Miner's Motel in Jamestown

Omdat er geen hotel dichter bij Yosemite NP was hebben we dit hotel geboekt. Je kunt er slapen, dat is het belangrijkste. Maar de voorzieningen in de kamers zijn zwaar achterhaald: Als wij de magnetron wilden gebruiken moest de lamp en de TV uit, anders trok de stop het niet. De TV functioneerde, maar kwam uit de tijd dat de Kleuren tv net was geïntroduceerd. […] Het houtwerk buiten had al heel lang geen verf meer geroken. En om alle lampenkapjes zat plastic. I suggest you find a motel 6. At least it would be 10 times better. The room (310) smell like an ashtray. It got worse when the heater was turned on. When you entered the bathroom it smelled like someone had just put out their cigarette. It was labeled non-smoking. When? When we arrived? The sheets had hairs and little black things inside. The bed was very comfortable. Since I was just staying there for one night because I needed a place to stay on a road trip, I felt that it was a great deal for the price. I would stay there again.

The room was spacious enough to include a roll away. Unfortunately, we were short on towels for the number of people staying in the room.(2 adults and 2 adult children). Since we checked late on Christmas day, it was too late to ask for more towels. It was fine. No problems. Friendly staff and close to where we needed to be. Reasonably priced. Dog friendly.

The Motel is a little rustic with a feel of the old days but with the amenities of today. I truly liked the place and it's location. I will stay there again.

Old Motel (not hotel), but clean and tidy. Did not cost much, and for the price it is a good place to spend a night.

Very nice owner and hate to say the hotel was dreadful, but it is so old and outdated, almost unbelievable, going back to the sixties here but without the romance ;-) As said, the owner was trying to do his best and was super friendly!!

Very reasonable rate for the area in the height of summer season. Bed was Ok in comfort...our TV was fuzzy on the Olympics channel....but convenient to a lot of attractions in the area. Owners were very nice and provided service when asked for, but a lot had to be asked for....ie - bathmat - enough towels. Our TV was old and didn't get good reception […] on NBC during the Olympics...our neighbors had great reception so know room 312 had a lesser TV set. Lees meer

Decent place for stay if you don't mind the far drive to Yosemite. It was nice that we could bring our dogs, but it was very pricy to keep them for two nights. Overall, the bed was very comfortable, and place was quiet. No breakfast though and food are relatively far.

Some of the decor is dated, but the rooms were clean and staff helpful. Pool good, especially as it was v hot and we had kids with us.

Jamestown was a great little place to visit, a real gold-rush mining town. The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

The manager helped a lot with our boat parking needs and safety of equipment, the rooms were clean and quite. A nice little place to relax.

Out dated Motel and rooms. Old bathroom needs updating. Room was small. Room was clean and good cable. OK for just a one night stay and back on the road again.

The outside was not fancy but I have to say that the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, shower was hot and had good pressure and the walls are cinder block so you really don't have to worry about sound coming thru walls. our recent visit after others left us surprised that the chairs were dirty, and coming apart at handles,,, the water in shower really never was hot no matter the time of shower except first thing in the morning. we have visited many times in the past.... would suggest some additional outlets for the appliances. it is quiet even though it is right next […] to the highway. these problems are new to the hotel, maybe due to lack of maintance or not seeing the issues Lees meer

Not especially remarcable - nice pool but didn't try it and big picnik area right near the rooms, room was ok, no breakfast, prices a little big but probably because of Yosemite's proximity . Recommended as a stop over but not very practical as a base for visiting Yosemite park.

We stayed here after whitewater rafting at the American River and before setting out for Yosemite. It's a convenient stop point between those attractions. The restaurants and township of Jamestown are a little bit down the freeway, but not too far. It took a bit over an hour to get to Yosemite, nearly 2 hours if you're aiming for Yosemite Valley, the […] central village in the National Park. There are hotels closer to Yosemite if you're looking for an early launch, but they do get to be more expensive the closer you get. The room was comfortable - we had a fridge, coffee machine and coffee supplied. Wifi is free and worked fine during our stay. Bathroom not fancy, but it was clean and serviceable. Lees meer

The motel was really old. It definately needed some painting inside and out. The front door did now close very well and the bathroom needed repairs. The beds felt like they were 20 + years old. It was really old and rustic inside and very dark. No room for 2 people to get ready in and no enough plugs. We had to unplug things to use our hair dryers. […] The ice machine hardly would work and was out of order within 24 hours of our arrival, so we had to go in town to purchase more. Lees meer

We had a nice stay at this hotel, it was very quiet. The hotel was full and we would have never known. Never heard a peep from our neighbors. Very nice for a change. We stayed here so that we could attend a concert in Murphy s. This was quite a drive from the venue but it was a last minute decision to stay rather than drive home. Obviously a much better […] option. The room could use some updating, this was the first hotel I have stayed in that had one of the old wooden style televisions. Probably would save some electricity to update it to a new one. But I guess you don't need to fix what isn't broken! Oh and the pink flowered sheets and the pink toilet were... cute, definitely another first for me. But overall it was a comfortable quiet place to sleep. Although they advertise with a close to Yosemite NP location, it's over 70 miles, which takes almost 2 hours. Also the hotel could use some renovations. The wifi does only work when you're close to the office and I mean under their window. The customer service we got was not very good.
