The Jewel facing Rockefeller Center ligt in het centrum van New York, op een paar meter afstand van Museum of Television and Radio, Rockefeller Center en Kathedraal St. Patrick's. In de buurt bevinden zich ook Broadway en Station Grand Central Terminal.

Goed hotel met superlocatie. Kregen gratis een update naar een gerenoveerde kamer met 2 bedden. Qua kwaliteit en prijs verhouding kan je niet beter zitten.Wij zouden er zeker terug komen, je bent er alleen maar om te slapen. En waar iedereen over schrijft dat de verwarmingspijpen verroest zijn boeit ons echt niet. Personeel was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam.Locatie om de hoek van Times Square.

Het verblijf in het hotel was zeer aangenaam. De kamer was op de 18de verdieping en lag aan een rustige straat. Hierdoor hadden we nauwelijks last van verkeersgeluiden. De kamer was lekker ruim en het straalde rust en luxe uit. De turn-over service is echt geweldig. Bij terugkomst op je kamer is je bed netjes opgemaakt, de gordijnen dicht en de verlichting brand romantisch. Ook staat er een relaxed rustig jazz muziekje op. We hadden een bad met uitzicht op het empire state building. Helaas was het zwembad met de bad nog niet open. De Spa zag er overigens schoon en heel erg lux uit. Guest service en maintenance lossen problemen snel en goed op (verstopt toilett). De doorman / belman service is ook erg prettig. De mensen hadden leuke tips, regelde heel vlot taxi's en passen prima op je bagage of zorgen dat deze naar de kamer gebracht wordt. Wat ik jammer vind aan dit hotel is dat alle extra diensten heel erg kostbaar zijn. Wifi op de kamer moet eigenlijk een gratis dienst zijn. In de lobby was Wifi 2 uur gratis en als je dicht bij het raam gaat zitten heb je de wifi van de starbucks aan de overkant. Ook een ontbijt op de kamer is erg kostbaar maar wel een onvergetelijke ervaring. Het Hotel staat in de omgeving SoHo. SoHo heeft gelukkig voldoende leuke restaurantjes en ontbijt gelegenheden in de buurt.

Nieuw, proper, fantastisch centraal gelegen hotel. Kamers niet al te groot maar heel praktisch ingericht, genoeg berguimte, microgolf, koffiezet en koelkast aanwezig. (wij hadden een superior room) Wij hadden een kamer aan de voorzijde (5de verdieping) , ik heb oordoppen moeten kopen om te kunnen slapen, mijn dochter sliep als een roos door alle lawaai […] heen. Maar het is New York, dus helemaal stil kan het nooit zijn. Ik zou bij een volgend verblijf toch een kamer aan de achterkant vragen, je bent in New York toch maar op je kamer om te slapen; als je zicht wil ga je Rockefeller naar boven... In de buurt voldoende eetgelegenheden, ontbijt kan meegenomen worden op de kamer. Geen restaurant in het hotel, maar je kan even verderop in de straat bij het zusterhotel gaan eten, deden we eenmaal 's middags en konden zalig in het zonnetje eten, was wel in orde. (opgelet na 14 u zit de zon achter de hoge gebouwen) Ze werken ook samen met een aantal restaurants die leveren in het hotel, wij bestelden eenmaal sushi ; is geen aanrader. Enig minpunt van belang vond ik het satijnen/zijden donsovertrek. Dit gleed constant van het bed af. Het was ook een heel breed maar iets korter bed. Ik ben 1.73 m en lag bijna met de voeten uit bed, ik denk dat dit voor heel lange mensen van belang kan zijn. Voor de rest een prima, super gelegen hotel met heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel, tegen een aanvaardbare prijs. Lees meer

Niet nadenken. Dit hotel boeken. Beter kun je niet zitten. Helemaal nieuw, superbetaalbaar, superluxe kamers, toplocatie. Kan niet beter.

Ligging van hotel is perfect en 1 block (zowel richting oost als west) verwijderd van bijna alle metrolijnen. Vanuit JFK heeft men geen overstap! Gratis wifi op kamer en bij restaurant zijn 3 PC's (incl printer) waarvan men gebruik kan maken om bv boarding pass te printen. Gratis flesjes water beschikbaar op de gang. Kamers zijn modern ingericht en […] de foto's op de site kloppen daadwerkelijk! Op 7e etage ligt restaurant met dakterras en uitzicht op 5th Ave en Radio City Music Hall. Ontbijtbuffet is eenvoudig maar goed en betaalbaar. Ik heb de afgelopen jaren in meerdere hotels in NY geslapen en dit is de beste tot nu toe. Lees meer
"Uitstekend hotel"
Ligging, kwaliteit en service prima in orde. Enige minpunt was dat de gereserveerde (grotere) kamer niet beschikbaar was bij aankomst, maar pas de volgende dag. Een beetje slordig voor een dergelijk hotel. Personeel was wel uitermate behulpzaam.

"Efficient layout of tiny sliver of a room"
Overall we enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and efficiently laid out. Plenty of outlets for our chargers. Nice bathroom that was clean and adequately stocked with towels for three of us. Our teen son wasn't too comfortable, though, on the "chair bed" (a chair that pulls out to a twin sized bed) because of its very thin mattress. We didn't see the blanket […] and pillow until the morning, when we were closing the bed. They were stuffed into the big arm rest of the chair. Instructions would have been useful. I had requested a king bed with a rollaway, but got a queen with chair bed. Note, when the chair bed was opened, there were only about 8 inches of clearance. Coffee maker is nice to have, but the carafe dripped coffee all over the place when pouring. Also, I don't think the room had a safe, if that is important to you. We checked luggage, which was retrieved fairly promptly when requested. The young woman at the desk arranged for a car to Newark, however, she told us the wrong info regarding the fare. She said it included tolls, which was disputed by the driver. We didn't have time to argue, and ended up paying the two expensive tolls. Check out was quick. Lees meer

Recommend highly except the bed and bedding were not comfortable. Upgrade on this would be welcome and don't use slippery fabric on your quilts - they don't stay on the bed.

I can't say enough positive things about this property! The location is wonderful, the property is spotless, the room was wonderful and the amenities were well above what we expected! Computers and printers on the second floor, happy hour next door in a wonderful bar with a fireplace and a terrace, free water bottles and filtered water in the hallway, […] balcony overlooking Rockefeller Center...I've already recommended it to a friend who is in NYC on a regular basis. "The Jewel in NYC - in the heart oif Manhatten"
The jewel was convenient to everything. walk out the door and there is Rockefeller Center.. 2 blocks North is the MOMA Radio City Music hall is down on the corner. Close to all the best shopping and a 5 minute walk to Broadway The N,Q,R trains and the 1 train are all 2-5 minutes from the door. I plan on staying here anytime I am in the city....
I was in NY City for minor surgery and i stayed at the jewel. The staff was fantastic. Anything i asked for they helped me. They were all pleasant, and kind. I will go back and stay there when i can get out and enjoy the city. And i have already told many friends about it...

It was in a great location in walking distance to almost everything ! Only thing I thought was that it was a little overpriced but I needed a hotel for my fiances birthday
Great location across from Rock Center and off 5th Avenue. Very close proximity to the subway and bus lines. I was very pleasantly surprised by the size of the suite and amenities. It was more like a small Japanese styled apartment than it was a hotel. I would definitely visit again and highly recommend.

This was a great find. The location is superb - no restaurant or bar on site, but there are many options within a block or so. The room is efficent, but doesn't lack any amenity. The bathroom is well appointed (marble, etc.). It will be my hotel of choice in NYC,

The Hotel is in a great location, rooms are clean. They did not have valet parking and We have to park the car ourselves 5 blocks away and walk back. If you are on a budget it's a great choice. If you are staying for more than a couple of days. I will go to a Hotel with bigger rooms.

Dont be afraid of this small room. It is perfectly designed with green and energy efficient amenities and although compact, is super cozy. I had a room with balcony and corner windows. I could have lived there for months. It was also incredibly quiet and I stay at many nice hotels in the city for biz that aren't half as personal and quiet. Price is […] totally worth it. It's a cute place, room is well designed. great location if you need midtown/5th ave and don't care for times square. Prices are fair with great deals periodically, Amenities are excellent: coffee machine, Ethernet and WiFi work properly, Bed is comfy, shower is hot, iphone/ipad dock by the bed, light switches are well placed, tv is good resolution, […] extra cables on desk if you need them. We stayed at The Jewel for a weekend to celebrate a milestone birthday. The location and accomodations were exactly what we wanted. The room was small but very efficiently organized -- making the best use of the available space. The staff had good advice, and we really appreciated the cold filtered water. Good location and clean room. Given NYC hotels' reputation of beg bugs, I was really glad that my bed in the Jewel was bug free.

I stayed with my husband for the weekend in NY. We really like it, the room was clean and quiet. Check-in and check-out were very easy. I would probably stay over here during my next trip to NY.

If you are looking for a little room without lots of amenities then this is the place! Short walk to Time Square and the Theatre District. The rooms are small but very nice, everything is very clean. The beds are just ok as far as comfort.

Reasonable, comfortable, and the smallest room has everything you would need for a night in NYC. You will not find a better hotel at a more reasonable price. We stayed here on a Saturday evening after seeing the daytime showing of "Wicked" at the Gershwin theater. The theater is a roughly a 4 block short walk (as are a lot of the other theaters on Broadway). […] The ice rink at Rockefeller Center is right accross the street. We couldn't have been happier. Our room dind't have a view of St. Patricks or Rock Center but that only meant: a nice, quiet nights sleep as our room did not face 51st street. -Which incidentally is not super busy late at night anyway so I am certain we would have been fine on the main road too. We were very happy with the customer service as well. We forgot our toothpaste and toothbrush. We also requested a cot as my wife had a firend pop in to visit from Brooklyn who decided to stay with us. The front desk brought all of the items up in a minute flat. The room was just big enough to fit the cot as well with a little wiggle room for bathroom runs at night. Anyway: highly recommend the Jewel. Lees meer

Next to Rockefeller and 5th Av so location is great. Limited services at the hotel, but at least 2 bedroom apartment has kitchenette enough to take care of your breakfast. Clean, quiet, beds good without bugs, friendly and quick service. Go for it!

The hotel was very well represented on the website. Though the rooms were not large, but they were organized well, designed well, and seemed recently done. The location is very convenient, with subway connections to all the major subways nearby. A good value and would definitely visit again.

The Jewel is a good find for those wanting to stay mid-town. It is a small European-feeling hotel. Amenities are just OK and there isn't much of a lobby or even a restaurant attached - it is a solid 3 star that is really kind of super. The rooms are large enough, it has a clean, modern feel, Wi-Fi is free, the staff is knowledgeable, the price is right, […] the location is right across from Rockefella center, there is a fridge and microwave in the room and a coffee maker. I'd definitely stay there again. If you are looking for cool and ultra hip, this is not the hotel for you. If you appreciate clean design (think Ikea but a little nicer), big-ish rooms, nice staff and free Wi-Fi, book here. Lees meer
