch a movie in the theater but went and looked at it and it was impressive. We will be going back and bringing the kids who will love the indoor splash […] park and theater. fireplace could be real instead of fake, hard to turn on pets shouldnt have a charge but glad they were allowed maps of buildings on outside would be helpful when walking around.easy to get lost very nice kitchen and bathrooms

We were stuck in an elevator for 20 min with 8 people. Very uncomfortable and claustrophobic. Something needs to be done about it.

Although this resort is beautiful, they had a lot of communication problems with the staff. They were supposed to clean our condo on the 4th day, and though we were out of town, never came the day after to do anything. We requested robes for the spa for 3 days and finally got them. The stove was confusing as it was celsius and not farenheit. It was […] a trial doing the conversions and no one could seem to help us. On a brighter note, The tubshower combo was awesome and so was the Bed. Very comfortable. The kitchen could have been stocked a little better though. On the last day as we were leaving the elevator went out and we had to walk our luggage down 4 flights of stairs. That stunk!!!! Our room was very nice, a home feeling that was quiet even though it was close to a set of train tracks. Other hotels had complaints about the train but I didn't hear a thing. Overall we were very pleased with the experience and recommended it to a lot of people that I am sure will be switching over and using hotel.com

All in all the stay was enjoyable. We had a few maintenance issues that never did get resolved but no big deal. The choice to stay at Solara was a great idea with having full kitchen, living room which had two electric fireplaces. We were not expecting the luxurious feeling of the room and thoroughly enjoyed the spacious floor plan and extra touches that made our stay extremely comfortable!! I will definitely stay at this resort again and am telling anyone who is willing to listen to stay at this resort! The location was perfect for us, as we enjoyed staying out of town a bit […] for the quiet and solitude and yet it is a very short drive in for shopping, meals, etc. Just a word of caution though, the washer and dryer are the energy efficient style and the washer takes 2.5 hours to run the cycle…wasn’t expecting that! The rooms were beautifully appointed if a little dark. The only problem we had was a very late check-in time which was frustrating after an early start and long flight. But overall an excellent facility. Sadly, we didn't have time to use the spa facilities but they certainly looked inviting.

Relaxing and enjoyable. All the amenities needed and location is perfect walking distance to the main town site and trails. Beautiful surrounds too. We'll definitely be coming back to this hotel.

Had a wonderful family vacation, resort is awesome We stayed in the Chinook building facing the mountains ask for this if you book rm 305 has 2 balconies to chill out on, and also the spa is amazing too.

The Solara Resort in Canmore was a great place to stay! We enjoyed our 2 bedroom condo with dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, kitchen appliances and fantastic shower in the main bathroom. The only complaint that we had was that the cleaning staff was very inconsistent. They obviously did not follow a checklist of items to leave in the room or things […] to check daily. One day the bed was half made, several days they did not replenish the coffee and tea, another day they forgot to leave clean towels. All that we expected each day was fresh towels, coffee and tea, and for the staff to make the beds. We did not care if any other cleaning was done. Our recommendation is for the cleaning staff to receive better training and to follow a daily checklist of things to do in each room. The location of the Solara is excellent - we stayed here for 7 nights and drove daily into Banff National Park and into Kootenay National Park and up to the Icefields Parkway. We loved our vacation in this area! The weather was great and the mountains are gorgeous! Lees meer

Great place to stay with small families. The indoor spray park, kids pool and hot tub were great for our 3 small kids (ages 5, 2 and 2). There was also a small playground which was great. We never did use the Kids Camps, but hear they were also wonderful with great activities for the kids. LOVED the spa....massage in the mountains....ahhh....:)

We stayed this weekend at the Solara , I think it is under rated in some reviews actually one of the best condo building in the are , modern and sleek. Clean and well organized ,, would rather to have a bigger pool in the facilities , however is perhaps asking too much , great movie theatre and friendly staff.

We had a pillow on our bed that was stained with bodily excrement. Also our sheets had "human" stains on them. Yuck. The layout of the hotel is ridiculous. You actually have to walk out through the parkade to get to the main lobby where the pool is and it's freezing cold! I wouldn't stay here again. The Solara is a beautiful place, very classy, quiet, and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. Our only problem was the reliability of the wireless service. I am from Texas and left my cell phone at home, counting on using the wireless to stay in touch with my husband. The first two days, we had wireless, but we were without for the last two days. This […] was my way of communicating with home ( my daughters also), so it was disappointing. It was explained to us that there were so many folks using it that it was unable to keep up. I liked it but we couldn't sleep well until 3:45 am .We had a couple upstair fighting all night,screaming and moving furniture. We had to call the reception desk at 2:00 am. The have the policy that after 11:00 pm they should be quiet but never happened. When I did my check out they just blame too much partying around. Very disapointed.

This is a nice hotel for those looking to get away and enjoy the spa and surrounding area. THis hotel is not for famlies with small children. It was a little deceiving in their description. There was a tiny little wading pool that was out of service so the kids could not swim but there was a spray area, but the fun only lased for a few minutes. They […] have a kids room, but its just a room with some crayons and paper. Nothing for young kids to do. Also they gave us a room right next to the parkade on the main level so the door to the parkade would literally bang every 10 minutes. You heard every person coming and going. Also because we were on the bottom level, there was a small patio that was not fenced in with no patio furniture or BBQ. Also the floors are cork and for some reason they make your feet black. We were constantly washing our feet. It is however a nice hotel, the condos are very nice and the only plus was the bathtub, large soaker tub that stays hot forever. I have stayed at Solara 3 times over the last couple of years. On my last visit, there was a noticeable drop in the service attitude of the staff. Also, a few of the appliances in the guest room were damaged from use and needed to be replaced. Solara is a great facility, I hope management addresses the ongoing maintenance issues.

Upon checking in, had to compete with irate customer whose room wasn't ready when promised, her second time back after being sent away. They told us they were short staffed and this was a big check-out day. Diffulty finding luggage carts, but the next morning saw the maintenance people using one to spread ice-melter on sidewalks . . . no equipment of […] their own, I guess. Opening the bathroom door it looked like someone had dropped a bottle of soap/shampoo on the floor. Substance stil thee but had dried, some shares of glass still there. After hearing what we did in the lobby, we washed all of the floors. Everything else was great, beautiful place pet friendly,what staff they did have were kind, but clearly overworked. Lees meer
