Grassmarket hotel

Top locatie, wel druk in uitgaans gebied dus als je wat meer rust zoekt is dit niet de locatie voor jou. Ik had pech met mijn kamer die tussen de lift en het traphuis in zat dus de hele verdieping kwam langs mijn kamer en naast de lift zitten is altijd lawaaierig. De kamer zelf was goed met goede faciliteiten, het personeel zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Dit hotel ligt heel centraal in het oude centrum en vlakbij de burcht. Wel veel trappetjes in het hotel. Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Leuk ingericht.

Heel erg gezellig hotel en de ligging was geweldig,overal dichtbij

€575 voor twee nachten voor tweepersonen zonder ontbijt in een kippenhok is veel te veel geld. Helaas op de fotos zie je niet hoe groot de kamer is. Receptie is een klein barretje.

Couldn't get a better location in Edinburgh if you want to be close to where everything is happening. Hotel itself is modestly nice with a personal touch. A few freebies which is always appreciated when traveling. Beds and bedding were great.

Unfortunately they didn’t say there wasn’t an elevator to all levels. They did advise me this was stated on Expedia and when I said I booked via Hotels.com they didn’t know what to say. My parents and my father struggled to get up and down the stairs and navigate the maze to even find the room! I am extremely annoyed and have screenshots showing this was not stated at all on this site and now I’m taking this further as it really put a toll on my father’s health. I am disappointed. I am seeking compensation as my father was so confused at one point and didn’t even find the room. I was so sad.

Pretty nice for the price. The location is especially great. Check-in was smooth and I found my room no problem. There was a system in place when I arrived that meant you'd use the elevator going up and the stairs going down, but the lift seemed to be broken after the first day. Not a massive problem but there's definitely not enough room to pass on the stairs, so be mindful of that. My main problem was the noise made by the air conditioning, which I understand may sound like a petty complaint, but as a Brit I'm not used to that clatter. I made the mistake of turning it off and coming back to a freezing cold room so I wouldn't recommend that. You can certainly appreciate that this hotel has been refurbished not too many years ago. The waterfall shower is a strong selling point and indeed very lovely. Though, I do doubt whether most customers would get any use out of the 30-pin iPod dock, and it seemed like my TV had been disconnected. Overall, not a bad stay, beats a hostel.

Time off of work and daughter on holiday with grandparents I decided to pop to Edinburgh to get away from it all on my own. The hotel was great, It is in such a great location that it is close to most touristy places you would want to go to. The room itself was on the small side but comfortable, and I loved the Dandy wallpaper! The TV was a bit temperamental which the staff did offer to have someone look at it for me, but it wasn't a massive issue as i watched tv on my tablet/phone. The staff were very friendly and lovely to talk to. With the windows closed you dont hear any of the noises from the road below, however the road can be a bit noisy at night with the windows open, with the binmen late at night and the bars emptying their empty glass bottles very early in the morning.... I would say that was the only drawback, however it wouldnt stop me from staying again. I will hopefully be returning in December with my daughter so cant wait to see you all again!

Great location, very tired looking, uncomfortable lumpy pillows. Very warm in the room, Air conditioning does not work which meant very hard to sleep. Would not recommend.

Hotel and staff were fantastic. The extra care taken to ensure guests safety during the Covid 19 pandemic was well thought out and information was conveyed to us prior to our arrival. Great central location directly onto the Grassmarket.
