Arlo SoHo

The rooms are obviously small, but bed was super comfy and the bar/restaurant/bodega amenities were nice (albeit expensive, but that’s New York for you). Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. I was in a deluxe queen, and there wasn’t much space for luggage except under the bed - not a big deal for a solo traveler, but two people probably would have a hard time.

Good location for getting around the city. Great little boutique hotel in Soho...

We stayed as a group of 3 couples in 3 rooms, we benefited from the free evening wine in Harolds, the rooftop bar with great views of downtown and downstairs bar and lounge areas. The rooms are small but are really functional and they have everything you need as well as a comfy bed. Run by children for children. This said, the IKEA-type furnishings and amenities were surprisingly effective. Bedding was very comfortable, and the shower was excellent. Noisy surroundings and fairly isolated. Everything is extra -- felt like traveling on Spirit Airlines, and the resort fee felt like a gyp. Not first choice if trendiness is not your priority.
