Older hotel with lots of character built into the hillside overlooking St Thomas harbor. The views from our hotel room and the pool were spectacular. Jorge, the GM, was very accommodating on our second night's stay (we stayed 1 night, left for St John for a few days and then returned for another night) and offered us our choice of rooms. He also recommended places to eat, offered us a late check out on the day of our departure and overall aimed to meet our needs. While the hotel is within walking distance of restaurants and the downtown area, I would not recommend walking on the roads around the hotel as they have no sidewalks and the roads are very steep, narrow and have lots of blind curves.

The hotel is a marvelous property with an amazing view of Charlotte Amalie. The owner is awesome and will cater to all your needs as necessary, be it information or unexpected emergencies like getting locked out of your room because you left your keys in. The property is mostly well managed, the room is stocked with the necessary amenities including a bottle of hand sanitizer, and the small public space will have a coffee supply for the guests which is a great thing for coffee addicts. The hotel restaurant is currently not open, but nearby options are great and St. Thomas is dotted with great restaurants anyways so that should only be a minor concern. But even this minor concern should be nothing compared to the amazing view of the island.

Beautiful view but that’s about it. Pool looked nice but we didn’t have time to use it. Maybe a 2.5 star place. Nice staff.

Overall stay was pleasant. Staff were courteous and happy to change our room upon request for the spectacular view that this hillside hotel has to offer. The GM was especially helpful when we lost our key card on the last night. The hotel rooms a bit quirky (but in a good way) but lack amenities such as coffee makers, ice bucket and cups, and the like. Will definitely stay again. Oh! We're looking for a blue JBL waterproof speaker..lol

The view was amazing and the staff was above and beyond helpful!

Perfect place, view, and pool Clean areas nice people

The Mafolie Hotel was awesome. There is not a better view around anywhere. The rooms are nice and clean. We had a bunch of luggage and the manager helped us find another room at the hotel to store our gear. The General Manager was super helpful.

Jorge was great and very accommodating, considering all the restrictions due to COVID. Many of my travel companions stayed at the big resort areas but I was content with this rustic place which had amazing views and great service. Chilled and laid back, it felt like I was staying at relative or friend’s house. If quaint and historic aren’t your thing, stay elsewhere. Best to rent a car as this hotel is just a bit out of the way. Great local restaurant just up the hill and a short drive to the Waterfront. Bed was super comfortable as well!
