Holiday Inn Downtown Memphis

First the positive: this hotel is very clean, the grab-and-go offerings are available all day long and are varied and plentiful, and the people who staff the hotel are very kind. Also the location is very near to Beale Street and also to the Blue Plate Diner, just a five minute walk away, which offers one of the best breakfasts you'll ever find anywhere. As for the negative (and I hardly ever make negative remarks on reviews), there are four things to keep in mind, should you consider booking here. First, there was no microwave in our room, which is pretty unbelievable, considering the price we paid. Second, the mini-fridge is very tiny. Third, only half the shower has been built with a glass shield (there is no shower curtain), so be prepared to see a lot of water on the bathroom floor after you are done showering. However, if you open the bathroom door all the way, it touches the shower area, which helps to lessen the amount of water on the floor you'll be cleaning up afterwards. Fourth, and most egregious, is the wi-fi access. It's hard to get on, and when you do, you'll be thrown off ten to fifteen minutes later. Getting back on will take awhile. This will drive you mad. Don't be angry with the staff, though; it's not their fault, and they are very obliging. But my family and I will not be back.

Clean courteous good location to see downtown Memphis staff friendly

I booked my room through expedia but somehow got charged at the property as well which means I got charged twice. My room was freezing cold the heat did not work and the toilet still runs everytime you flush it.

It’s so hot in our room. Air is set to 67 and it’s 75. Hard to sleep. Carpet in room looks like it has blood stained on it. Visible wiring showing from the ceiling in the bathroom

Everything about our stay was perfect! especially the staff! They were very friendly!

Apparently, even though you book several days in a row (for your stay), at noon each day, this facility negates your room key requiring you to go to the front desk for the key card to be reconfigured. Each of the two mornings that we stayed, we had to go to the front desk because our key card stopped working at noon. Why?? It was not user error. Each time we had the key reconfigured, there were other guests in line to do the same thing. Corporate policy? I don’t know, just won’t be back.

The property was modern and the rooms were very spacious. However the linens were stained. and our bathroom ceiling had a terrible leak that flooded the floor. They did not have another king room available and i have not been comped on the price ( I have paid in full for this) yet.

They people were very friendly but they seemed unorganized. Sent us to an unmade room (looked like a rock star had stayed there) at first and then we came down and we were given a new room. The hairdryer was missing and the toilet wasn’t cleaned. Oversight I figure. They did take off the parking charge so that felt fair

We always stay in this hotel when in Memphis. The beds were so uncomfortable and squeaky this time. Every time you tried to move it would squeak, so hardly any sleeping. The front desk said mandatory mask, yet there was a lot of people not wearing them including the workers. I also booked a handicap room on accident. That being said the head of the shower kept falling so very hard to shower. Like I said we always stay here and will probably again. Hopefully it’s just a one time thing.
