Het hotel is oke op de stofnesten onder het bed na. De etensmogelijkheden (naast het hotel) zijn minder, eigenlijk alleen maar fastfood. Als je daar niet van houdt, is dat niet prettig. Het dichtstnabijgelegen restaurant is ver weg en in het donker niet te vinden, daar je allemaal kleine binnenweggetjes afmoet naar Hungerford. De omgeving is echter prachtig. TomTom kent Membury niet. Het ligt aan de A4 en niet in Hungerford.

De inrichting van het hotel is zeer out-dated, ook het hotel zelf is zeker oudbollig te noemen. Wij vonden dat echter ook wel weer charme hebben: de wirwar van gangetjes en trappetjes, de kinderen konden echt op ontdekkingstocht. Het zwembad was voor hen ook prima. Hier was ook nog een verlaten sqaush baan - likje verf zou niet misstaan, maar het was er wel en mocht gebruikt. Zelf zou ik hier niet drie week verblijven, maar even een nachtje was helemaal goed.

We only stayed for 1 night, but as we are fond of period houses/ character features this B&B was fantastic. Gorgeous house with all the mod coms, large and clean bedroom, very clean bathroom, lovely English breakfast.

Prachtig landgoed, eigen slachterij, heel veel ruimte en groen om het hotel, zee van rust, rustieke sfeer, perfectie prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding. Zeer vriendelijke bejegening.

I came late and the place was locked despite my advanced noticed that I will arrive late. I will beaten by rain outside for hours. No security man or receptionist was seen there! I travelled for over 12 hours only to meet this kind of treatment.
Room was clean, but the location is busy and noisy because of the pub downstairs. Not much room comforts. Morning breakfast was amazing.

We had a wonderful time. The room was more comfortable than we expected - amazing bathtub (with jets), HOT water, large clean bathroom, window view of the river ("superior" room was requested), bed more much more comfortable than it looked, free internet worked great, tv included cable stations, and there was a tea kettle and yummy cookies in room. […] Geese and swans on the river called out regularly, which we enjoyed. Staff was friendly and went out of their way to accomodate us - carrying bags, getting extra cookies, letting our friends into the pub downstairs before opening hours etc. What could have been better.... I was confused about breakfast (only saw cereal and juice - was there more?), adjacent rooms were being refurbished so banging began at 10 am and lasted for hours. No notice was provided this would be done. So, lucky I was up and my teenager didn't care. I'm sure they will be even better though as a result of the upgrades they were doing. Also, when the front desk called us a cab the first time it never arrived. We walked instead - so no big deal. Later another cab was ordered and it left while we were coming down to catch it. SO - make sure you get a cab phone number and I'd recommend calling your own if it's critical. (In our case, to catch a train back to London they had to call a second cab - we made it with 2 mins. to spare). Oh, and a mini fridge would have made it extra great. There is no ice machine or anything - but there IS a small grocery a brief walk away that's open till 11 pm. All in all we will stay there again if we go back to Oxford. We enjoyed it a lot! Okay first of all, when you get there see Ben, totally helpful gentleman. 3 slight issues all of which were perfectly handled by Ben. 1. Heating didn't work. They bought me a portable, brilliant. 2. Shower packed in, not there fault one minute it worked next minute it wasn't, once again, they gave me a key to use for 3 days to another room, which was […] way nicer than mine but I liked my room so stayed in it, 3. "Perfect for walkers"
Short walk into downtown Oxford and a large woodsy walking trail in the rear of the inn that connects with colleges and the town. Everything you need is at the hotel. Cozy bar, dining room with great views of the river and a very helpful staff. My wife and I will make this our home again when we visit Oxford.

The hotel was within easy walking distance from downtown area, while offering a delightful ambiance for just hanging out at the first floor pub, where we had a great lunch. "Hotel needs remedial work Good location"
Our room was OK except that the shower caulking was black from mould, the bathroom extract fan didn't work and the curtains in the bedroom barely covered the window and did not black out the room at night. As compensation, the staff were very friendly and helpful

I really enjoyed my stay here, I was alone and on business but felt very well looked after. I don't usually bother writing reviews but I just have to mention the food at this place! Having chosen from a very ordinary looking menu the fantastically presented and perfectly cooked food was just an absolute delight! Cannot recommend this highly enough!

We stayed for one night and found the satff to be extremely pleasant and went out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast was excellent and overall superb value for money in a beautiful setting on the river.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was great, with a nice view over the Thames, it was really clean and the breakfast in the morning was perfect. My only annoyance was the car parking. It did say free parking was available, however when I arrived, the barrier to what I presume was the car park was shut and there was nowhere to pull in to check […] where to park. I tried calling a couple of times to clarify, but nobody was able to answer so I had to park in another car park a few mins away. Lees meer
"Hyggelig og nær sentrum"
Koselig og særpreget gammel pub ved elven, 5-10 min.å gå til sentrum.Ved park/naturområde. Like ved det største universitetet. Fine, nyopppussede rom i 2.etasje, rent og flott, meget bra bad. Hyggelig betjening. God frokost med flere valgmuligheter, middagsservering til kl.21.

Relativt sentralt, men viktigst av alt: Uteserveringen er nydelig! Dette hotellet hadde jeg booket neste gang også.

Se trata de un típico pub inglés que ha habilitado habitaciones para ofrecer servicio de hotel. NO es un hotel. Le recepción está en el mostrador donde se sirven las bebidas; no hay ascensor; no hay personal para ayudar con el equipaje (y para subir y bajar las maletas al segundo piso eso es un problema serio); las escaleras son estrechas e incómodas; […] la habitación es estrecha e incómoda; la cama es un vejestorio; no hay mobiliario adecuado, etc. Definitivamente, la relación costo-beneficio es inaceptable. "Oxfordの中心地から少し離れている"
１５分くらいですが、オックスフォードの中心地まで歩きます。食事をしたり買い物をしたりが、いちいち歩いたり荷物を運んだりするのが、少々面倒です。ホテル自体は快適で静かに過ごすことが出来ました。朝食が出てくるのが遅いので、朝は十分時間を取ってゆっくりと食べる時間を用意しましょう。

川沿いの景色のいい便利なホテルでありますが、夜上の部屋からけたたましい音とともに大量の水漏れが発生しました。スタッフを呼ぶもなかなか現れず、随分待った上オーと言っただけで、何もしてくれませんでした。大学のオープンデイの時期だったので、代わりの部屋もありませんでした。 次ぎの日チェックアウト時、マネージャーは、何もその事を知らず、私が、伝達して置くべき事だと言ったが、あいまいな受け答えだった。お勧めはできません。

Hotellet ligger sjarmenrede til ved elven. Det er kort vei fra hotellet til serverdigheter og gågater i Oxford. Byen har mye å by på av severdigheter. Anbefaler byen for de som er historieinteresserte. Hotellet har grei standard, men egner seg ikke for bevegelseshemede. Lange bratte trapper inne på hotellet, og smale korridorer.
