The Reef Aonang Hotel

Great place to stay a little outside of the beach area but still great walking distance to everything. Great rooms for the price!

We were a couple traveling Thailand, using Ao Nang as our home base to Island Hop. We booked this hotel because it was a reasonable price in what looked like a popular area. Nothing about this place was that horrible, but overall we did not have a nice stay and would definitely avoid staying here if we ever find ourselves back in that area. This hotel is directly across the street from a Mosque that blasts prayers on its loud speakers every 6 hours, including the times when you’re trying to sleep. After our first night, I asked to be moved to a room in the back of the hotel but they couldn’t accommodate. We stayed 3 nights, staff does not replace toiletries, water, or provide house keeping (if they do, it’s very minimal). Shower curtain was moldy. Mini fridge interior was moldy. Bad is hard. Sheets and pillows are stained. Water shuts off periodically. You get what you pay for basically. If your on a budget and don’t plan on spending much time in your room, then this place is absolutely fine. Good location if you like to stay out late and party, hotel is right on a main party strip full of hotels, bars and shops. However, not a good location if you enjoy a quiet uninterrupted sleep and want to stay in a nice comfortable room.

Ya hotel very clean service close RCA for girls 5min walk no problem bring lady to room has staff in room beach 10 min walk only thing have mosque beside but never had to much noise notthing to worry about but over very with my stay.

Arrived at hotel was told there was an electrical problem with Room, they told us we would be staying at another hotel (same oeners)across the street for the first night, then move back next day. No help with suitcase up to 4th floor, after moving back to the reef hotel next day, no glass in Windows facing street, very very noisy traffic, very uncomfortable bed, rude reception...overall a poor choice for our stay in ao nang

The first room had a broken shower and the air-con leaked all over the room. They kindly moved us to a bigger room the next morning, but the windows didn't close. It faced onto the main road so sleep was not an option.
