Villa del Mar

My husband and I did a quick pivot to Turks & Caicos because we saw how seriously they were taking COVID-19 precautions, and Villa Del Mar deserves some big ups! Mask use was great, rooms were clean, and the staff was so friendly and quick to offer recommendations, book reservations, etc. We loved sitting by the pool and using the grills to make sausages (they are a little worn, but should be a quick fix). The rooms are spacious and the resort was peaceful. It's literally steps away from the beach and in walking distance of tons of awesome restaurants and excursions. Breakfast in the morning is simple, but we appreciated the fresh fruit. You really can't beat it for the price. I hope we can go back soon!

Right across the street from Grace Bay Club (with public access to the beach) and half the price. Short walk to Coco Bistro restaurant which is incredible. And great walks along Grace Bay beach. Villa del Mar also has chairs and umbrellas on the beach too. A great find to save some money and be close to everything right across the street from the beach. And walking distance to a gourmet grocery store and nearby shopping.

Positive : Great location , rooms are very clean and specious , good size pool . Private section at Grace Bay beach, beach is only few hundred feet away . Staff was nice and mostly accommodating . Hotel provides you with beach towels upon request. Negative : Breakfast was very basic : toast , cereal , banana bread , coffee/juce , apple and orange . Bananas weren't available every day (maybe due to hurricane few days before ), water was not available at breakfast . Coffee was horrible. ( Lady who served breakfast was extremally nice and accommodating (5 stars for her ) Had hard time getting clean towels on the day of arrival. Room had only 3 clean towels , we had 4 people . Had to request towels 3 times . A lot of mosquitoes on the balcony , I am not sure if property could do some treatment or not . To be fair , a lot of other places had misquotes on the island , so this might not be a property issue . Don't forget to bring mosquito spray :)

Definitely not worth the price. Location is close to the beach, not directly on it. There are no beach views if that's what you're looking for. They do not provide bottled water, the floor always felt sandy, they never gave us enough towels after cleaning, and this place charges an "extra person fee" per night. Never had that happen anywhere before. All in all, if you're looking for luxury, spend the extra money on one that says "on the beach." They do have their own section on the beach with towels and chairs and it was never too crowded.

The staff were very warm and helpful. We appreciated the breakfast that offered many options and was included in the price. 2 minute walk to the beach and 10 minute walk to Coco Bistro, which is a must!

Room size was good. My bedroom was missing a tv and a lamp. Armoir door did not close. Ac could not go lower than 72 degrees. I would appreciate a bottle water in bedroom for first night at least. Bldg Maintenance worker was pleasant when our front door handle fell off in my hands. By 4pm, Our maid did not clean room and was pushy to get in our door ,we just came back from morning,because she had to leave to go home. But we saw her sitting on stairs w her phone prior to our arrival . Overall good value.

Property was pretty and rooms were spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Online it said that a gym was an amenity but there wasn’t one. It would also be nice if they had some amenities at the beach like floaties etc. Also many people commented on how quiet the resort was however we got unlucky and the person in the room above us came home at 4 am most night and was so loud. No nighttime security to stop people from swimming and being loud late at night.

I liked the proximity to the beach, the included chairs and umbrellas. Staff was professional and friendly. The room was beautiful and clean.
