Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa (SG Clean)

The room is looking dated and tired. Better cleaning & dusting would have made it ok

The room is a little dated and the service is less than responsive - calls are not responded to in a timely manner and I feel that the Amara Brand should strive to do better

I had a very good experience with staff and a comfortable stay.

Absolutely horrible. 2hrs late check-in and not the room we wanted with the jacuzzi, they tried giving us breakfast and late check-out but the room they upgraded us to was also terrible with aircon and fridge not working well, and they forgot 1 item off our food order as well. We checked out in 3hrs, never done that in my life, it was an anniversary celebration completely ruined.

The room is quite spacious but the maintenence is not so good. Tiles and walls seem blackened, and quite a number of bugs/insects in the room as the surrondings have greenery. The power of the Jacuzzi is also weak, so is not worth paying extra for a room with a private jacuzzi.

The hotel is not clean as advertised. The tea spoon. When we request for the extra bed when we check in, the receptionist told us the bed is big and asked us check the room first before request. After that, we still think we want a extra bed and request again via room phone. Then the receptionist told me last minute request and the bed is run out. Was very upset as my son is bigger now and when 3 of us sleep in a king size bed was very uncomfortable. Was basically cannot sleep well for the whole night.

Overall great service and environment. Enjoyed the rustic setting and the colonial building. Some areas need maintenance, like the pool decking.

I would not recommend staying in this hotel. Our checked-in was delayed until almost 6pm in the evening. And to our horror, the room was not properly clean as there was faecal stains on the toilet seat! It should Not be labelled as a SG CLEAN hotel. The compound and rooms were getting aged now. I believe they are short-handed, probably because of the lack of foresight on the surge in demand of staycations.

Because of the forested area surrounding the villa, i guess it cant help with the ants and mosquito situation. The resort could hv placed repellant to minimise it though. Also with the heavy rain, water started seeping through the bathrm area from the open bathtub. Housekeeping had to plce towels under the door to prevent rain water from cmg in.

We were allocated a room with serious sewage issues which was a complete turnoff because it stink the whole room. This is not something that I would expect out of a 5 star hotel. Then, the staff assigned us another room, which was not the same type of room that was given to us previously (2 single bed instead of king bed) We requested for king bed for our second night but the staff told us we had to check out then check in at a specific time which was a complete waste of time. With regard to the cleanliness of the room, there were water stains all over the sink, the tap kept splashing water all over the sink, and the tap kept moving every single time we used it, toilet couldn’t flush very well and tiles in the shower room had gaps. Also, we were not able to enter our room because our keys had problem. It was a far distance for us to walk back to the concierge (as we were allocated the room furthest) just to get it checked when we were already so tired and wanted a rest. The rooms were not very sound proof where we could even hear the wedding held outside in the pavilion. My expectations were high prior to my visit and I am thoroughly disappointed with my stay at Amara.
