Check-in process very slow. Gave us wrong room & had to change rooms twice in four nights. Superior Room and the Family Room both a good size with a small bar fridge; air-conditioning & ceiling fan; comfortable king bed (made with two single beds); desk with draws; clothes hanging rack; luggage rack with small shelf underneath; bedside lamps & tables; and a shared balcony. The family room had two extra beds. We had free WiFi with ok speed, but would often drop-out due to local power problems or access problems. There was no wardrobe or TV in either of the rooms. The lighting in the room and the bathroom during the night was extremely low.
As for the bathroom, the water pressure was good given that we were in the countryside of Sri Lanka. Bathrooms had no storage space. Only toiletries provided were two bars of soap. As we have found in many of the Sri Lankan country bathrooms, the shower is not contained within a cubicle and therefore the majority of the bathroom gets wet when you shower.
Both rooms and the entire hotel were fairly clean, except for the linen on tables at the restaurants. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating, as was the owner and his son.
You cannot walk to any eating place so have to eat dinner at hotel restaurant. The prices at the hotel expensive for Sri Lanka.
Negatives include charging LRP 1,000 per day for your Driver accommodation & food, which other hotels do not. This took us be complete surprise. No TVs & Self-serve laundry.
