Alpine Park Riverside Cottages

What a hidden gem right on the river. We stayed here for a wedding just up the road and when we drove in I initially thought the cottages looked a bit old but was certainly not disappointed. The grounds are so shady and you can sit out the back by the river or swim. We booked a Mt Buffalo room which I have to say was one of the cleanest room I’ve stayed in anywhere in the world! The bed was fine, the pillows lovely and the little sink area had all we needed. Narelle (owner) offered and drove us to the wedding and picked us up to save us walking in our good gear, even though it was in walking distance so a lovely gesture. I noticed there is bike storage and the Rail Trail is on the opposite side of the road so only a short ride/drive to Porepunkah. If it wasn’t for the wedding we would not have stayed here as we only live an hour away but would definitely stay again.

The room lighting was superb! Excellent for reading, cooking, etc in room. The riverside location was great. Hot water was plentiful.

Stunning location on the river surrounded by beautiful trees. Our hosts were great communicators, incredibly generous and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay and the local area. Highly recommended.

Waking up to a riverside view was lovely and relaxing and a peaceful morning walk by the river just made our experience even better. Rooms are clean, warm (with heating) and provides you with all the basic things you need in the kitchenette. Owners are lovely and went above and beyond in making our stay a pleasurable one. Would definitely go back.

Very well maintained room. Room was very clean and customer service was excellent. Will definitely come back to this cottage again in the future.

Hosts Narelle & Steve are a friendly, helpful, couple who tried to ensure we had a lovely stay. We stayed in the Platypus studio suite, which is suited to a couple. Had everything we needed. Was in a terrific position, close to the ovens river in a lovely setting. Our room was in quieter part being further from the road. Cottages nearer main road would incur noise from traffic. From the park you can easily access other beautiful areas & nearby towns, villages, mountains and attractions of the high country and nearby valleys. Lots to do in this area and ideal for bike riders, walkers, foodies etc., a beautiful part of the world

Our booking was cancelled by the property owner saying it was over booked. Worst experience ever.

Lovely cabins and great location. Traffic was a bit noisy early morning. Not happy with a $10 charge to use my Mastercard to book, however this was not the fault of the hosts.
