Hotel France d'Antin Opéra

Good location in general but that’s about it. Not 4 stars hotel. Maybe 2.5. On check in I asked why a deposit was needed, as this is not my usual experience, and was given flippant dismissive excuses that we might break a mirror or set the room on fire. They also said it covered the cost of using things in the room such as the mini bar (which actually was already paid for in the fee- you pay for the use of the room and everything in it?). Provided them credit card details but were given no receipt of this or reassurance that these details would be destroyed once we had left. The room was v. small, with bathroom separate to the toilet room (hygiene?). No shower curtain so using the shower = water everywhere. The fridge was stored in the wardrobe and was not stocked (so no mini bar that we had paid for). It also made the wardrobe so hot that our clothes were warm to the touch (& they had the gall to say *we* might cause a fire?). Had to leave the wardrobe open to try circulate some air and avoid a fire! The room was uncomfortably warm and gave us headaches. Air con was broken so couldn’t cool down. Opened windows to help but met with fume filled dirty air from smokers & scooters outside. Housekeeping was loud & slammed doors. Safe in wardrobe was not reset from previous users so could not reset as per instructions provided. Useless. On check out they didn’t even say thank you. Don’t waste your money here, go somewhere that cares about the comfort of its guests.

Excellent location! It’s safe, within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and metro.

I spent 2 nights at the hotel and loved it! The rooms are small but well appointed. The bed is comfortable. Loved the bathroom. I stayed in room 603 which was a corner room with 3 windows...lovely! This is a family-owned hotel. The owner checked me in when I arrived and was extremely helpful in regards to taxis, directions, things to do. I didn't realize she was the owned until the woman who checked me out told me. Her parents started the hotel and now she runs it. There is a continental breakfast for 15 euros and a bar for an evening drink. At every hour of the day, there is someone at the front desk who speaks English which I was expecting at a boutique hotel. Great neighborhood as well. I truly loved my experience.

Staffs were very kind and friendly. The room was too small. So convenient. Enjoyed very much.

Amazing staff and friendly service; all staff that I met were so kind, provided helpful tips and advice, and very welcoming. It’s in a wonderful location; I walked the whole trip (no public transit or taxis) and didn’t feel it was too strenuous. Lots of places to eat nearby and not too far from the main tourist attractions. The room was small; I traveled alone and the room was just big enough for me. Overall, a great visit! Would stay here again on another solo trip.
