The property is well decorated. But it was congested without any breathing space. The hospitality left something to be desired. My interaction with the staff made me feel like I am staying in a run off motel and not a 4 star property. The overall experience was just okay.

Ok for night stay
It's a boutique hotel but ok for night stay. As most of the time I was away for the meeting.

The breakfast buffet is good with a wide selection of fruit. The water is strong but it is quite slow to switch cold/ hot water. The staff is neatly dressed, the doorman is the most welcoming.

Excellent location, very quiet street. Traditional decor, attentive & courteous staff, nothing too much trouble. Personal service. Booked tours through the hotel which were good value for money. Would highly recommend this hotel over a large anonymous chain.

Umaid Bhawan excellent hotel
If you are wanting to stay at a hotel where the staff are friendly , helpful ,then this is perfect.
The hotel manager was brilliant , the food excellent
Ok so location !! But who cares all travel is by Tuk Tuk. Jaipur railway station is only 10 mins away.

Worse place worst service and the pictures shown on the site are very deceiving. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Pathetic service levels & misleading Staff.
I was put up in Jaipur at the JW Marriot Hotel in Kukas. Since it is outside the city, it has network issues and hence difficult for phones or text messages to get through. I was ment to check out from JW Marriot and check into Umaid Bhawan at around 2pm check in time. Due to flawed logistics, we got delayed and reached Umaid Bhavan at 4pm instead of the check in time.
i was travelling with my wife and my son (age: 20 mnths), and i had booked Umaid Bhawan as an extension to my stay in Jaipur to celebrate my Anniversary on 19 Jan.
On arrival, the person on the reception very crudely informed us that they were trying to call me/text me to confirm my arrival, but due to no response, they cancelled my reservation and let my Suite out to somebody else. Mind well that i had booked the best category room available in the hotel, and my secretary also called them to confirm our stay and inform them of us celebrating our anniversary with them, dated 10 Jan and they confirmed everything as per our booking (I am currently holding the call recording of the same).
For some reason, they let our room go, after which they requested us to stay in their "Staff apartment" which was 2 buildings away, which was in a dingy scary society with no security, services and luxury of a 4.5 star hotel.
On expressing my dissatisfaction to their reception staff, they showed us lowest category rooms, that were otherwise non-functional.
I walked out of the hotel, dissapointed and mislead :(

Where to start?.....What a fantastic hotel. Good food good service and the most amazing backdrop to this colourful colonial style hotel.
Highly recommended to all as a great place to stay in Jaipur.
Definitely on our list of places to visit when we are next in India.
