The hotel is very clean, Pool area quite nice. You have no choice but to valet and they charge extra for that. They say call down ahead and your vehicle will be waiting but we did that and it wasn’t. In fact 4 valet guys see us standing there and didn’t ask if we were waiting for a vehicle. So I then initiated contact and they asked for my stub and located my keys and called a valet runner to go get it. They did apologize, saying they never received the message. Be careful when choosing a room. A partial gulf view with balcony sounds great except the description conveniently leaves out that the rest of the view is the rooftop of their restaurant and it’s rusty machinery that emits smoke vapor that smells like greasy food. So we could not sit on balcony without the stench and view of the roof obstructing the view of the gulf. But if you stand up, you could catch a glimpse of it. Front desk admitted that our 4th floor room was one of the least desired in the hotel. Apparently that’s what they give to hotels.com even though they don’t value a full disclosure in the description. Was also told at checking that beach loungers were included in stay first come first served. However they were $40 minimum per lounger extra when we went to the pool activities desk. Disappointed. They give you a glass of champagne at check in. Nice touch. Turndown service without asking. Sweet. breakfast buffet on the terrace was very relaxing. The poolside cafe not too impressive but great servers.
