Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Berchtesgaden

Hotel is van het type "vergane glorie", op zich niet slecht maar voor de prijs zijn er betere en modernere hotels te vinden. De foto's op internet zijn duidelijk van een tijd geleden en weerspreken niet de huidige stand van zaken.

Amazing stay. Beautiful scenery from the room. You could see all the natural beauty coupled with the city sights. There was a bit of stairs with limited and cramped elevators but not too much of a bother. Parking was easy. The staff was very accommodating and personable. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone.

Absolutely stiffling in hotel and room. No air conditioning or even a fan in the room. We were there during high temps. Not offered a bus pass and when we asked why they said because we were staying only one night and they have to be returned. Even though they knew we were visiting the salt mine and Eagle's nest and had asked them to hold our luggage until after. Very quaint older style and clean room.

I really liked the mountain view of these hotel rooms! It was also centrally located and was close to buses and the train station.

Despite was a lil bit difficult of the route from the train station to the hotel (could take a bus instead) but when I got on the hill the view was magnificent. The reception people are very friendly and helpful, the room is neat, tidy and quiet

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Berchtesgaden, the staff and owners were very pleasant and exceptionally helpful.

Good central location. Very good breakfast. Nice swimming pool. Quiet room. Clean and spacious for one person. Staff spoke english & were polite & helpful.

The staff is world class. Most helpful when I arrived after a long international flight and a train ride from Munich I was granted an early check in! Any questions I had about food or transportation they were helpful. I stayed in room 54 and it had spectacular views of the mountains and overlooked the town of Berchestgaden. The room was clean. The breakfast has scrambled eggs a choice of sausage. Meats and chesses are available too. Decent meal choices to start the day. The internet worked fine in my room. Before booking be advised of a few things. The hotel can be reached by walking but not recommended. It is a steep climb and the its not paved(gravel) rolling your suitcases is not going to be fun up steep gravel paths. Taxis are available. There are no DC plugs for your laptops or other electronics. You must have an adapter or you will not be able to charge your phone or anything else. I got by for three days using my USB cable and plugging it into the T.V. There is no air conditioning; but that is common in Germany. Overall: staff was most helpful and views are spectacular and they give you a card to ride busses so you aren't charged during your stay. Be prepared to pay for a taxi, bring a adapter or three to charge your electronics and the air conditioning should not be a problem as the winter months approach.

We stayed at Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten for 2 nights. The hotel faced the mountains and from most parts of the hotel, there were spectacular views. The hotel is not far from the train station, but to get there you have to go through a subway, then a car park to a footbridge, and then up an extremely steep path; not easy with heavy luggage. However, once there you were very close to the town centre of Berchtesgaden which was only a few minutes' walk away. We stayed in a Junior Suite, which was a very nice room with separate lounge and walk-in wardrobe, but unfortunately was at the back of the hotel and had no view of the mountains; be careful when choosing a room. The hotel appears to be old with lots of 1960s extensions, and can be a bit of a maze inside. There is a lift to the top floor, but you have to walk up 2 flights of stairs and through several corridors to get there. There are several common rooms in the hotel that have great views and there is a nice indoor swimming pool. Breakfast was good, although there are not many hot food choices. The TV had no English language channels, but I don't think they get a lot of English speaking guests. On the whole I really liked this hotel and would stay there again.
