Mercure Krabi Deevana in Krabi

Nice new resort but located a bit far from main strip of Ao nang and Nopparat thara beach. Walkable to either beach within 5 minutes or so. Best rooms are pool access rooms to my opinion. Advise, rent a bike if you do not like walking. Staffs are friendly and welcoming.

Just had a great stay at Mercure Krabi. I requested on hotels.com for a high floor quiet room but was given a ground floor pool-access room. Turned out to be a good thing as it's pretty low season so the pool was empty a lot of the time we were around. No problem with privacy as the glass door that opens into the balcony and pool is tinted with dark […] glass so during the day, it's almost impossible to see into the room if the lights are not on (and they don't have to be because it's so bright anyway) even with the curtains open. The same glass door also does very well to block out noise. Walking straight from your room into the pool is great! We spent a lot more time outside because of this convenience. Sure it's not a lap pool, but if there aren't many people in it, you can get a decent workout swimming from one end to the other. Gym was excellent, well furnished and new. Happy hour was great. 50% off all drinks for 3-4 hours every day (very very cheap). As other reviewers mentioned, food was expensive but there are cheaper options 3-5 minute walk down the road. Also close by outside the hotel are mini markets, massage places (decent), a money changer and taxi services. Service was good, no complaints there. Other minor not so nice things (besides the expensive food) - more bugs and snails than other hotels but nothing seriously bad; could also do with more bath gel and more English books/magazines in their little library. Best hotell i've been to. Tho they could make the breakfast include (it is expensive in thai terms tho still worth it!) price 400 thai bath

This a very impressive hotel for the overall cost. We stayed march 12 and at the time of our stay the hotel was only 5months old. The hotel is very modern and very stylish and well suited to couples or familys. There are better located hotels in Aonang but the Mercure is still in a good position. We didnt use a Taxi during our 10 day stay as the town […] is only a very short walk. There are also a number of convenience shops on the hotel doorstep.The hotel also offers a free shuttle bus service to a convenient town dropoff point. We were greeted in the reception with a glass of wine on arrival and were seated while they took care of all the paperwork. The staff are very friendly and cannot help enough. The hotel is extremely well priced, although Food and drinks here are not. This is probably one of the only negatives....We had a room only booking and we hardly used the restaurant as restaurants in town within a short stroll are a fraction of the cost. Breakfast is good but cost 400baht per person which is approx £8-9 which is expensive for this area. A full English in town is 120-170baht...quite a saving. We were also charged £8 for 2 ice creams at the pool bar!!! Overall this is a well price hotel which ticks all the boxes but expect high priced food and drink. I would stay here again although would consider other hotels located more central to Aonang High Street. Lees meer

Everything was great. Staff was very hospitable and helpful. We manage to book all our tours and trasfers from the hotel. Room was and exceeded my expectations. It is definitely a hotel to be recommended.

Very nice new room. Short walk to downtown (20 minutes).

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our only advice would be the selection in the buffets. The Saturday night seafood buffet is average at best. Other than that, the pools are fantastic, the happy hour (3 hours) is fantastic & the staff were exceptionally & try very hard.

I am really satisfied upon staying in this hotel! the hotel is absolutely gorgeous, especially the pool area. its worth staying at the pool side room because you can straightly go into the pool from your room! but alas, my room was on the fourth floor... maybe next time :) the staff are friendly and informative, the location is ok, although quite a […] distance to walk to ao nang town and beach, there's a tuk tuk stand nearby that can take you anywhere you want. the only thing that i am a bit dissapointed with the hotel was the breakfast spread, its pricey and there's not much offered. although you can opted to eat outside at the nearby cafe, mind you, the prices are quite expensive for a normal breakfast set. so my friends and i opted for room service instead because the portion is big and the price is similar to the cafe. a good deal indeed! overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel :) Lees meer

very comfortable and new hotel... everything is great but it is far to the beach.

Good location for those who do not wish to be extremely near to the main Ao-Nang strip. We enjoyed the serenity around the hotel. Hotel provides shuttle service to the main Ao-Nang beach & shops and it's only a 15-20 mins walk back to the resort. Definitely manageable. Room was new and clean. The pool area was nice and staff were friendly.

We stayed in the Mercure Krabi Deevana in late January 2012 and had a pleasant time. However, the hotel is located about a 15 minute walk from the beach. It's the type of hotel one would stay in if more interested in a resort-type experience within a nice hotel, but not necessarily on a beach. With a playroom and big children schwimmingpool, it is a great hotel to stay with children.

Great new hotel which is comfortable and clean and value for money.

We booked two rooms at this hotel for the end of our 2 week trip to Thailand. One was a room with direct access to the pool for our kids and the other was a suite (one of 4 in the hotel). Things didn't go great from the moment we arrived. It took over an hour to check us in. We think they actually forgot about us. We had to ask 3 different people before […] they figured out how to get us our two room keys. Then the rooms were located at opposite ends of the hotel. Not the end of the world, our kids didn't mind. They didn't want a king bed though. The staff haven't been trained properly and fail to complete working on one file with one guest before moving to another. This means they're terribly inefficient. When checking in, we noticed the manager was outside getting cool towels for other families checking in - if he'd been supervising the staff better though, the process would have been smoother for everyone - staff included. The hotel is almost brand new, but isn't being maintained. If not constantly taken care of in the heat, paint, mouldings, carpets, etc all deteriorate very quickly. This is happening. Room service doesn't pick up dirty dishes in the halls for days on end - watch out for local wildlife! The rooms also have design flaws - no telephone beside the bed, doors opening the wrong way, door handles need to be turned up instead of down to open and close, no lights in the hallways outside the rooms making it hard to see your own room number...The staff doesn't speak much English either. I speak fluent Thai as I lived in Thailand for 10 years, but it was sure hard for other guests - even when we checked out (a day early - despite knowing we wouldn't get any prepaid money back - we were that unhappy), there were 6 separate guests trying to check out at the same time - mass chaos. None of the staff could complete one at a time - they were all 'helping' each other. Guests were really frustrated and it was almost comical to watch. Just a gong show all around. Our Lees meer

The pool access room r big n definitely good for those intending to stay in the hotel to rest n relax.. For myself, we were out most of the time... So I thought a deluxe room shd be sufficient.. Nice new facilities... Jus a waste I didn't get to try their breakfast as my deal did nt come with breakfast ;( Overall gd experience.. Will go again!!!

Stayed in the hotel for four nights and would definitely recommend to friends and family. Rooms are obviously modern with it being a new build but are extremely comfortable and a really good size. Brand new hotel with everything you need. Clean and modern. No geckos :-) - not even on the walls outside at night time - don't know how they do this. Nice drinks at the pool at happy hour from 4-6 pm

I had an amazing four night stay at the hotel recently. I had initially booked one night online and when I got to the hotel and saw the place I decided to stay on for another night and ended up staying an extra three nights! The whole stay was fantastic from the luxurious rooms, the amazing buffet breakfast, the spa everything was just lovely. Relativt nytt hotell. Vi hadde rom inntil basseng, og tidvis kunne det være noe støy og mye plasking av vann på vår sitteplass. Aonang er ikke et sted for å benytte lokal badestrand, men mer et sted å oppholde seg for å reise ut til øyene. I april er det færre turister, og det er ikke like lett å ta en long tail båt sammen med andre. Vi måtte bestille […] egen båt, og det er dyrere. Rigtig flot hotel, der fremstår meget nyt. Værelser har generelt en høj standard og er meget rummelige, lækkert poolområde. Hotellet ligger lidt væk fra hovedgaden i Ao Nang, så forvent 15 min gang eller en tuk-tuk til det absolutte centrum. Morgenmaden er rigtig lækker, men noget pricy ift. thai standard. Nybyggt, fräscht hotell. Ligger en bit ifrån huvudgatan i Ao Nang, närmare Nopparat Thara Beach, men promenaden in till Ao Nang tar inte mer än 10 minuter. Möjlighet att ta tuk-tuk in till centrum finns också, hotellet erbjuder dessutom transfer med mini-buss efter tidtabell. Lugna omgivningar. Rymliga rum, välplanerade rum med ganska stor balkong. […] Väl fungerande luftkonditionering. Fint pool-område. Hotellet passar kanske bäst för dem som reser utan barn, det finns en grundare del i poolen men annars är hotellområdet ganska "stramt". Vänlig och tillmötesgående personal. Bra frukostbuffé, dock till ett ganska högt pris (om det inte ingår i rumskostnaden). Skulle definitivt tänka mig att bo här igen och har inga klagomål! Lees meer

Ett mycket bra hotell som vi vill rekommendera. Nytt och fräscht med alla bekvämligheter. En liten promenad från "centrum", men å andra sidan lugnt och skönt. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal, fin frukostbufé och bra restaurang för lunch och middag. Åker vi tillbaka till Ao Nang kommer vi att boka samma hotell.

Vi bodde 2 uker på Mercure i feb 2012, og hadde et flott opphold. Vi kom tidlig om morgenen og fikk sjekket inn med en gang. Rommet var stort og badet også. Servicen var upåklagelig, housekeeping kom innom 2 ganger daglig for å sjekke at alt var i orden. Sa vi ifra om noe, så var det ordnet i løpet av 5 min. Hotellet ligger i enden av gaten, litt utenfor […] sentrum av Ao Nang, stille og rolig, noe som passet oss bra. Vi syntes det var deilig å gå til sentrum og stranden, men det gikk shuttle buss fra hotellet og taxiene stod i kø utenfor. Det eneste minuset var frokosten, den var for dyr, 400 baht. Vi spiste på et chalet nede i gaten, der var det halv pris. Kan godt tenkes at vi kommer tilbake.... Lees meer

Viidestä hotellista paras! Huomaa kyllä että vasta valmistunut. Todella siisti ja kuitenkin hyvän hintainen. Ainut miinus siitä ettei aamiainen kuulunut hintaan ja olikin niin kallis että mielummin lähti aamupalalle toiselle hotellille/ravintolaan. Illallinen oli ihan ok, ei erityisen hyvää. Ett trevligt och välskött hotell. Man ska dock ha med i beräkningarna att frukost ej ingår men kan köpas för 400 bath (ca 100 SEK) per person och dag.

Riktigt bra hotell! jag och min pojkvän var där i 9 dagar och trivdes hur bra som helst. Jättefin pool, bra och stor restaurang, trevlig och hjälpsam personal. gångavstånd till små affärer och till stranden. fint, rent och mysigt hotell. Rekomenderas starkt!

Das Hotel ist noch sehr neuwertig und hat daher auch einen sehr guten Standard.Gratis Wifi Code bekommt man gleich beim einchecken und auch 2 Keycards damit man das Zimmer während der Abwesenheit gut klimatisieren kann.Wir kommen sicher wieder.In der Nähe ist gleich das Swiss Chalet,da kann man günstig sämtliche Ausflüge buchen,die Wäsche waschen lassen […] und gut essen. Hotellet var fräsht och hade jättebra och trevlig personal! Sängarna var otroligt sköna och det var alltid lika rent och fint på rummet efter städning. Fint och modernt inredda rum. En liten väg att gå till stranden men det fungerade ändå!

Som de flesta finare hotell ligger även detta en bit utanför huvudgatan i Ao Nang. Tuktuk-stop finns precis utanför hotellet och tar en till "centrala" Ao Nang på 5 minuter (10-15 min promenad). Första bemötandet var en besvikelse. En surmulen kvinna tog våra pass och försvann iväg. 10 minuter senare var hon tillbaka men tyvärr först då fick vi se […] ett leende på hennes läppar och ett "welcome". Mkt bra service och information följde - kan det berott på att vi hade bokat ett av deras större deluxerum? Överlag var vi mkt nöjda med hotellet och vårt deluxerum (pool access). vi var meget fornøyde med vårt opphold på hotellet. et delikat innredet hotell, med mange fine fasiliteter. behaglige senger og veldig bra frokost. litt begrenset engelsk kunnskap på betjeningen, men alt i alt var oppholdet vellykket

Superfint, modernt nybyggt hotell. Sängar som var helt underbart sköna. Enda Nackdelen att inte frukost ingår, som förövrigt var dyr att köpa till. Trådlöst internet som var gratis, men som tyvärr bara fungerade till och från (inte hela världen, men ändå). Promenad läge och gratis buss till "stan" om man inte orkar gå. Kanon ställe.

wir haben 5 nächte im Hotel Mercure Krabi verbracht. Das Hotel ist vor ca. 6 Monaten geöffnet worden. Die Einrichtungsgängenstände sind neu, das Bett ist riesing, ein Balkon ist vorhanden, das Badezimmer mit einer Durschkabine ist sehr modern. Ein großer toller Swimmingpool, sowie ein kleiner Fitnessraum sind auch vorhanden. Das Hotel liegt ein bishen […] (ca. 15min. zu Fuß) ausserhalb der Fussgängerzone Krabi. Man kann aber auch mit dem TukTuk zur Fussgängerzone um einen Euro (40 Bath) fahren. Wir waren im allgemeinen mit dem Hotel mit dem tollen Service sehr zufrieden. Lees meer
