Tufenkian Historic Yerevan Hotel

Nice place. Decent location. Breakfast could be improved. Rooms could use a decent scrub. Staff was very helpful and accommodating.

Couldn’t ask for a better experience.

The concierge service was not consistent. Opening doors for, and helping load and unload luggage should happen consistently at a hotel of this caliber, but it didn’t. The sheets were not changed as frequently as they are at other hotels I’ve stayed in. The hotel is in a central location and minutes away from lots of attractions, and great restaurants, parks, stores.

When we checked in our room was not ready so we got drinks at the bar. It was upsetting that after preparing one of our drinks they gave it to a larger group of Armenians who arrived after us. Then the next morning we wanted to go to a museum but got conflicting information as to whether it was open. The staff said it was open but I asked them to double check. They insisted it was open, but after getting there found it was closed on Wednesdays. They also pointed us to predatory taxi drivers who charged us about 10 times the proper fare. Apart from this the hotel is excellent, with a nice pool and excellent breakfast. But the staff needs to meet the standards of such a hotel.
