The Kalorama Guest House

If you are looking for a budget place to stay in Washington DC I can recommend this place! Jack was very friendly and he made a nice breakfast ! The location is good for all places you want to visit like Monument , Zoo and most Consulate offices !

This place is conveniently located to the zoo, Adams Morgan, DuPont Circle, and Red line Metro stop, and is reasonably priced. I had a basement room, which was overheated, and the walls and doors were very thin—I could overhear the entire phone conversation of the guy in the next room. Also, the shower for the basement rooms had only just adequately warm water, not hot.

Jack, owner & concierge all in one, is a really great guy. Very caring & helpful. Location is superb—walking distance to Washington Zoo and Connecticut Avenue, main artery. I will stay there again when in DC, but won’t rent a car. Public transit + Lyft makes renting car silly. Parking very scarce in Kalorama.

Wonderful location, close to local shops & the Metro. The proprietor, Jack, prepares a breakfast that will keep you full all day. He goes out of his way to make his guests feel comfortable. Our room had a wonderful collection of books as well as a treasure trove of old "Life" magazines. We will return next time we visit DC.

A place to sleep since most hotels were sold-out. Minimal accommodations.
