What "4-star" hotel doesn't provide any water!? When queried, I was told it was "because of covid". When pressed what that meant, they couldn't actually explain the reason. If you provide disposable shampoo, conditioner, soap, tea, coffee, etc. there's no reason not to provide water. Clearly just a blatant cost cutting measure. Would have thought the inquiry might have resulted in water being sent up to the room to solve the problem, but it didn't even seem to be contemplated.
Probably one of internally noisiest hotels I've ever experienced. Was questioning if the walls even existed at one point, you can hear literally every noise throughout the hotel. Every pipe, pump, footstep, door slam, next door's TV, conversation and snoring. Don't get me started on the air-con which kicks in periodically like a jet engine.
"King" bed was two beds pushed together, which is typical and not unusual, but there is also usually some sort of pillow topper to merge the two seperate beds as one. This was literally two beds pushed together with a joint sheet, meaning the middle was harsh and unusable and pretty much pointless as a king bed. Matresses are also typically old and saggy in the middle and well overdue for replacement.
The 2hr late checkout listed on my booking was apparenty "impossible" to be provided.
I imagine this was once a 4-star hotel, it has all the bones to tick the boxes, but the service and upkeep hasn't kept up with the times and it's no longer the case. Avoid.
