Unacceptable: I want a refund
The location is great, but the experience is so awful that it’s not worth it. Location: This fleabag motel (that’s what this is - it’s NOT an inn) is at the noisiest / busiest intersection of Carmel, near a bus stop, with no insulation from the windows. It’s a constant barrage of air brakes, garbage trucks and back up alarms. Room quality: In general, the property is incredibly run down. Stains on all the furniture and doors, crooked lamps, crooked windows, no AC, and a “barn door” on the bathroom that left such a noise gap that the toilet may as well be in the middle of the room. Listening to each other’s bathroom noises isn’t generally part of a romantic weekend. Add on the fact that the parking spaces are so small that I had to crawl into my car across the passengers seat and console to be able to back out of my parking spot...it’s a “never again” kind of experience.

Lovely little motel style hotel close to all shops and restaurants, short walk to ocean. Great breakfast. About to be re modelled - hope it doesn't get too pompous or over priced!

The good and the bad . . .
Arrived around 6 PM after a long drive to find NO parking despite advance multiple day reservations, prepaid. Was told to park on street where there is a mandatory 2 hour limit everywhere. Room & bath was small, old. Bed was comfortable . Breakfast adequate. Grounds need attention. Location good since you need to walk everywhere. (Sidewalks are very dark after sundown -- take flashlight. There was dog excrement on street sidewalk in front of inn that was not cleaned up over the several days we were there.) Staff was pleasant. Sign says it has new management.

They had a little trouble keeping up with filling the breakfast buffet. Walking distance to everything in Carmel. Be friendly staff.

Bed was not very comfortable. No fan/air conditioning so room was too warm. Close to town. staff was pleasant.
