Beoordeeld door een gast van Hotels.com op 27 feb, 2013Net hotel met behulpzame medewerkers. Onze kinderen sliepen op de uitgeklapte bank, maar dat ligt slecht. Je voelt de veren. Heb het gemeld en er werden direct extra dekbedden op gelegd om op te slapen en toen lag de bank beter. De locatie van het hotel is perfect. Maar let op de District en Circle line (ondergrondse bij het hotel) liggen er bijna elk weekend uit voor onderhoud. Erg lastig!! Verder een uitstekend hotel. Om bij terug te komen.

Some strange bits seem not to have been refurbished, like old doors and drafty windows, leaving the impression of an old dormitory, but in fact the bathroom and furnishings were new and clean. If they had really finished the job properly, it would have felt like a really fancy place. 4 person family room was huge, but the second bed wasn't really big enough for two kids. We used a cushion on the ground for one, which was fine. Very close to museums, which was lovely, and easy access 2 blocks from Gloucester Rd tube. Didn't try breakfast, given many nice cafes just down in gloucester rd, including pret and starbucks and some independent options.

Hoewel het hotel is qua locatie prima centraal, de metro vlakbij. De kamer was schoon, alleen vond ik de dekens op de bedden minder fijn. Al met al een prima kwaliteit/ prijs verhouden, je bent immers in deze stad weinig op je kamer.

Een prettig hotel, mooi gelegen, dichtbij gezellige, niet dure en wel heel lekkere eethuisjes en op loopafstand van Portobello road. Vlakbij metrostation Baywater en Queensway, de laatste heeft een verbinding met de circle, ook fijn, je bent overal zo! Het hotel was schoon en de kamers werden ook iedere dag schoongemaakt, zelfs de theezakjes werden elke dag aangevuld. Heerlijk om sávonds een kopje thee te kunnen drinken voor het slapengaan. Onze kamer was vrij klein, maar wel met hoog plafond, dus niet benauwd en met een ligbad. Het ontbijt was goed en het personeel vriendelijk. Kortom, voor herhaling vatbaar.

Stopped for 2 nights and from the minute we arrived the staff could not do enough for you, making us feel very welcome. The hotel is located 2 minutes walk from Southwark station (Zone1 on Tube) Easy to get to from Kings Cross. The first night we stayed was to attend the Theatre and this was only £10 in taxi or again you can use the tube which drops […] you on the Strand. The London Eye is only 1 stop away on the tube also. The bar area was excellent and very reasonably priced. Thomas on the bar was brilliant and very friendly and pizzas very good and reasonably priced. Overall I will defo stop again and cant speak highly enough of this hotel. The hotel is new and clean and rooms were very comfortable. Book in confidence you wont be disappointed. "OK but not great"
I found the room to be clean, but the towels looked very grubby and the white bedding wasn't as clean looking as I'd have liked. The room was small but well equipped and the bathroom was adequate. However I found it noisy; there was a constant hum from a generator or something similar and I was also kept awake by the plumbing system for the pod bathrooms. […] My partner and I discussed asking for a different room because of the noise issue, but when we returned to the hotel after a day out, we found that the hotel had lost its electricity supply and the place seemed to be in a state of confusion. We found that our room had no emergency light and to top things off, the water supply was off. After going out for dinner, we returned a couple of hours later to find that the problems were still ongoing. Whilst I recognise that this wasn't the hotel's fault, I did think that it was handled badly. The public toilets quickly became unpleasant to use and none of the taps were working. The bathroom in the room was difficult to use as there was no light whatsoever in there and again, there was no water supply. The hotel didn't offer us bottled water and we had to ask the restaurant if we could borrow a candle light. We were offered no apology for the inconvenience, no offer of a partial refund and there was no offer of finding us alternative accommodation. I wouldn't stay again. We stayed here on Saturday night (16 Feb).I chose this hotel first and foremost as it was really well situated. It ended up being even better than expected in this respect: waterloo is only minutes away on foot and the south bank is not much further. The price was also very reasonable given what we could pay for other hotels in the region. Staff were […] friendly and helpful, though we didn't have cause to interact with them much - main example wad that, when we asked about bag storage on the day if departure they offered to let us keep our room for free did pretty much as long as we wanted. There were a couple of negatives: one, we must have been very close to done water piping as I was woken a couple of times during the night by what sounded like a waterfall in the walls. The other flaw was the bed itself which was not especially comfy and, as seems to be the case in every hotel I stay in, we just couldn't get the temperature quite right. "Clean but cramped"
The hotel was in a decent location near the tube station and close to central London. It was generally clean but there were some things which let it down badly and we felt it was very overpriced for what you received. The pictures make it look like a boutique hotel but in reality the rooms are very cramped (my wife likened it to a prison cell), you […] get liquid soap which is always a bad sign, the bathroom was a "pod" (a single piece of plastic plumbed in obviously to save money and it showed) and the heating didn't work effectively (took 10 mins to come on and then turned itself off when it felt like it). The room was also so small, it got very stuffy in a short space of time with two people in. It was OK if you're not fussy but we won't be staying there again. Not enough irons and ironing boards, I requested one at check in, a further two times that evening and again twice the following morning. One was not to be found which meant I had to wear my previous days shirt for business meetings, the Aldgate Ibis has ironing rooms which works better. "Great hotel, staff and location"
This hotel is great. The building was very new and stylish and the rooms were comfortable and clean. The beds were comfy and it was nice and quiet. The staff were very helpful and even offered us late check-out for free (we were staying for one night and checking out on a Sunday so I don't know whether this was a factor in the fact it was free) which […] was great. "New - with it the ups and downs it brings"
PRO's: Hotel is brand new meaning everything is still nice and undamaged/undirtied by those hotel guests that think a hotel room is something that they can mess up. The lobby area is nice with a decent bar. CONS: In two of the rooms of our group, the heating was not working properly. And in January in London that can be a bit of a bother. No room service […] - they sell food from the restaurant, however nobody to bring it down. It is rather annoying to have to go down and pick up your own tray and take it back to the room.
