Good and solid accomodation. Only difficulty was a small one...the internet was a bit glitchy at times, but the hotel may not have had control over that.
Initially we went early to have the hotel hold our bags. The young man behind the counter told me they don't do that. He started off not very friendly but when he realized that I was unhappy with his customer service he found us an available room. Do NOT go expecting them to store your luggage. I assumed they would, especially since they are a gateway town for Yellowstone. The breakfast was average (slim fit yogurt, muffin, cereal, milk, apple, coffee/ juice). I prefer to take what I want and not waste so much food. They should set up a cafeteria style breakfast where people can ask for what they want and the person that works there gets it. I only ended up eating 2 things and had to waste the rest. The shower backed up when using it, but in the U.S. I find that this is normal (gross but normal). The door next to our room kept slamming whenever someone walked through it. Made for difficult sleep. They should prop it open. It was also a little weird that the male housekeeper was not wearing a mask (on 2 different days/ 2 completely different occasions).
Clean room, great front desk service, and wonderfully smelling soap and shampoo
It was a so so hotel at resort pricing, but I think anywhere in West Yellowstone would have been the same. It was clean, very friendly, and comfy bedding.
Room is very nice and modernized. Front desk very helpful. Clean. Good mattresses. Just what we needed while hiking Yellowstone.
paid 300 dollars for one night and didnt get any kind of amenities and then stayed at 2 different places for the 1/3 the priceand got the best looking hotels and the service as if you paid 300 a night
Our stay in West Yellowstone was not as nice as we were hoping based on the price and the effort to get there. The motel is fine as a place to sleep, but was pretty old. The room was mostly comfortable, but it was easy to hear conversations and happenings in the parking lot. The front desk staff was mostly helpful, but one of the people showed more attitude than I care for. I asked where I could find something in town that we had forgotten to bring with us. Her answer was a terse, unfriendly: "I have no idea." Me: "Um, ok, do you live locally?" Front desk attendant: "No." In another exchange with a different front desk attendant, me: "My kids were really bummed the pool was closed. Is it possible to access the other Best Western's pool across the street?" Front desk attendant, in an unfriendly, condescending tone: "Definitely not!" It would have been nice to have known that the pool was closed before hand. On the flip-side, when we left something, they were helpful in getting it back to us. The breakfast was as good as it could be in this post-COVID age, with prepackaged foods and at least they didn't run out for the 4 mornings we were there. Also, the people serving breakfast were accommodating.
The AC did not work in our room. The bag breakfast was a big disappointment. There were no water glasses in the room. The front desk people were great.
Hotel is in a great location, near Yellowstone entrance. Rooms are of average size, but with small windows, there was almost no natural light. Our view was a picket fence and a cell phone tower.
If you are a light sleeper and/or are picky about beds, DO NOT BOOK. The walls and ceiling are paper thin. At 11pm I called the front desk and spoke with Spencer. The guest above me was stomping around non-stop and I was unable to fall asleep. This was with a white noise maker turned all the way up, noice cancelling head phones with the white noise maker on my phone all the way up, and the A/C unit fan running full speed. Spencer said he “would try to go ‘listen’ but said the upstairs rooms overlap” so he doesn't know which one. Needless to say at 2:15am there was still banging around. The bed had some type of crunchy, hypoallergenic cover that made the bed extremely hot and uncomfortable. If you are not used to this type of cover, I would steer clear. Outside of that, most of the plugs were so old that plugs wouldn’t stay in. TV couldn’t connect to get a clear signal. WiFi and AT&T service were intermittent. Ended up calling Expedia to cancel the 2nd night. It’s been 5 days and they cannot get in touch with the hotel to request a refund. If you can handle a crappy motel with basically no staff, this is your winner. If not, do yourself a favor and just stay in Jackson Hole and drive up.
